## What is hybridAF?

Lift heavy. Run fast. hybridAF turns both halves of your training into one number.

The Hybrid Score combines your strength and your cardio engine using a harmonic mean, each side graded against published population standards. Being good at half of it does not move the number, and the number falls when you stop training.

Built for hybrid athletes: people who lift and run and refuse to pick one, including anyone training for HYROX or a race while holding onto their strength.

WHAT YOU GET

One score you cannot fake by being good at half of it
Strength and engine are graded separately on the same ladder, then combined so a weak side pulls the total down. Six qualities sit behind it: upper strength, lower strength, VO2, speed, stamina and grind.

Recovery that changes the plan
Connect Apple Health and hybridAF reads your HRV, resting heart rate, sleep and strain, then tells you when to push and when to hold back.

A week that fits your actual life
The planner puts sessions in the real gaps in your calendar, shaped by your goal and pulled back when your recovery is low, then writes them into Google Calendar. Reschedule by chat.

Every session, mapped
Splits, heart rate zones, power curves, estimated 1RM and PRs, from your own data. Import your lifting history from Strong or Hevy, and your runs and rides from Strava.

A coach that knows your numbers
Atlas reads your training, recovery and plan, then answers in plain language: what to do today, why your score moved, what to fix next.

See where you stand
Optional leaderboards rank you against other hybrid athletes on the metrics that matter.

SHOW YOUR WORK
Every metric is documented at hybridaf.app/science, with the research behind it and a plain statement of which parts are our own design choices rather than published science.

hybridAF runs on the web and on your phone. Your data stays yours: export everything or delete your account at any time.

## Frequently asked questions about hybridAF

### What is the Hybrid Score in hybridAF?

The Hybrid Score is a single metric that combines your strength and cardio performance. It uses a harmonic mean, grading each aspect against population standards, ensuring that proficiency in only one area doesn't inflate the overall score.

### How does hybridAF use recovery data?

By connecting to Apple Health, hybridAF reads your HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, and strain. This data informs the app's recommendations on when to push your training and when to prioritize recovery, adjusting your weekly plan accordingly.

### Can hybridAF import my past training data?

Yes, hybridAF allows you to import your lifting history from apps like Strong or Hevy, and your runs and rides from Strava. This helps create a more complete picture of your training history for accurate analysis.

### What kind of coaching does hybridAF offer?

Atlas, the in-app coach, analyzes your training, recovery, and plan to provide plain-language insights. It tells you what to do today, explains score changes, and suggests areas for improvement.

### Does hybridAF have leaderboards?

Yes, hybridAF offers optional leaderboards where you can rank yourself against other hybrid athletes based on key performance metrics that are relevant to hybrid training.

### What are the subscription options for hybridAF Pro?

hybridAF Pro is available for $19 per month or $129 per year. The annual plan includes a 2-week free trial. A special Founding Member annual plan is offered at $99 for the first 100 members.

### How do I manage or cancel my hybridAF Pro subscription?

Your subscription can be managed or cancelled within your App Store account settings. Auto-renewal must be turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period to prevent further charges.

### Is hybridAF available on multiple devices?

hybridAF is accessible on both the web and your phone. Your data is kept private, and you have the option to export all your information or delete your account at any time.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.14 — 2026-10-08

Tap Recovery, Strain or Sleep on Today to open a page for each.

Recovery shows what built the number: HRV, resting heart rate and sleep, each against your own usual, with its weight and the points it added. Strain shows your sessions, time in heart rate zones, a target for the day from your recovery, and seven days of load against readiness. Sleep shows the night's stages hour by hour, a sleep clock with your last week of bedtimes, sleep needed tonight, your 7-night bank, deep and REM against typical ranges, and how steady your bedtime is.

Every page has your history with your usual range shaded, a calendar of past days, and a note from Atlas you can ask about.

A missing reading now shows as an empty ring instead of disappearing. Your VO2max and its range now show on the Engine card. New App Store screenshots.

### 1.4.12 — 2026-10-07

Tap a lift's name mid-session to see its history and records. The sheet opens at half height, so your sets stay in view.

A new lock screen and Dynamic Island for your session: the lift and set you are on, a rest countdown with the next set, and a tick for every set. A paused rest no longer keeps counting down on the lock screen.

The lock screen widgets are redrawn, with a new inline widget, and the whole app now uses Inter.

### 1.4.11 — 2026-10-06

The app now uses Inter throughout, the same typeface as hybridaf.app and the score cards, so the app, the site and what you share read as one thing. Widgets too. Nothing about your score or your data changes.

### 1.4.10 — 2026-10-03

New App Store screenshots that show the app as it looks today. The app itself is the same as 1.4.9.

### 1.4.9 — 2026-10-02

One-minute video guides. Every main screen has a "1-min guide" button beside its title, and all of them are in Profile.

Strain is now a score out of 100, with five bands: Rest, Easy, Steady, Hard, Max.

A cleaner Today card. What stands out in your recovery sits in one line above the dials, and a strong recovery reads "Ready".

Redrawn rings. Every ring carries a measuring scale, and the ticks fill as the reading does.

Metric detail, rebuilt. Tap the title to switch metrics. Your range is drawn as two lines on the chart, with the verdict right under the number. Body's vitals show where today sits on a small scale.

Atlas answers more reliably. If its model is slow, it switches to a backup within seconds, and a reply that cannot finish says so plainly. Debrief with Atlas goes straight to the review.

Fix units shows exactly which set changes when the fix does not move your best estimated 1RM.

The Free and Pro table now says plainly what Free gets from Atlas: one turn a day.
