I contacted customer support and after emails troubleshooting back and forth I received a message that they had decided I violated the terms of service and my account was suspended indefinitely!! Not only that but there was no indication which terms I allegedly violated! I reviewed the terms and I don’t believe I did. I requested they review my account again but it’s been silence since then. This is a HUGE issue. I don’t have a work phone so I was using this number to keep my work related calls and texts separate. We have a big event coming up and to register people were supposed to text or call my HUSHED number. It’s been on all of our posters and communication and now I have no idea if people are trying to register. It’s put me in a terrible situation so I would NOT recommend using HUSHED for anything you can’t afford to lose access to with no warning or explanation. Abrupt account restrictions based on vague and arbitrary low call numbers. Account automatically flagged and disabled if "you make too many phone calls"... How many is too many? They can't tell you. It's automated and it's one of those situations where the customer service believes the automation is God, cannot be questioned. ### 1/5 — Didn’t work for me *2026-07-23, version 5.36.0* Wouldn’t let me text international numbers. Tried two different plans. Basically paid for a useless service. I got a Hushed number so I could have something with a local area code that was hardware independent, which means I don’t have to miss calls and texts if my phone goes kaput. Business is starting to thrive. Best $4.99 a month I ever spent. Apple accounts require SMS OTP, but support VoIP. A second number gives me the advantage of obscurity, with a number that doesn’t show up in White Pages, Intelius, LexisNexis, or Experian. I created an unhackable password for Hushed, and a secret email that obscures the account. Hushed requires email OTP, and I’m not logged into it, so there’s no session cookie to steal. I turned off FaceTime and iMessage, and was able to remove my real cell number from my Apple ID with Hushed to satisfy the requirement. I created recovery codes so my password can’t be changed in a browser, as well as Stolen Device Protection. Every other bank and/or entity worked fine. All Hushed support would say was that it was not their fault as did my bank.
