I saw a report about Hum and was eager to support them and their vision of what ride share could be. I tried to sign up glitches doing so. I finally submitted all the required photos and documentation. It’s been over a week and nothing has been reviewed or approved. I know new start ups can have issues. I reached out to them and after a short back and forth email verifying certain details I was told to hurry up and wait. I will update this review as I get more information but for now it seems support and follow through is an issue. ### 1/5 — Not backed with enough capital *2024-06-14* Buggy app, terrible integration for payment, no marketing and no riders. Their strategy to get riders is to have drivers for Lyft/Uber try to convert passengers to hum after picking them up. Don’t waste your time and money. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! We understand your concerns and are always improving the app experience. We actually just had a major app release over the past week to ensure a smoother process for both Drivers and Riders. HUM is unique in that while one can accept rides in the traditional marketplace, a driver is also able to build their own book of business while keeping 100% of their earnings. We do have a corporate marketing team working on events, sponsorships, social media, and partnerships to attract riders. While drivers can choose to hand out business cards to riders, this is just one of the many ways we help drivers succeed. How drivers choose to market themselves is entirely up to them and many drivers have found tremendous success in various ways, which we try to share with other drivers. I met others with Hum at a coffee shop, but I have never received support for my account after in-person contact, two voice messages, and two emails. Lol *2024-01-23* In HUM’s crowdfunding campaign they state the fair market value to charge drivers for access to their platform is $300/month - LOL. No driver in their right mind would pay anywhere close to that! No driver would pay anything to driver for Uber/lyft, why would someone pay to driver for this unknown app?? lol. Pathetic. **Developer response:** We appreciate your feedback and understand your skepticism. Currently, drivers are only paying $30-$40/month for access to our platform. Based on extensive market research, we've found that many drivers are willing to pay between $200-$300/month for the ability to keep 100% of their fares– especially when considering that the average fare on HUM is $22. On other apps, drivers often sacrifice up to 50% of their earnings per ride, adding up to thousands of dollars per month for active rideshare drivers. Additionally, HUM provides commercial insurance for rides, something many private drivers pay well over $300/month for on their own. Our platform is designed for full-time, and entrepreneurial drivers who want autonomy and the freedom to keep all their earnings, without paying high commissions. We're confident in our model, and it's already proving valuable for many drivers. I finally joined and after paying my subscription there was more to pay in background checks. I decided at this point I did not want to go any further since I am getting out of ride sharing all together Uber/Lyft. Now that I want to cancel my subscription they have gone silent. They will not return my messages and now after three attempts to ask them how to cancel my subscription I am at a lost. They will not cancel my subscription. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! ### 1/5 — Suport ignores subscription cancellation request *2025-10-25* The business model is great, but it seems like they make their money by ignoring those who need to cancel their subscription. Be very careful about providing payment information to hum. Hilarious ### 1/5 — Waste of time *2024-12-28* Complete waste of time trying to sign up as driver. I uploaded everything within 10 minutes. After a week of no updates i deleted the app. ### 1/5 — A complete waste of time! And your money! *2024-10-14, version 1.6.11* I signed up and you have to pay a high dollar membership fee to be a part of this app. They charge that to the driver. The driver does not get 100% of the fair as claimed. After five days of having the app on ALL day. I got one ride! Before I clicked on it, it said I would get around $18 and some change. It was a 12 minute pick up. I had to wait three minutes for them to get in. and about 15 minutes to drop off the customer. 30 minutes of work. And they only gave me $13.60. What happened to the rest? It said that they charged the customer $15.71. Then they took a $.57 fee. then, their app says that they charge the DRIVER tax! On that ride and every ride. And you still have to pay income tax on every ride! So now your tax twice? As a driver? What a joke! It went from being around $18 for the ride down to $13.60? No thanks! never again… Do not get lost in the fog of the fine print. just another rip off rideshare app. A wolf in sheep’s clothing… I predict this company will get sued. ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-06-18* I’ve been trying to close my account for over 3 months but no one calls you back. The app stays in a pending status. I keep getting charged. This is ridiculous. Waiting for a fraud claim with my bank. **Developer response:** We sincerely apologize for any frustration.
