Whisk not so much *2021-03-04, version 2.3.0* Please update to fix compatibility with Whisk. My exported Hype .HTML file Ive opened in Whisk doesn’t reflect: “Connection Error”. Works fine on same machine with Hype. ### 3/5 — Buggy *2016-01-05* It is great for a quick preview. But the audio is buggy with this tool. I spent an hour or more trying to track down an audio bug in my code... Works great with the iPhone ### 4/5 — Better then Keynote *2013-10-08* I have been using Keynote to help prototype out ideas, but have been feeling after a first iteration, Keynote's limitations become a disadvantage. With Hype I am able to take my concepts further and refine them to my hearts content. Then with Hype Reflect I am able to preview my work. One wish would be to make the preview also interactive - kind of what LiveView has currently. I use LiveView when paper prototyping and create invisible hit boxes to go to different pages. It would be awesome to go past that and be able to use the power of Hype to make the mirror interactive. But great job @Tumult! ### 5/5 — Awesome app by awesome developers *2013-08-20* This is a great companion app to their mac app. Amazing time saving functionality with the ability to preview Hype projects in real time on iOS devices. Tks Tumult, you guys really are amazing. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all *2020-11-11* Both Mac and ipad are on the same wifi, but it never connects. ### 1/5 — Total flop *2017-12-18* The app no longer seems to connect the the Hype 3 Professional preview connection with my iPhone 5S even though they both are on the same network. Very frustrating since it works with my iPad which has the same settings. It would be nice to see theses bugs fix. ### 1/5 — Reliance on wi-fi is a deal breaker *2016-04-19* I've never gotten this to work. Mac and iPhone are on the same wi-fi. Not firewall to speak of. I can't go fiddle with my router, because I'm at work in a larger company. Tumult: why oh why do this via wifi? Why not just let me connect via a lightning cable? Or email myself a build, a la Flinto? Workarounds to view this on device are a PITA - maddening. ### 1/5 — Useless with newest version of Hype 6! *2016-02-03* So I bought newest version of Hype specifically to use this and then find out it doesn't work. Not even updated since July 2015! I'd wait to buy Hype 6 until they have all their ducks in a row for development. ### 1/5 — Bugs *2015-11-04* Please fix scaling bugs. Original 1000 times more reliable. ### 1/5 — Not working *2014-11-12* As another user stated, the app no longer works with iOS8 and Yosemite. There are no connectivity issues because I can see when I mirror the app, but when I try to test the prototype it only shows a blank screen. Also, the export to Safari on hype doesn't do anything. Please fix this! ### 2/5 — not yet updated for Hype 3 *2015-03-18* Although I can get the app to work between iOS8 and Yosemite running the new Hype 3 Pro, I cannot get the layouts to display properly when trying to prototype. When testing on my iPhone 6 using the iPhone 6 preset layout sizes the content is huge and needs to be pinch zoomed to fit. rotating to landscape does not activate the landscape layout either. Not sure if Tumult is planning to update this app since it doesn't seem to support the new iPhone 6 & 6+ five plus months after they were released. ### 2/5 — Love Hype, But.... *2014-06-12, version 1.1* I thought this thing was the answer to my dreams. Connected once, here we go... Hype OSX couldn't find it a second time, no matter how many times I tried and restarted, reset my wifi. Just kept spinning, looking for a device. Really began to dive into Hype and all that it has to bring to the table - which is a lot - but this app does not at all serve it's purpose. I can't open any of my test files on my phone or iPad. Just get a blank screen... I rarely get excited about software releases these days but mmmmm I love this ### 5/5 — The Best Web-Dev Application Suite *2014-04-11* I hate to write this review and give away one of my greatest secrets, but Tumult Hype (Mac Application) coupled with the Hype Reflect (mobile iOS App) preview tool is THE BEST!!!! Think of it as flash timeline-like development for HTML5. It is a DREAM tool for those who are graphical/visual developers not code jockeys. I started using this tool to build super-cool interactive content for my web pages, and now use it to develop full-on mobile web apps. Freaking Fantastic!!!!! My greatest fear is they get bought-up by a larger company and ruined. NOTE: this app alone is not useful without the Mac-based Hype SW Application, but it is a DEAL for $30.
