### 5/5 — Simple, yet effective

*2026-08-02*

App is well designed and it’s great for the purpose… however, I tested against history added by other app that pushes the data to Apple Health and Hydrate or Diedrate (HorD) won’t load/recognize the amount of water registered from the other app to Apple Health. However, anything added from HorD is added to the other app. This needs to be fixed. Data should be read and write in both ways. btw: Purchase user here.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review and for supporting the app.
Apple Health sync is one-way by design right now — Hydrate or Diedrate writes its entries to Health but doesn’t read from other sources. That keeps the record it maintains unambiguous; reading external entries introduces duplicate and day-boundary conflicts that make the log less reliable. Import from Health is on the list as a possible future addition. Appreciate you testing it thoroughly enough to find the edge.

### 5/5 — Abide the Skull

*2026-07-30*

Water is the most important resource for your body to pull from, yet myself and millions of others fail to hydrate enough. We live in a state of constant dehydration, yet wonder why we feel tired, or not as healthy as we could be. I’ve tried an innumerable amount of water reminders in the past, but I failed each and every one over time. Why? I haven’t a clue. Maybe it was too lax, or the mascot was too cute and a pushover.

But, this app? No, no. The skull is a reminder of the inevitable, and (mildly) forces you into taking your wellbeing into consideration. The UI is simple and intuitive, and the design overall is awesome. It’s worth the investment—in support of the developer, and also your health.

**Developer response:** This is the review I’ll be thinking about for a while. You articulated the whole thesis better than my App Store description does — cute mascots are pushovers, and a pushover doesn’t change behavior. Thank you for the support and for putting it that well.

### 5/5 — Very thoughtful

*2026-07-28*

The most stylish hydration app I’ve ever used.
Who knew a reminder to drink water could feel this atmospheric? The dark, mysterious design and clever notifications make staying hydrated surprisingly enjoyable. A beautifully crafted app with a lot of character.

**Developer response:** “Atmospheric” is high praise for a water tracker. Thank you — the visual direction and the notification copy were the two things I obsessed over most, so it’s good to hear they’re both landing.

### 5/5 — Tied the rest? Now try the best!

*2026-07-28*

I've tried “a few” (don't judge me) of programs that do this and they were not really motivating, to “sanitized” or on the opposite end of the gamut, “fluffy” - this one is a direct “get it done” kinds thing and the vibe is enough for me to keep the app open, always.

Hydrate or Died rate is just what this dude ordered.

**Developer response:** No judgment on the “a few” — that’s the exact research that led me to build this one. Sanitized or fluffy were the only two options and neither worked for me either. Thanks for the review.

### 5/5 — Cool design for the app logo

*2026-07-25*

This app has helped me keep track of how much water I drink and by doing so I lost over 15lbs within weeks.

**Developer response:** Thank you — the icon went through a lot of iterations before it landed. Glad the app is helping you stay on top of your water intake.

### 5/5 — Teacher

*2026-07-22*

Extra motivation for these hot days

**Developer response:** Thank you — hot days are exactly when the skull earns its keep. Appreciate the review.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.3 — 2026-08-13

Maintenance log: the record now reads itself aloud.

Full VoiceOver support throughout. Every control is named, and every day on the calendar states its own condition rather than relying on colour to convey it. Reduce Motion is respected. Text now meets contrast standards in both themes and holds its shape at larger system sizes.

The icon list also shows the icons. An oversight, corrected.

Dehydration does not discriminate. Neither should the paperwork.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-08-02

Maintenance log: The record now opens to any month, not just this one — page back as far as your archive goes.

Fixed a clerical error that zeroed out your streak each morning before the day's entry was even filed. The count now holds until a day is genuinely missed.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-31

Maintenance log: misfiled entries have been recovered.

Water that had been filing itself under the wrong day has been returned to the day it was logged. Totals on past days may change. The previous figures were the error; these are the correction.

The skull no longer files a notice every time the app is opened. The last week of the calendar now sits in line with the rest of the month.

The record is accurate again. Continue.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-29

Maintenance log: the record now knows when your day ends.

The daily reset is yours to set — midnight, or whenever your shift decides. The record no longer carries yesterday's water into today. The Ledger icon can be reclaimed. Metric vessels are metric again.

Guidance on how much water you actually need now appears where you set the goal, for those who have been guessing.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-07-28

Maintenance log: the record will be accurate and efficient.

Now with edit / delete options for logged entries and custom amount quick log buttons on Today screen (Preserved feature).
