### 1/5 — Level 2 at the price of Level 3

*2024-11-02*

Saw this at a local grocery store and figure I give it a try. Then I saw the price $0.40/kW at 8kWh. Shell is up the street and costs $0.50 at 180kWh. Insane!

### 1/5 — Confusing setup, pre-pay for “free” service

*2024-07-10*

Setup seems straightforward, until it’s not.
I can charge for free at my workplace, but the app seems to require funds/credit card for you to charge at all.
You cannot keep charging and pay through your credit card if account funds/credits run out.

### 1/5 — Another stupid system

*2024-05-10*

0 stars on systems like this
Why do I need an app?
Why do I need an account?
Why do I need to top up an account and carry a balance?
Imagine if gas stations were like this, stupid right?
Add Credit Card readers to your charge points
Be part of the solution, not part of the problem

### 1/5 — Poor app, poor network

*2023-02-16*

Need to logon every time I use the app, they cannot design something as simple as their competitors? They started locally in vancouver, have not seen one charger outside of my building.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2022-07-21, version 1.0.4*

This was 2nd charger I had to try today. Downloaded the app but would not go past verifying phone number. Waste of time in already stressful situation.

### 1/5 — Good UI, except nothing works

*2022-04-07*

I’ve used this app 6 times in the last week, and I’ve only been successful 1/6 times. First of all it’s really time consuming/annoying to find your charger on the app compared to ChargePoint (which you can use tap), and then when you finally find it, it takes at least 30 seconds to connect.

If connected (gotten 4 timeouts so far, had to move the car to a different station) I’ve been getting random charging rates. Some stations it takes 8 hours to charge fully, other ones 2 hours. I was still charged the same amount regardless of the power rate I was receiving.

For the instances that the charger couldn’t connect, I saw I was charged. I reported it through the app multiple times, but still no response/refund.

Horrible experience, too bad we were forced to use this at my gym. Otherwise would never stop by these stations in the city.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2026-07-31*

This app is very basic and has no features that an actual charging app needs. I wish you would add scheduling in the app to schedule a time when to start charging. And after the charging stops there is no way to restart the charging again, you would have to manually remove the charger then reinsert it to be able to start charging again. It is unfortunate that the developers don’t listen and ignore user’s suggestions.

### 1/5 — Bugged

*2026-06-29*

The automatic payments doesn’t work and I keep needing to manually add funds. Plz fix

### 1/5 — 4 out of 4 don’t work

*2026-06-27*

The Hampton Inn Wheatridge CO is not a place to charge. I get it when a charger is down, but all 4? The worst part is I loaded the app with $10 to get started. I might as well have burned it saved 30 minutes!

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2026-06-22, version 1.0.28*

### 1/5 — Scammy, misleading, broken

*2026-04-12*

Unnecessarily complicated to set up. Had to preload money to use, then it didn’t even work. Now I’m out the money I preloaded into the app because the charger didn’t work, but I had to load the money in just to find out.

The hotel I’m staying at recently changed their free charging stations to these. At 2am after a long drive I’m in the rain fiddling with the charger and the app trying to get it to work. After scanning a QR code to download this app, forced to create an account, two factor authenticate, load vehicle details, contact and location info, payment info, preload money etc etc. all for it not to work in the end. I’m beyond frustrated.

Some charging stations just use tap to pay… I will never give this scammy company another cent and will advise all to avoid if possible.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-12-05*

I have used most ev charge app and this rates as the worst. Even though you have logged in the past it constantly asks to sign back in.
I can see why people get turned off of tech.

### 1/5 — Clunky and can’t search by station number

*2025-08-16*

Something as basic as searching by station ID # does not work.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-07-26, version 1.0.23*

Never use useless. Remove from the app store.

### 1/5 — Complicated and misleading

*2025-05-24*

To use a “free” charger I was forced to download a mobile app and add $10 to my account. Charger advertised L2 fast charging but did not provide such services. Complete waste of money and time

### 1/5 — Charger doesn’t work and no customer support

*2025-01-17*

Tried this app at 500 DuPont. Requires to load cash to app only for the app not to work. Specifically, one can’t simply enter in the station id to activate . No spot to do so. Tried calling immediate customer help - just got a generic call center that took call in details and someone will get back to you. Certainly have not heard from anyone so doubt if anyone is actually working to respond d to calls. Do not load cash in this app!

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2026-05-29*

I love the Hypercharge app, I can always get charged easily at my charger in my condo parking lot. Great app

### 5/5 — Hypercharge app

*2026-01-14*

I like this app. Works well.

### 5/5 — All electric cars owners

*2023-04-05*

I really like this app it really easy to use and doesn't lack. It provides you with a place to charge your car easily for all people who own electric vehicles I recommend you get this app.

### 5/5 — Super easy!

*2022-06-16, version 1.0.4*

I use the chargers at my gym and after a few initial hiccups when they were first installed, I have found them to be very reliable. When I did have an issue, the support guy got on it immediately. The app is super easy to use, 3 simple steps.

### 5/5 — Seamless and Simple

*2022-06-16*

What more could you want? It is the simplest and most seamless of the apps I’ve tried and gets me in and out fast.

### 3/5 — Needs improvement

*2026-04-18*

I wish you would add scheduling in the app to schedule a time when to start charging.

### 3/5 — Pre pay not ideal

*2024-06-10*

The Hypercharge chargers are installed at my work and I like them for the most part. The thing I don’t like is you have to keep your account topped up. Yesterday I put my vehicle on charge and after 8 hours realized it had stopped charging after an hour because my account ran out. They have my card on file why can’t they let me fully charge and take the money from my card?

### 2/5 — Ridiculously complicated

*2024-12-28*

Agree with previous poster. This app and using Hypercharge charger is NOT simple. I’ve owned an EV for 6+ years and this is the most complicated app setup I’ve ever had. And it’s 2024…I shouldn’t have to preload money on an account just to charge.

### 2/5 — Unnecessarily complicated

*2024-10-08*

It would be nice if we could just tap a credit card on all the chargers. Having to install an app on your phone, giving them all sorts of information about you unnecessarily isn’t right. It also took us 10 minutes to get everything installed and get it right just so we could charge it actually was not a great experience. Chargers just need to let us tap a credit card and make it simple.
