### 1/5 — Appalling

*2026-03-29, version 1.0.3*

Such little signage up to explain the payment process. The app itself is a joke. Sends reminder text messages at 2 in the morning reminding you to top up. Great service, especially when I have your auto top up service activated. Why?

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-03-25, version 1.0.2*

How on earth in this day and age is this app allowed on the App Store? It’s managing financial transactions yet makes no use of any password manager. Its essential that this is corrected immediately. Please be more professional., it’s embarrassing.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2026-03-19, version 1.0.0*

Why can’t I use Apple Pay as a guest?

### 1/5 — Generally Useless

*2026-03-19, version 1.0.0*

May as well use the website unless you are a regular user.

### 1/5 — Very Poor

*2026-03-18, version 1.0.0*

Hopeless. So complicated. For nerds only. I must be one because I finally managed it 🙃

### 1/5 — Appalling app

*2026-03-16, version 1.0.0*

This is an absolute joke - terrible functionality. Pretty sure a GCSE computer science student could do better. Disgusting that the minimum payment is £15 - I only want to pay for my £2 journey and was encouraged by the website to use the app.

### 1/5 — Not Working

*2026-03-14, version 1.0.0*

I could download it, but it immediately tells me that I have no internet connection. Then gives me a photo of the Humber Bridge. Useless.
I have iPhone SE.

### 1/5 — £15 minimum

*2026-03-14, version 1.0.0*

I did not intend to take the Humber Bridge, my fault for following satnav without close attention to the route. I quickly went to register the account to avoid penalty and find that the minimum payment accepted is £15. I am never likely to need to take the Humber Bridge ever again so now they have £13.50 of my money forever. I have submitted a complaint via this app and pending resolution

### 1/5 — Diabolical

*2026-03-12*

How on earth can you shut the booths then not have any avenues that work to pay the fee. I’ve been trying all day, I do not want to have a credit on my account. I just need to pay the amount I owe and even that is proving a full days job. I’ve just been to the hospital (begrudge paying this dam fee for hospital visits but have no choice with that either) and don’t feel like spending the next few hours trying to pay this newly increased fee. Absolutely soul destroying.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2026-03-11, version 1.0.0*

Just seen a news article that the toll booths are no longer there. Downloaded app signed up added money but no way to pay for my trip from last week. What a waste of time!

Also can’t use password manager to copy and paste username and password. Poor security practice just makes life hard for users!

### 1/5 — This is a scam

*2026-03-10, version 1.0.0*

I am disabled travel twice to hospital need to pay 4 pound but you make me pay ten pound in app or make me wait hour on the phone with no disabled facilities

This is discrimination and abusing people scammers will drive round now not paying

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-03-08, version 1.0.0*

I am finding it impossible to sign in to my account using the app. The user name field won’t accept upper case letters, which is unfortunate because the sign up process insists on using at least one upper case letter. Also, the password field cannot be populated using passwords app. So you have to type it in every time. Except there is no point doing that because it won’t accept my username…

### 1/5 — Humbert Bridge

*2026-03-05, version 1.0.0*

This is the bridge that takes you from the humber to the humber. Bridge, it is rubbish to pay and use and i like to crush worms with rocks. I hope this app didnt put the little people in the booth out of the jobs. It takes five whole days to see the worms you have paid for. I hope they are okay

### 1/5 — Fkn rubbish!

*2026-03-03, version 1.0.0*

Happy taking my fine but not happy letting me use the app you con merchants!!!

### 1/5 — Badly designed app

*2026-02-27, version 1.0.0*

Hardest setup for an app I have come across in years. No autofill enabled, no compatibility with password apps on Apple or Google, no copy paste enabled.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2026-02-23, version 1.0.0*

Useless app , often won’t work and some of it is written in pigeon English . Presumably developed on the cheap abroad and not fit for purpose

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pathetic

*2026-07-29, version 1.0.7*

Simply pathetic app, not instinctive, overly complicated and basically the only practical way to pay since the phone contact is equally miserable.

### 1/5 — Pointless app

*2026-06-16, version 1.0.5*

This app doesn’t even tell me how to pay for a crossing, it just wants more money depositing? What’s the point of this app if I’ll just have to pay using guest crossing every time?

### 1/5 — Appalling

*2026-05-22, version 1.0.5*

The most useless app I have ever experienced. Zero stars would be appropriate. I tried it when it was first published. I tried again today, in late May. I tried on iPad OS and I tried on Android for phone. I tried three times today to create an account, entered every single detail required and each time, after getting my bank to authorise a payment, I return to this pile of dung to be told something went wrong and to try again. I also posted a message earlier requesting help with a payment problem to which they did note even reply. If this app were a bridge we would all be drowning.

### 1/5 — Zero Stars

*2026-04-24, version 1.0.3*

The most unintuitive interface I have ever seen in 40 years of software development :(

### 1/5 — horrendous

*2026-04-23, version 1.0.3*

Incorrectly charged me when I had money on my account. App is clunky don’t know why it all had to change worked fine with toll booths. A £1.50 crossing now led to a £27 fine because of your incompetent app and system. What an absolute joke won’t be paying this

### 1/5 — Just terrible!

*2026-04-18*

Multi million pound revenue and can’t even have a decent app setup even after the booths are gone. Extremely long process to make payment in the first place. Met with errors and other issues. Then another drawn out process to make an account and then you have to add £15 funds as you can’t just pay your toll in full. What if you travel once every few years? Or once in general forever. It’s non refundable! Must have taken me about an hour just to pay the toll.

Booths were far easier and at least you knew you had paid. New system is designed for increased fines nothing more.

### 1/5 — Criminals

*2026-04-16, version 1.0.3*

What a mess. Totally unfair process for toll users. Years of planning to switch to ANPR and a process that’s problematic and obtuse for drivers.

### 1/5 — Scammers

*2026-04-10, version 1.0.3*

Minimum £15 joining fee, why? I just want to pay for the price it cost me to cross the bridge. Robbing crooks.

### 1/5 — HullBridgeApp

*2026-04-03, version 1.0.3*

Very poor and confusing.
I use bridge occasionally to holiday in Yorkshire Moors but had to set up with minimum of £15.

### 1/5 — John O

*2026-03-30, version 1.0.3*

The last login, the app allowed bio. Now it’s no longer available

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very Straightforward

*2026-06-06*

Easy to use and self explanatory. Changing my Tag account over couldn’t have been easier.

### 5/5 — Really easy to use

*2026-02-22*

I think most of these reviews are down to user error. Downloaded app and paid for 2 guest crossings in 1 minute

### 5/5 — Easy peasy

*2026-02-11, version 1.0.0*

3 minutes to set up account and check login. Works well
Richard aged 67 😂

### 5/5 — Massive improvement

*2026-02-03*

The app is a night and day improvement over the old outdated website. Very easy to navigate, top up account and make changes to reg plates.

### 4/5 — Travel Updates

*2026-07-02*

Can I ask why there is not any travel updates on the app as well ? It would make the app a lot more helpful and may even remind people to pay tolls

### 4/5 — An improvement

*2026-02-11*

This app has been a long time coming and it is an improvement over the 10+ year old website. Only niggle so far is that Login options don’t include FaceID.

### 3/5 — Not great

*2026-02-16, version 1.0.0*

Cumbersome account set to recognise personal details and the vehicle. Why can’t the username be my email? Why no face-ID for my iPhone.
For me as an occasional user it will be easier to drive in via the western motorway approach to Hull (coming from the south) and avoid the bridge altogether. The journey is 23 miles longer time is about the same - and saves me the faff of having to bother with preloading this app with cash or remembering to go on the app after I have crossed the bridge.

### 3/5 — Does not work with iPhone password manager

*2026-02-09*

Fairly painful setup that found neither my address nor model of my car and then didn’t allow you to use stored passwords or biometric login.

### 2/5 — Not Acceptable

*2026-03-30*

Not at all impressed how the toll has been converted to full ANPR only with the signs saying pay by midnight, but no further details how, so you then have to search online for the official web address, which scammers will no doubt create fake sites to take people's money! I then downloaded the app with a £15 upfront payment, but you then have to wait up to a week to see any crossings logged, so no way to know for sure if it's been paid and left dangling; surely the data is there as soon as you go through! This must be improved!

### 2/5 — Poorly designed app

*2026-03-08*

You will be fined if you don’t pay next day but this app doesn’t show crossings on the next day so you don’t know if account is live and working correctly after your first crossing.
Up front payment of £15 is a ripoff. As others have said password manager won’t work. Provision to change or add car registration is not there.
