## What is Hueka?

Most colour-mixing apps average RGB values. That tells you blue and yellow make grey. Real paint makes green.

Hueka mixes the way paint actually mixes. Every pigment is a reflectance curve sampled across the visible spectrum, blended with Kubelka-Munk subtractive theory and converted to screen colour through the CIE 1931 observer. That is why the answers here match what happens on a real palette.

FIND A RECIPE FOR ANY COLOUR
Pick a colour from a photo, the camera or a colour code. Hueka runs its paint model backwards and gives you the parts to mix it from ten pigments, with an honest measure of how close each recipe gets and a clear "out of reach" when no paint can make it. Open any recipe in Studio to see why it works.

TODAY'S COLOUR
One target colour a day, the same for everyone. Five checks to mix it, a streak to keep, and a result card to share without giving the recipe away.

STUDIO MODE
Ten named pigments: cadmium yellow and red, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, quinacridone magenta, ultramarine, phthalo cyan and green, titanium white and ivory black. Mix by parts and get a full explanation: the mix step by step, why chroma collapsed, which pigment is dominating by tinting strength, what white and black really do to a colour, and which slice of the spectrum survived.

SIMPLE MODE
Six colours. Tap to add a dab, see the result and its name straight away. Names come from the eleven basic colour terms that nearly every language shares.

CHALLENGE LEVELS
A target colour, a palette, and a score based on the CIE76 colour distance. Getting close is easy. Getting it right teaches you more than any diagram.

WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
Most apps in this category blend two hex values and show you the average. Hueka runs the same subtractive model used to predict how pigments behave, so a mix of three colours turns muddy here for exactly the reason it turns muddy on paper.

HUEKA PRO
Recipe search is free three times a day. Hueka Pro is a one-time purchase that removes ads and unlocks unlimited recipe searches.

No account needed. Every mix and every recipe is computed on your device, and your photos never leave it.
