## What is HVAC Load Calc?

Right-size any residential system in seconds. HVAC Load Calc runs a whole-house block load (the Manual J method) from a few envelope inputs — no spreadsheets, no guesswork.

Every subscription starts with a free trial. After the trial, HVAC Load Calc requires a subscription — everything described below is a subscriber-only feature.

ENTER THE HOUSE
- Floor area, ceiling height, and climate (built-in design temps for major US cities)
- Insulation presets for walls, ceiling, and floor — or your own U-values
- Window area and glazing type, air tightness, and occupants

GET THE LOAD
- Design HEATING load (BTU/h)
- Design COOLING load, split into SENSIBLE and LATENT (BTU/h)
- Recommended equipment TONNAGE, with a sanity check that flags oversizing

KEEP THE JOB
- Save a calculation under the job name and reopen it later with every input intact
- The list shows each job's loads and tonnage, so you can find one without opening it
- Everything stays on the device — no account, no sign-in

HAND OVER A REPORT
- A one-page PDF: design loads, equipment size, and every input behind them

Saved jobs. Name a calculation and it is waiting on your next visit, with every input exactly as you left it. The list shows the heating load, cooling load and tonnage for each job, so you can find the right one without opening it.

One-page PDF report. See the page before you send it — design loads, equipment size, and every input the numbers came from — then share it from anywhere iOS can share a file. It is named after the job.

Built for iPad. On a 13-inch screen the form and the report sit side by side, and the page updates as you change the envelope. All orientations, and correct in a resized window.

Fixes: reopening a saved job now keeps the humidity band and the hand-entered U-factor it was saved with, instead of resetting them to the defaults for that city.

Enter your own U-values.

Walls, ceiling and floor now take a custom assembly U-factor alongside the presets — for the build that isn't on the list. Pick "Custom…" in any insulation row and type it in.

A value outside the usual range for that assembly is flagged, so an R-value typed into a U-factor field can't quietly turn into a tonnage.
