## What is Hydra Nation?

Hydra Nation turns healthy hydration into a fun daily habit. Log every glass of water and watch it power up your very own alien companion — Blip, Nova, Marea and more — as they grow, evolve, and unlock new looks.

Build your streak, earn coins, and spend them in the shop on outfits and accessories for your alien crew. Compare your day with friends on the leaderboard, and earn coins for finishing top. Take a break from logging with quick side quests: dodge asteroids, run the cosmic track, or crack the Signal Decrypt puzzle. Test your knowledge with hydration quizzes, and learn real hydration facts pulled from trusted sources like the NHS, Mayo Clinic, and Harvard.

Design your own alien mothership, track your daily goal with a calendar and a weekly graph, and get gentle reminders throughout the day so you never forget to drink up.

Hydra Nation is built for anyone who wants a playful nudge to drink more water — no complicated tracking, no medical claims, just a fun companion cheering you on one glass at a time.

Features:
• Log water intake with one tap
• Watch your alien evolve as you hit your goals
• Daily streaks and coin rewards
• Friends leaderboard with opt-in progress sharing
• Weekly intake graph and calendar history
• Mini-games: Cosmic Runner, Asteroid Dodge, Signal Decrypt
• Hydration quizzes and cited health articles
• Customisable alien mothership
• Smart reminder notifications

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.11 — 2026-10-06

Friends just got a lot more fun.

- Game leaderboards: see your friends' best scores inside Asteroid Dodge, Cosmic Runner and Skorch Override. It's off by default and switched on in Settings.
- Streaks: see your friends' streaks, and gift a friend a streak freeze when theirs is at risk. They'll get a notification.
- Nudge a friend with the new wave button.
- A clearer leaderboard, with your win from yesterday shown at the top.

Also new:
- A new chime for correct quiz answers and cracked codes.
- Skorch Override now pays the same coins at every level.
- Bigger, easier to read text throughout.
- Tidier layouts, a neater Shop, and better alien positioning on the home screen.
- Fixes for Android phones with narrow screens.

### 1.0.10 — 2026-10-03

New: send a streak freeze to a friend (the ice cube next to their name), and see your friends' best scores right inside the mini games (opt in under Settings).
New: friend nudges and push notifications, a streak freeze for everyone, and an evening reminder if your streak is at risk.
Fixed: yesterday's glasses showing after midnight, swiping changing your alien anywhere on the page, the leaderboard telling you to drink an impossible amount, missing past months in your streak log, and Hydra Nation interrupting your music or podcasts.

### 1.0.9 — 2026-09-30

Fixes from this round of testing:

• The progress ring around the log button no longer looks broken part-way through the day
• Cosmic Runner: a jump now registers if you tap just before landing, and the screen no longer flashes blue mid-run
• Your referral code works again after reinstalling the app
• "Settings" now says clearly when it means Hydra Nation's own Settings tab rather than your phone's
• The Jet Pack and Star Crown unlock sooner

### 1.0.8 — 2026-09-17

• Blip's settings game plays at your own pace — nothing runs on a timer, and every button sits in the same place.
• Asteroid Dodge waits for your first tap before the ride begins.
• Skorch Override: tap a placed crystal to remove it.
• Reset progress now asks before it wipes anything.
• If your home-screen widget looks empty after updating, open the app once and it will fill in.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-14

Your aliens, your way

Every alien now has to be fully bonded — drunk all the way through
stage 3 — before the next one hatches and before it boards your
Mothership. Legendary aliens are their own quest: the moment you
earn one, it's yours to raise whenever you like, and a streak that
breaks later can't take it away. Pick who gets your water from the
Guidebook, and choose which stage each alien shows on the
Mothership.

Blip's settings game
Set up your reminders, sounds and friends by catching Blip. It
waits for you at every step, gives you three tries per catch, and
picks up where you left off if you leave. Play it again any time
from the Settings title.

Also in this update
• Glasses logged from a reminder now count toward your alien
straight away, with the celebration to match
• Reminder frequency in half-hour steps, and the picker no longer
greys out when reminders are off
• Weight and glass size save as you type; a recommended 8-glass
goal if you'd rather not say
• One look for every button, and shop buttons line up
• Fixes for text overlapping the stage buttons, the Mothership
toolbar running off the screen, and a frozen photo on replay
