### 1/5 — Total Scam

*2026-08-22, version 5.1*

Stopped using this app years ago because it just wasn’t that good. Today I get an email that they tried to use my expired credit card to renew my subscription, which I don’t have. If this was legit they should have used Apple for the payment, which threw red flags that they were trying to scam me. Don’t use this app.

### 5/5 — Excellent Information

*2026-08-17, version 5.1*

Like the app. Has good information. Very timely. A very good source for accurate information.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-08-16, version 5.1*

I have used this app for years but now it is all about the paid version. I don’t like it at all anymore.

### 2/5 — Too Busy

*2026-08-14, version 5.1*

I’ve been using this app for years and even upgraded to the premium version a few years ago. I was fine with that. I got a lot of views and the price was minimal.

Since the changes it’s so cluttered. The font is so small my aging eyes struggle to read it. It gives a summary of the storms and at first glance I nearly freaked out at how many storms it was showing. Then realized it was giving me everything: Atlantic and Pacific. I’m on the Gulf Coast and could care less about the Pacific. My default region is set for Atlantic so why do I have to look at the Pacific in my summary?

Please go back to the other layout. It was much easier.

### 2/5 — Not very good

*2026-08-14, version 5.1*

This used to be my go to app for hurricane info but fixing to trade it in on another app. Changes over the last year or so really messed it up. So much emphasis on going pro it just a cluster now!

### 3/5 — Excellent

*2026-08-14, version 5.1*

What happened?! This was my previous review before the later changes: “This app is very thorough and provides a number of great maps. I love the updates on storms and knowing their projected path. Highly recommend!” Now the maps are subpar, I’m not getting notifications even though they are turned on, and the maps and models look very bare bones. The home page looks like a clustered Temu home page, and it’s hard to visually grasp—busy is a good way to put it. Less is more and the simple layout was much nicer.

### 1/5 — It’s been cheapened

*2026-08-13, version 5.1*

I’ve had this app for years. In a move I can only assume is greed the basic “spaghetti” models have essentially been removed. You’re better off using the free weather version than getting a ton of useless information

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2026-08-13, version 5.1*

What happened to this app? I’ve had it for years and always used it during hurricane season. I used it as the unpaid version for years and then upgraded to the premium and used the paid version for years. My husband saw it on my phone and got it too because he liked it so much.

It’s terrible now! At first they changed it so that I had to log into my premium version every time I opened the app. Now, I open it and I think I’m still supposed to log into my paid version, but I’m not even sure. There’s so much visual noise I can’t tell what’s what. Why do I need to log into my premium every time? Why is the home page so cluttered and confusing? Did the App programmer accidentally let their 4-year-old loose on their app design?

It’s very disappointing. I’ll be looking for another storm app.

### 1/5 — Update is terrible

*2026-08-13, version 5.1*

I’ve been using this app for years. It was my go to hurricane app. It was great. Now they updated it and not only is it ridiculously busy and cumbersome to navigate, but now you get less information unless you pay for premium. I will no longer be using this app as it is useless unless you want to pay and there are other free apps that give more info.

### 2/5 — Update

*2026-08-12, version 5.1*

What happened??? The face lift is way too busy! It used to be so easy to use and now there’s so many neon colors everywhere it’s hard to see what you’re doing. Glad I didn’t subscribe. Moving on to find something simple and straight forward like this one use to be.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 5.1 — 2023-06-27

- We are introducing active storm widgets! No more opening the app to see if there are active systems. See this information right on your home screen!

Small widget - will display up to 4 storm types. When there are active systems, this widget will only display storm types with active storms. When there are no active storms, it will display 4 storm categories (hurricanes, tropical storms, depressions & invests) showing "0" storms.

Medium widget - will always display up the 5 storm types even if they are "0".

Widgets will automatically refresh and pull the latest storm counts from the server. Widgets will also update when you launch the app. When you tap on a widget, you will be taken to the "Current Storms" section of the app to view information on active storms. Storm types with active systems will animate and show the number of active storms within each storm type. The number represents how many active systems there currently are within that storm type. For example, if "hurricanes" is showing a "1" then that means there is one active hurricane we are tracking. The storm types are hurricanes (red), tropical storms (orange), depressions (green), potential tropical cyclones (blue), and invests (teal). Note: Due to limited space within the small widget, it will only show up to 4 storm types at once. The medium widget will always show the status of all 5 storm types.

Widgets will display Atlantic or Eastern Pacific storm counts based on your "default basin settings" located in the settings panel of the app.
