Not quite, but close! *2015-02-18* So Goldee was the most elegant Hue app there was until they got hacked and sufficiently destroyed by an ex-employee. It was a VERY disappointing loss. I haven't seen another worthy contender come along until Huedini (great name by the way!). It's got a similar layout and great recipes... not as elegant but pretty close... but there is one big flaw: THE IPAD HAS TO BE ON, AND IT WONT RUN IN THE BACKGROUND. That is a major bummer in the usefulness department. I'm supposed to turn Auto-Lock off and drain my battery the whole time I want to set the mood in my house? Not cool. Goldee did both of these essential things, oh how I miss it. I've been waiting for someone to fill the void. Maybe in the next update... ### 2/5 — Asks for extra money too often *2014-11-01* I paid for this app. Then in the first 10 minutes it asked for money twice more in order that particular features wouldn't stop working. I think that this app is a little too keen to leverage more money. The basic functionality that you get for the original app purchase price is too basic/hampered. It cycles the lights for a while and then stops. Also, the App doesn't work in background which also limits its usefulness. Until the developer addresses these issues and calms down on the cash collection I wouldn't recommend the app. ### 2/5 — Documentation is non-existent *2014-05-17, version 1.0.6* I spent 20 min trying to figure out how to make my own scene loop with this app. I am totally mystified. I don't understand how people put up apps without help instructions. ### 3/5 — I like the effect, but... *2014-01-07* …it’s not very useful since it only works while the app is in the foreground and the iOS device is unlocked. I’m not disabling auto lock on my device every time I want to use this app. Otherwise the effect is rather pleasant. if lights changed even faster I’d like the effect more. But as of now it’s only good until my phone locks. ### 2/5 — Works, but not as advertised *2013-07-28* July 27, 2013 I see that someone finally realized that there is a bridge to connect with. At least now the app works. The effects are fair at best. There needs to be a dimmer control. None of the effects reminds me of fire by the way. Still not worth the price of the app. More than likely will not use this much, if at all after all. Nice idea, but equipment and app can not duplicate anything that resembles a fire. May 5, 2013 It is obvious that no one has been able to get this app to work. Not a single star above "one". One is too many for this. Tried everything that was suggested to do, many times. Not worth the hassle. Every other app instructs to push the button on the Hue bridge, this one does not. Is this a clue? All of the other apps work when this is done. Garbage right out the gate. Don't buy this app!!!! Will not configure manually or auto. $2.99 wasted on this. Tried it after the update with no results. Found the bridge, but will not link. I have no other problems with six other Hue apps, just this one. Apple should be in our corner on this one. If it doesn't work, then credit everyone's account until it does. There is no accountability to the developer. If I bought something anywhere else, there is at least a recourse. Apple doesn't have the customers back. Money should be refunded if the product doesn't work at all. I took a chance on being one of the first to be taken. This app does not work. ### 1/5 — Same Problems as others *2013-04-24* I went through the FAQs and followed all the steps. The program says "sorry can't connect" even though it displays my correct IP to the HUB. I have every HUE app available in the store to date and this is the only one that can not find my hub. I didn't want to post this as I like to contact developers and give them a chance, but this developer leaves no way to do that via a website or even email? So I leave this and say I will gladly change the review if I can actually test this app out. I have every iPhone and multiple iPads and it just hasn't connected. I read the bad reviews and took a chance anyway due to the fact I have read other hue apps bad reviews about connecting and had no problems with those. These are the two features that made me like this app in the first place. It looks amazing when each bulb independently cycles through the colors and custom palettes only cycle through colors all at the same time and is not nearly as impressive looking. on top of that when I bought the unlocking features it clearly states that I would be unlocking all the features... so it's very misleading. very disappointed. I would gladly re-rate this app 5 stars if it had these features and didn't mislead the buyer. This app has a lot of potential to be one of the best for the hue. ### 1/5 — Quite possibly the worse iOS App I've ever bought. *2014-11-15* The interface is extremely clunky, slow, and unintuitive. I use it every day! It can run in tandem with the Philips APP. I have lights running a color scheme on the Philips and lights running on Huedini at same time! I have 3 lights as outside house lights. Huedini runs them through a color pallet on a cycle I can program! White siding and lots of white snow make for a gorgeous bath of colors on the house and surrounding area!! I have 26 bulbs! And the most important: the app stop when the iPhone screen is turned off. You can even customize your loop, which is cool. It's not easy to do, but a great function. The single biggest problem with the app is you can't turn off the sound of crackling fire and thunder. But this app allows smooth slow colour transition. It even control white light too. I only don't like the dimmer setting on this app. You can't really dim the light too low.
