### 1/5 — Worst app

*2026-06-17, version 4.4.3*

For almost two years, I have been trying to work with this app. At one point, it connected with the fan and was working ok. Then it stopped working, mind that it connects to the home app, but it will not connect to the hunter app. Contacted the hunter customer service and after numerous emails, their answer is that the WiFi module in the fan is bad. But if the fan connects to the home app, how is the WiFi module bad? I’m still confused.

### 1/5 — Trouble downloading

*2026-06-10, version 4.4.3*

Can’t review, can’t use yet🤷‍♂️

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-06-07, version 4.4.3*

This is the worst app I’ve ever used! I did everything correctly, and I’m only able to turn the fan off using the app, I can’t turn it on. Whenever I try to turn it on using the app, it constantly toggles between on and off, and nothing happens. Plus, Alexa integration doesn’t work!

### 1/5 — Won’t sync my fan to the App

*2026-06-04, version 4.4.3*

I have troubleshooting and it still does not connect to the app and therefore I cannot then activate Alexa to control the fan.

### 2/5 — Bad software or bad hardware?

*2026-06-04, version 4.4.3*

I know that smart home devices are hit or miss, but I wasn’t able to get either of my two fans working reliably as smart devices. One never connected to the Hunter app and the other connected after a few tries but always showed offline after the first day. In addition, the app was never able to connect to Google, so the smart features are completely useless. The chat interface for setting up the fans was also very tedious. At least the remotes work as expected.

### 1/5 — No longer working after last update

*2026-05-26, version 4.4.3*

Garbage. This was working for years .. the last update borked the app I can no longer control my fan with the app at all

### 1/5 — Unresponsive and terrible

*2026-05-23, version 4.4.3*

Just as it states. The app is unresponsive, slow, and just plain terrible.

### 1/5 — Never works

*2026-05-23, version 4.4.3*

My login never works and locks me out of account. I change my password and try again and it is still locked even though it says it will be unlocked if I change my password. This is all bs. Worst fan and company.

### 1/5 — USE EXTREME CAUTION!!!

*2026-05-22, version 4.4.3*

This app is absolutely horrible, from its super complex overly complicated interface to its constant connectivity issues. I only downloaded it so I could set the fan up, update it, and then transfer over to HomeKit. I recently installed a new Wi-Fi system and surprise, surprise the only device I could not get transferred over correctly was the fan. After doing a full reset of the fan and setting it up again in the app. The Hunter app went ahead and deleted my entire HomeKit. All of my cameras, automations, and every other smart device connected to my Apple Home. Why on earth would a smart fan app have access to my entire HomeKit and have the ability to delete everything. Hours if not days of work gone in a second. So beyond frustrating for a laggy fan that works 50% of the time at best. Save your time and money and get a different fan if it’s not too late.

### 1/5 — Definitely More Work Needed

*2026-05-21, version 4.4.3*

The app is hit or miss at best. Spent an hour attempting to connect a fan / light combo. No joy, no connect. Error after error when following the instructions to the letter. Wow!!! What a nightmare. I urge you NOT to fall for Hunters hype about this app and their products.

### 1/5 — Not Consistent

*2026-05-15, version 4.4.3*

I’ve had this app and my ceiling fans/lights connected for 5 years. One minute they work with my Alexa or in the app the next minute they don’t work or just work in the Hunter app or only work through Alexa. Really bad quality.

### 1/5 — So bad. Hardware sucks.

*2026-05-15, version 4.4.3*

HomeKit fail. 1 of 3 fans “No response”. Power cycle works once then “no response”.

### 1/5 — Buggy as heck

*2026-04-29, version 4.4.3*

Constantly delinking with Alexa. One fan disconnected and won’t reconnect with its own app either.

### 1/5 — Worst “Smart” app ever

*2026-04-14, version 4.4.2*

I have connected dozens of devices to my home network and absolutely nothing was anywhere remotely close to being as difficult as adding the fan to my Alexa control. There is no way it should be that difficult to connect to Alexa.

### 2/5 — Not reliable

*2026-04-13, version 4.4.2*

Although there are customer service is really good. I’m still having periodic issues with the app, recognizing my fans. For the money that these fans cost above and beyond a non-smart fan. They should be way more reliable. Otherwise they need to start issuing refunds.

### 1/5 — Nothing works with new software 4/12/26

*2026-04-13, version 4.4.1*

This update is totally awful. How do you go from 2 star rating to a 1 star.. If you want a good Wi-Fi fan stay away from Hunter fans This app is so bad from my phone or iPad I had to start using the remote that came with fan..
Also the app is so very slow to respond …
The app developer needs to be fired!!!!
The guy that cleans the toilet could do a better job then the developer yeah I thought the white shark was top of the line but I guess not

### 1/5 — Bad

*2026-04-12, version 4.4.1*

Please work on the app and the the compatibility with google home & apple kit

### 1/5 — Terrible useless app

*2026-04-11, version 4.4.1*

I rarely ever write reviews. This one is bad enough that i need to warn others: DO NOT BUY A HUNTER SMART FAN.

Update: All of the home integrations, including the Hunter app, the Apple Home app, and Google Home, have stopped working. No errors. The fan and light still show up, but the controls just don’t do anything. This is the absolutely the worst “smart” anything I’ve purchased.

This app is basically useless. Setting up my new Zentech fan was a nightmare. It took about a dozen tries over 3 days to get it to work with HomeKit. No issues with my WiFi or router, but lots of obscure iPhone settings needed to be changed. I managed to hunt down that info through google. The “assisted setup” feature is just a chatbot that did not provide any useful information.

I finally got the connection to work by skipping the stupid chatbot altogether and just using the legacy setup, which is basically your standard HomeKit barcode scanning.

The app itself just wraps all of your HomeKit devices in a alightly worse interface than Apple Home. I have no idea who thought that would add any kind of value to this app. You can’t even filter to show only Hunter devices!

What is the point of this app? Who thought any of this was a good idea?

### 1/5 — Pure Garbage

*2026-08-12, version 4.4.3*

Got the fan with the hope of using this app. Setup was easy but the the device went offline after 2 weeks of usage. Customer service is technically clueless.

### 1/5 — Supposed to work with Alexa? I think not

*2026-08-05, version 4.4.3*

Worked with Apple home hit but cannot get it working with Alexa to save my life. I have gone through everything and I work in the high tech software space.

Apple home kit worked like a charm but cannot get it connect with Alexa at all

### 1/5 — HORRIBLE

*2026-08-01, version 4.4.3*

the worst fans and customer service. I’ve been trying for WEEKS to get help on my fans that won’t connect. A guy named Randall from customer service (or IT support) made an appt with me to help me and then ghosted me. I stayed home from my kids game for that appt. When I reached out, he said, “ I’m sorry I couldn’t make it.” No cancellation. This company is the worst. Don’t waste your time, buy another brand. They’re not standing behind their product and customer service is seriously lacking.

### 1/5 — Still garbage after all these years

*2026-07-26, version 4.4.3*

I’ve had these fans for years. And after all this time, the app is still a joke

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-07-21, version 4.4.3*

What’s the point of having a nice app if the software doesn’t connect to the fan. It’s a great concept, but doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Very bad

*2026-07-15, version 4.4.3*

App does not work, does not work with Alexa, Google. I finely connected my fan to the app, but then there is notice "no response", then I could not delete that fan (because it does not respond). So, it is just trouble and problems all the time I would rather return that fan.

### 1/5 — I regret buying Hunter “smart” fans

*2026-07-13, version 4.4.3*

I bought two Hunter smart fans to replace 15 year old ceiling fans. I went with the smart fans for control via remote, app, and Alexa integration. The remote works sometimes (not the App’s fault) and the app almost never works. Still can’t get the fans integrated with Alexa via the app. It seems Hunter just wants to sell me more stuff in their app instead of making the app functional.

### 1/5 — Horrible Company, Horrible App

*2026-07-06, version 4.4.3*

Once again another example of a company cheaping out their app development to someone in India or another “off shore” company who then uses AI because they lack the skillset they said they had to do the work. In the end is an app that does not work.

### 1/5 — Frustrated

*2026-06-27, version 4.4.3*

This app used to work fine for the most part. For four years. Now, it doesn’t work at all. All my fans are disconnected and no longer work via Alexa or the app. To add them back, I am going to have to get up on a ladder higher than I want to go and scan the RFID codes per the instructions in the app. Why did you have to change what wasn’t broken?!?! I don’t have time to waste on this. The whole reason I bought these fans is because they are smart.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-06-20, version 4.4.3*

This app is one of the worst I’ve ever used. It won’t connect to my Google Home, it won’t let me change the WiFi the fan is on, it barely works to actually control the fan. It took over an hour just to connect in the first place and now that we have a new internet provider it’s completely useless because I can’t make any changes.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Update makes a huge difference

*2026-04-22, version 4.4.2*

The latest updates look and work great. I am actually using this app more often than Apple Home kit to control my fans (which I couldn’t say about the last version).

### 5/5 — Connects to Alexa and Apple HomeKit

*2026-02-18, version 4.4.1*

Got my fan connected to my Alexa and iPhone. I didn’t use most of the features available but was happy with the app’s ability to get me connected to the devices I plan to use to control my fan.

### 5/5 — Nice App!

*2026-02-02, version 4.4.1*

Just bought new fans for the Master bed and TV rooms - installed the app easily - the app has a nice layout and works as expected. We particularly like being able to turn the light off and on from in bed or on the couch. My wife now wants the same control for the entryway and back bedrooms. I didn’t realize how useful I would find these - I am going to try some scheduling next.

### 5/5 — 5 stars all the way!

*2026-02-02, version 4.4.1*

Best fan control app I’ve used! Clean, modern design that’s actually easy to navigate—no clutter or confusion. I can adjust every fan in the house, reverse direction for winter, and even use voice commands through Alexa. The remote pairing and app reliability are top-notch. If you’re tired of basic remotes, upgrade to HunterSmart—you won’t regret it!

### 5/5 — New design is great

*2026-02-02, version 4.4.1*

Love the updated design of the app. It makes navigating for my home so much easier to be able to control everything by the rooms with the extra added features of integrating my smart assistant scenes. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

### 5/5 — Got the support I needed

*2025-11-19, version 4.3.5*

It took a month and several emails and finally calls to resolve my issue It was a unique issue with the Apple Home app that was making it impossible to connect my fan through Smartconnect Randall helped walk through the issue and noted a corrupt “Home” in the Apple Home app which he helped me resolve Kudos!!

### 5/5 — Version 4.3.5 don't upgrade

*2025-10-09, version 4.3.5*

This version has a bug in it. This but doesn't add the fan back into the app it only adds it to apple home kit. After having some issues with Alexa not recognizing the fan. I reset and removed my fan from the app. Getting it back into the app just will not happen. The app keep opening apple homekit and passing commands to apple home kit over and over again. Once I downgraded back to the version before this one. I was able to see my fan and add it back to the app.

### 5/5 — Hunter

*2025-10-02, version 4.3.5*

I am a legally blind and paralyzed veteran who owns five hunter smart ceiling fans, even though there was an issue with the cloud via Alexa, they still honored their product by sending me an apple mini pod so I can still utilize all of my smart hunter ceiling fans. For any manufacturer to go to the fullest extent to make their customer happy, this was second to none. And most appreciative to Randall and the office. And I Thank you.

### 5/5 — Light Kit could be improved. Not consistent light, flicker at times.

*2025-08-23, version 4.3.4*

Needs light that is consistent, flickering at times.

### 5/5 — Functional

*2025-08-23, version 4.3.4*

This app IS a little buggy, but let’s be real, no one’s trying to control a smart fan from anything but a mainstream smart home app. The app leads you to clear instructions for connecting your fan to your preferred platform. I saw someone say Home naming doesn’t appear in the app, but it does as of my writing this, I guess that was fixed or something. Also reliability is REALLY good like to the point where I might get rid of the dumb switch that controls power and just use the circuit breaker, because I’ll almost never have to deal with resetting the fan. I’ve had my fans in the Apple Home app for multiple years, and this app was helpful enough in guiding me there, and when I checked on the app recently, things were still fine—not one reset necessary.
The app shouldn’t scare you from Hunter fans, it works well enough. Indeed, SimpleCONNECT has mostly lived up to its name.
