HuntFishNY is the official New York State Department of Environmental Conservation mobile app that provides our sportsmen/women a simple way to display their licenses and privileges and view important hunting and fishing related information. Not only have I been a NYS resident for 10 years, I have been a state employee for 7 years. Despite this, the app is telling me that I am a non-resident of NYS. Is this app supposed to be a payment portal or a portal to Hell? Anyway, this will give me something good to complain about while I’m on vacation. ### 1/5 — App barely works when it does *2026-05-27* When you go to purchase a license it will lock you in a perpetual loading screen now. I have had this app for several years and it’s always been a problem. Now it’s pretty much unusable might as well go to your local sporting goods store and get your licenses that way. Even when you try to go online you’ll still get locked in that loading screen hopefully it works for the folks at the sporting goods store but I’ve known them to have problems as well with the system NY State uses. ### 1/5 — This app shocks *2026-05-18, version 4.9.0* While I try to show my licence to Dec ranger this app keep saying error. Signed in to buy a fishing license and even though my license and address state NY resident, it only offers me the option of non resident. Being throw from page to page of regulations, but can’t get to where I need to be. Such a waste of time.
