Therefore, I gladly exalt its merits, and express my sincere and deep gratitude to the developer for his enduring efforts; yet, I would welcome a reasonable one-time fee to remove the ads, useless nuisance which now mostly block the menu buttons ### 2/5 — It does not very help *2020-07-23* This app does not really help at all. Just go to windy.com it’s way better. It’s cool how you can see the satellite but, it’s just not even helpful ### 3/5 — GOES EAST Updates *2018-06-07* Since this app switched to using the new GOES EAST (16) satellite I’ve had great trouble finding outlines of countries and states depending on which view I’m using. Why use white outlines when clouds are white? Please switch to a more vibrant colour. A bright red or yellow should be useful especially on the Caribbean map. Overall personally I’m disappointed with the views from this satellite. ### 4/5 — Hurricane Tracker *2018-04-05* You must fix the lighting tab because when you click on the tab the app goes off. That is not supposed to happen. I just downloaded this app and I give it four stars. Can you also have in the radar maps Atlantic and Pacific areas. Can you also go through the entire app and see what tabs are work and which one are not working and fix then all. Freezes up. Info not up to date as your local weather! Do not get! I realize an app needs to make money, and I'd gladly pay for such an app. But, I was disappointed to download this app and see it has ads without a purchase option. ### 1/5 — Hurricane Matthew???? *2016-10-08, version 3.0.3* I am very disappointed in this app. Hurricane Matthew just ran straight up Floridas coast, reaching cat 4 and not once did it ever show up on this app. No hurricane tracking. You could only see it on the radar. I find that very disappointing. Half the time it wont even load. Only gave it four stars to move it up the chart if it had a -4 stars I give it that. Don't waste your time. ### 3/5 — Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia Radar Blank! *2016-10-03* The other locations are all wonderful and work perfectly. That said, when you select on the radar images for Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia, you get nothing but a white, blank screen and so no radars in motion. It is a huge disappointment. There is no way to see the mega-typhoon activity in that region of the world. It used to be possible. Why are there suddenly banner ads on this application??? ### 3/5 — How do I control it? *2015-09-10* I love the time lapse cloud cover part, but it goes by way too fast. I haven't found any way to control the speed of the loop, or any way to get to a help menu, or any way to contact the developer to ask questions. It goes to the loading screen then crashes. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Still Best Real Time Hurricane App! *2022-07-14* Seven years ago, this was a hurricane app for the Atlantic only until I approached the developer to make some overall positive changes to this app to include the Eastern and Central Pacific including a radar map for the Hawaiian Islands. Since that time, we’ve seen several GOES satellites come and go in which we lost some key features over the years. On March 1,2022, NOAA launched the new GOES-T Satellite to be renamed to GOES-18 once it reaches it’s final orbit, which it did on May 13-22, 2022 after some orbital adjustments. This satellite will be renamed again in May 2023 to GOES-West after the next satellite launch here in a few months in the cue. Some of those key features will come back with the next satellite launch such as the world Sea Surface Temperature Map( SST) Interactive and the South Eastern Pacific Radar Map Interactive with the next several weeks. This entire app is interactive and it much easier to sense the direction, speed, size and intensity of a named hurricane. It’s a lot of labor and hard work involved to connect, match up data and update this interactive real time hurricane radar maps to this new GOES-18 Satellite feed but you will notice that these interactive Doppler Radar maps are like no other in Apple’s App Store currently. Currently, the Hawaiian Islands are under hurricane threats from Bonnie, which was downgraded and Darby, which was just upgraded to a CAT 3 but will hopefully pass south of the Hawaiian Islands this weekend while we are experiencing Kings Tides. On this Saturday, July 16 from 9am to 12noon, the Makani ‘Ino ARES Hurricane Drill will happen at the same time along with the RIMPAC 2022 Military Exercise to add some possible realistic data and Amateur Radio EmComm Communications that couldn’t have any better timing than this to add some realism to these important exercises. With that said, this Hurricane App with be playing a key role with us doing mobile operations including on several military bases this coming Saturday morning. As the Net Controller for the Honolulu NWS SKYWARN Program at the University of Hawaii-Manoa Campus, this app is going to play a vital role for me while on the road and while going to each mobile preplanned location on my iPhone. Please support this app as improvements will be made over the next couple of months. This is a great free weather app. The looping for the satellite and radar is longer than any weather app on the store. The variety of satellite enhancement curves is great. Lighting is also provided. All this for free, it is one of my go to apps. Thanks so much guys for this wonderful app and all the dedication and hard work you have put into it.
