The functions are great, but the app looks and functions like it was made in a garage. ### 2/5 — Dark background *2026-08-24, version 5.1* This new update is so messed up. I find it very hard to read the app with the black background (myopia and astigmatism), and it now has so many useless features that the screen looks messy and loud. ### 2/5 — Too Busy *2026-08-14, version 5.1* I’ve been using this app for years and even upgraded to the premium version a few years ago. I was fine with that. I got a lot of views and the price was minimal. Since the changes it’s so cluttered. The font is so small my aging eyes struggle to read it. It gives a summary of the storms and at first glance I nearly freaked out at how many storms it was showing. Then realized it was giving me everything: Atlantic and Pacific. I’m on the Gulf Coast and could care less about the Pacific. My default region is set for Atlantic so why do I have to look at the Pacific in my summary? Please go back to the other layout. It was much easier. ### 2/5 — Not very good *2026-08-14, version 5.1* This used to be my go to app for hurricane info but fixing to trade it in on another app. Changes over the last year or so really messed it up. So much emphasis on going pro it just a cluster now! ### 3/5 — Excellent *2026-08-14, version 5.1* What happened?! This was my previous review before the later changes: “This app is very thorough and provides a number of great maps. I love the updates on storms and knowing their projected path. Highly recommend!” Now the maps are subpar, I’m not getting notifications even though they are turned on, and the maps and models look very bare bones. The home page looks like a clustered Temu home page, and it’s hard to visually grasp—busy is a good way to put it. Less is more and the simple layout was much nicer. ### 2/5 — Update *2026-08-12, version 5.1* What happened??? The face lift is way too busy! It used to be so easy to use and now there’s so many neon colors everywhere it’s hard to see what you’re doing. Glad I didn’t subscribe. Know all I see is Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Dart and the rest of the Sonic gang telling me a storm forecast. Too busy, looks like I am going to a rave and my head hurts. Today I get an email that they tried to use my expired credit card to renew my subscription, which I don’t have. If this was legit they should have used Apple for the payment, which threw red flags that they were trying to scam me. I’ve had it for years and always used it during hurricane season. I used it as the unpaid version for years and then upgraded to the premium and used the paid version for years. My husband saw it on my phone and got it too because he liked it so much. It’s terrible now! At first they changed it so that I had to log into my premium version every time I opened the app. Now, I open it and I think I’m still supposed to log into my paid version, but I’m not even sure. There’s so much visual noise I can’t tell what’s what. Why do I need to log into my premium every time? Why is the home page so cluttered and confusing? Did the App programmer accidentally let their 4-year-old loose on their app design? It’s very disappointing. Now they updated it and not only is it ridiculously busy and cumbersome to navigate, but now you get less information unless you pay for premium. Have used for guidance riding out several major hurricanes, and no single source has been more helpful. I would rate 5* if not for this: The new issue of not keeping premium users logged in—this is going to be problematic as the season picks up. We used to be able to hit enter, not re-enter UN/PW every time. The 30 day remember device doesn't work consistently, it's not my device, I checked. I understand the note about API constraints, honestly this is the only app I've ever had require me to log into premium every. Single. Time. Devs—please fix this. Some of us did stay last year despite the inactive season, and to have what we've paid for feel like a downgrade just isn't cool. I stay on top of every storm out there. ### 5/5 — Hurricane tracker *2026-07-28, version 5.1* I’ve been using this for years I live in Florida Keys and I have been able to only in 20 years of living there Have one hurricane come directly over my house, which was hurricane Irma in 2017 it was the only hurricane that did any damage to my property It’s the only hurricane that I ever left the Keys for knowing how bad it was going to be. I use the tracker. I did not listen to Weather Man. He was the national Weather. Bureau doesn’t track as well.
