Used to be good but abandoned *2025-01-27, version 1.0.7* They basically just took away a majority of features in the app, it use to be amazing but it doesn’t have any of the functionality of before. To me it’s an easy fix to get it integrated but the Developer has obviously abandoned the app. ### 4/5 — Decent app, needs ipad optimizing *2024-12-08* Nice app, love huggingface, but please make an iPad version! I’d be willing to spend a couple bucks for it. ### 4/5 — 5 stars after a usability update *2024-11-28* This is amazing and I love the way this will help democratize AI, disrupt the old establishment, and contribute to transparency. It’s a lot more trustworthy when you don’t get scripted responses to certain topics. It’s 2024, and AI has the tools and power to not spew dis/mis info… the big players in the space just want to remain in control of narratives. This will be my go-to app once there’s a hearty UI/UX update. The chat feels clunkier than competitors, which will probably be the biggest turnoff for the general user. Otherwise it’s great ### 2/5 — Not for ipad *2024-07-24, version 1.0.7* Doesn't use the whole screen as seems to be for iPhone and when trying to login, you can't enter numbers on the keyboard for the password ### 3/5 — Good Models, Buggy App *2024-06-28* The LLMs are pretty solid, I’d actually rank the flagship CR+ model as somewhere between GPT3.5 and GPT4o. But the app is really poor and glitchy, constantly drops server connection and displays errors that interrupt the bot’s output flow. It’d also be nice if we could “retry” outputs without each attempt being added to the conversation window one after the other. OpenAI’s web interface lets you retry outputs and select which attempt you’d like to continue conversing with, although notably they haven’t added yet this feature to their mobile app either. At least they let you edit your own inputs though, which you can’t with Huggingchat for some reason. Overall: good tech, bad interface. ### 4/5 — Pc features *2024-06-13* Hugging face company, could you please add the same features like web browser version. For example: Assistants search bar, feature to create you own assistant directly from the app, web browser UI, icons for each ai, feature to upload files, photo. This would make the mobile version app so much better, you can already use this features on the browser hugging face but can’t use them on the app… Thank you Hugging Face for all your effort, I know you are just starting but this would make this much better. 🚀👏🏻 ### 3/5 — Need to improve and WE NEED IPAD VERSION *2024-06-05, version 1.0.6* Great app but there’s several problem that needs to fix for now 1.Unable to send images 2.Can’t login in multiple devices, otherwise one of them will be automatically logged out 3.Need Dark Mode for OLED device (Dark won’t display) 4.No Claude Model ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work anymore :( *2025-06-28* Was really nice but completely stopped working after I was logged out and tried logging in again, where if you even tried logging in it’d give you an error and you couldn’t do anything anymore ### 1/5 — Broken and Neglected *2025-06-01* As most reviews say, yeah the developers must think this app is garbage and left it there, because it shows. EVERY SINGLE Qwen model is unusable, Deepseek is very buggy, the few models that do work must be tweaked because you need to basically get your prompt to a SCIENCE if you want just a decent response from it, and Ik the models aren’t that bad because if you do use it on some other interface they work fine. The devs really don’t care which is kinda sad with the amount of potential an app like this can have yall should do better. ### 1/5 — App isn’t being updated *2025-02-24* Seems like they have given up on this app. Using the multiple LLM models, the answers are very poor with other apps with those models performing much better. This app did allow Mistral for instance before they came out with their own app but using the native app is much better. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-02-24* Start a chat, delete the chat. Now the app is broken somehow. If it misunderstands your question and thinks you’re asking about something illegal, it’s game over. No matter how many times you clarify, clear its memory, or even reinstall it, it’s stuck on that one misunderstanding. You can explain a thousand times, ‘That’s not what I asked,’ and its response will still be, ‘I understand you’re asking about something illegal.’ No, I’m not! Absolutely ridiculous. Honestly, it’s so useless I might as well use Google—and we all know how frustrating Google can be. Once it misunderstands, it’s done. No other questions, no moving forward—just stuck forever. Also, I can’t even use the custom models anymore. ### 1/5 — Do not update!!! *2024-10-21* They basically just took away a majority of features in the app ### 1/5 — NEVER USE THIS APP *2024-07-05, version 1.0.7* Created an account, made a password, 30 seconds later I went to sign in with my new email and password and got a notification that my password had already been leaked to 5 known data breaches ### 1/5 — Sounds promising but sign-up process kept sending me in circles. Deleted!! *2024-06-30* Signed up but when I attempted to sign in the app told me my password (which I’d just created) had shown up in at least 2 data breaches and told me to click to be sent a change password email, which I never received (yes, I checked in spam). Did this 3 or 4 times, I give up. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — This app is useful for using DeepSeek-R1. *2025-02-16* You don’t really need to sign up for DeepSeek to use DeepSeek, but if you just use this app then you can use it without making an account, also you can use it locally. However, Qwen models don’t work at all. It’s incredibly frustrating that every Qwen model is broken. Awesome devotees. Supportive. Generous. Efficient. Smart. Honest. Privacy-supporting. Overhauling greedy AI corps that collect, use and sell user private content. For the win. Keep it up, can only keep getting better with. E.g Llama 3.3 makes it that much better. (Btw, the tools can be glitchy, and AI go a bit mental, but overall very stable and self-improving). Some suggestions would be: - improve the document parsing tools - saving the user prompts for active model across devices/browsers/apps (yes they get cleared) - ability to upload knowledge and save that custom bot as a whole entire bot (like Poe does) -bring back the beast, llama 405B! That was fun while it lasted :D Keep it up. Amazing, and replaces top AI in some tasks and functions. And destroys about 100 newbie-developed 100 AI apps in the App Store lol.
