### 3/5 — Doesn’t fit screen

*2026-07-22, version 2.7.10*

App works well enough and increases functionality of Normatec 2.0 pulse unit for zone control. However it doesn’t fit phone screen once I’ve connected to the device. The apps aspect ratio seems to go out the window in the control settings…

### 2/5 — Lacking Functionality

*2026-06-22, version 2.7.8*

The app could use some love, the hardware is great. There should absolutely be one sort of favorited 1-click start option where you can pre-set the device, routine type, temp, duration, etc.. and then it should be the first thing on your homepage

### 3/5 — Hyper smart is not smart

*2026-06-01, version 2.7.8*

I really like the app, it’s helpful at guiding my use of the products and for Hypervolt, the actual routines. This makes it feel more professional and improves the experience with the devices rather than simply doing a routine unsupported.

Hypersmart is, as it stands however, just unhelpful. For example, today I opened the app and saw my daily score at 2, did around 15 mins of routines with the Hypervolt and the score dropped to 0.8. This makes no sense at all. It should logically go up. Surely. I expect tomorrow the score may rise. The weekly score however did go up after the routines. Logically this does make sense. Perhaps the daily score lags, or there is a bug, but either way, there is no explanation of what it’s tracking and how, or why it’s helpful to me.

Lastly, there is no list of my routine history. Why not? Surely it’s tracked for the Hypersmart score.

So overall, app generally useful, Hypersmart is not smart. At all.

### 3/5 — Time for new programs

*2026-05-22, version 2.7.7*

I’ve been using Hyperice for 4 years now and the app. You’d think by now some new programs would’ve come out to promote lymphatic drainage and recovery post runs. But unfortunately, it’s the same programs with no expansion nor innovation :/

### 2/5 — When it works…

*2026-03-11, version 2.7.3*

…it’s ok. But every time they update the app it just sits there with a blank screen when you open it. I just bypass the app half the time because patience is lost. Must have hired Sonos software developers.

### 2/5 — Hyperice X2 (Knee or Shoulder)

*2026-02-04, version 2.7.1*

I purchased the Hyperice X2 after knee surgery expecting premium recovery support. Unfortunately, the experience has fallen short, especially considering the price.

What works:
	•	Heat and cold functions operate.
	•	Compression activates.

Major issues:
	•	The wrap is not very pliable. The folds press directly into incision areas, which is uncomfortable post-surgery.
	•	The unit is heavier than expected when mobility is already limited.
	•	It only compresses? It DOES NOT provide a true compress/decompress cycle to actively promote circulation. The marketing makes it easy to assume dynamic compression, but that is not how it functions. STATIC COMPRESSION ONLY.
	•	Bluetooth is essentially non-existent. I’m using a iPhone 16 Pro Max with updated software and the device does not reliably sync or connect at ALL. The app experience is unusable.
	•	Customer support consists mostly of troubleshooting videos. There is no accessible live technical support when the device won’t connect.

For the amount of money this costs, you expect seamless connectivity, comfort, and clarity in how the compression works. Instead, it feels like a premium price WITHOUT a premium experience.

If you just want basic heat/cold with STATIC COMPRESSION, it may suffice. But if you’re expecting dynamic recovery support and integrated app functionality, this device DOES NOT DELIVER.

### 2/5 — Terrible UI

*2026-01-08, version 2.7.0*

Agree with other reviewers, the app is a promotion for other hyperice products, but other than that…nothing. UI for controlling your Normatec - terrible. Outdated. Old. Not user friendly. Hard to understand what you are changing.
This should be improved alot!
Another thing, you can’t register your product via app (((

### 2/5 — IP16 ProMax don’t fit screen.

*2025-12-10, version 2.6.21*

I would definitely give this item a five star review, but the app is not properly sized for the Pro. Max and I have items missing off the screen ;/ but as a functioning device, I’m definitely impressed!

### 2/5 — No Hyperice X2 Routines

*2025-10-16, version 2.6.18*

I just got a X2 Shoulder device and was looking for routines. I used the device filter and there are none! I could see routines for the X1 that cannot be loaded for X2

### 2/5 — over inflated my boots

*2025-10-09, version 2.6.18*

everytime i use the app it ends up over inflating the legs and the zipper will just blow off and i gotta fix it. This never happens when i just set up my boots using the normatec 3 that’s connected to it

### 2/5 — Horrible app

*2025-08-23, version 2.6.15*

This app is horrible! It’s not user friendly at all. There are no routines for individual sports, only for body parts. Also, when using a routine the app doesn’t tell you which head to use (without going to second screen) and doesn’t tell you when to switch sides of the body (left/right). When compared to the Theragun app it becomes even more frustrating and lacking! You also have to reset the routines filter every time you go into the app if you only want to see your favorites and not the whole list of cryptic routines. I’m ready to return what might be a good device because the app is so terrible!

### 3/5 — The app…works

*2025-08-21, version 2.6.14*

It does what it says on the tin, controls your hyperice devices. However, it’s severely lacking in design and user experience.

The majority of the main screen is taken up by product advertising or third party service integration. It takes far longer than you’d expect to get a routine started. Every other day I do the exact same routine for each shoulder and I have to hunt around to find it. Their design priorities are totally off for the user.

### 4/5 — Amazing devices but app needs a UI refresh

*2025-08-18, version 2.6.14*

I love my Hyperice X knee. It’s completely changed my recovery and as a hybrid athlete this is something I really really value. That being said the app does look like it was designed 10 years ago so I know that Hyperice is probably working on this, but I think for the user experience and the money spent on the devices the app should reflect that money. The UI just seems a little bit old and it is a little bit difficult to swipe between different workouts. I wish there was a little bit easier than an interface within the app. Otherwise, the devices that I have purchased so far are amazing. Keep up the great work with the recovery tech!

### 1/5 — No feature

*2025-08-05, version 2.6.14*

Still no feature to see history

### 1/5 — Venom 2

*2025-06-04, version 2.6.10*

Stopped working after 2 months and cannot get any help from zHypericr

### 1/5 — App not functioning

*2025-05-29, version 2.6.10*

I just bought the new hyperice but the app isn’t working to use it. Won’t even let me set up an account

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2025-05-27, version 2.6.10*

Can’t get past the profile setup. It keeps kicking me back to the first step.
Despite quitting and relaunching the app, deleting and redownloading the app, the issue persists. Infuriating. Considering returning the Normatec Elite device altogether.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2026-07-05, version 2.7.8*

Keeps asking for login during every use

### 1/5 — Buggy app

*2026-03-11, version 2.7.3*

Worked well for a while but the latest updates just make it crash on iOS. The app is absolutely worthless now and just a black screen. doesn’t matter if you uninstall or do anything, it just doesn’t work at all anymore.

### 1/5 — Notifications Based on Apple Health Activity

*2026-03-04, version 2.7.2*

I get notifications based on yesterday’s activity to suggest a routine. This is great. When I open the notification, I’m greeted by a black screen. Nothing happens. Please fix this app.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI no zone boost for legs elite

*2026-02-11, version 2.7.2*

Agree with other reviewers, the app is a promotion for other hyperice products, but other than that…nothing. UI for controlling your Normatec - terrible. Outdated. Old. Not user friendly. Hard to understand what you are changing.
This should be improved alot!
Another thing, you can’t register your product via app (((
Upd: there is now way to setup zone boost for elite legs :( which multiply by zero functionality of the app

### 1/5 — Application appearance

*2026-02-03, version 2.7.1*

Application appearance and design is not well designed and the old version was better design. With iPhone 16 the app looks like need a lot of tailoring even after update.

### 1/5 — Cannot connect to X2 knee

*2026-01-23, version 2.7.1*

Have never successfully connected to my X2. Get various errors within a second or two every single time.

### 1/5 — Terrible UI

*2026-01-11, version 2.7.0*

Agree with other reviewers, the app is a promotion for other hyperice products, but other than that…nothing. UI for controlling your Normatec - terrible. Outdated. Old. Not user friendly. Hard to understand what you are changing.

### 1/5 — Lacks Custom Percussion Patterns

*2025-12-04, version 2.6.21*

The current app really needs custom routines. The current laggy integration and slide bar between the 3 levels of the hypervolt 2 leaves everything to be desired.

### 1/5 — Bring the old app back!

*2025-11-16, version 2.6.21*

DONT UPDATE YOUR APP. The new version is awful, nothing works. I add the devices but the start button is unresponsive. No normatec 3 routines show up when filtering. After multiple times closing and reopening the app they did show up however when I start the routine the countdown timer is active but nothing is happening. Ugh how did this pass quality control?!?

### 1/5 — Update doesn’t connect

*2025-09-27, version 2.6.17*

The new update will not connect to my older device rendering it useless. Also many of the sliders don’t work properly. The update is tedious and dripping with superfluous options. Normatec lease hire a new tech company and fix it.

Also, please send me an updated device now that you have made my boots unusable.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incredible Company

*2026-01-21, version 2.7.1*

Almost every device is amazing — HypericeX2 line and Normatek Elite and Go stand out for me. App has some good routines and bluetooth connection for the devices. Although some of the newer devices don’t have routines yet.

### 5/5 — Great hardware, but app UI needs some updating

*2025-07-16, version 2.6.13*

I love my Hyperice X Knee, a total game changer for recovery but the app UI needs some updating, it seems a bit outdated and subpar for hardware cost. The device itself makes up for it but they should update the app UI ASAP for optimal user experience :)

### 5/5 — Feedback & Pro Athlete Experience

*2025-05-29, version 2.6.10*

I love using the app! I don’t have to reach places to control the device and I can simply view the time remaining from my phone. I do however wish that swiping between devices was easier allowing for quicker and simpler access.

### 5/5 — 3 Days in …

*2025-04-18, version 2.6.8*

Well I must say, I’m 3 days now into using this app

Really like it .. great work all 👍

### 5/5 — HyperSmart score not calculating

*2023-04-18, version 2.4.0*

EDIT: Score is calculating after the update. 5/5 app now

App is great other than my score not being calculated and it’s telling me i have a 0.0 which is “critical”. Annoying to look at when i’m using my device multiple times per day. Device is a Vyper 3

### 5/5 — Has potential

*2022-11-15*

Update: latest update has listened to customer feedback, thank you!

Original: With a heavy pricetag and having certain things only able to be performed from within the app, the app experience should match the pricetag of the product, and at the moment it does not. I am an app developer and with some very simple and obvious bug fixes you would probably raise most people's 1/2 stars to a 3/4 alone. I've honestly debated returning the product due to the app experience but hey big companies understand monopolies and where to cut costs and they decided the app was it. Poor user experience. Let an exec use the app for twenty minutes trying all different user stories and you'll probably get the budget pretty quickly, if there's any care for user's experience.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2022-06-01, version 2.1.4*

Very good app. Way better than the Therabody app. I love the videos and explanations. It’s really good to be able to see what to do rather than just be explained without any demonstration.

### 5/5 — Great App and Technology

*2020-12-06*

I have both the Hypervolt and the Hypersphere Mini - if you aren’t using any of this technology you really should. I am not an elite athlete by any means but this helps cut down recovery time tremendously and keeps me moving.

Hyperice, the guided routines and suggestions are great - would you allow me to make one? Please, please, please allow users to enter their own usage into the app or make the app capable of running in the background. I have a terrible Hyperice score despite using the equipment almost daily because I can’t keep the app running the entire time. Thanks for considering.

### 5/5 — The perfect companion for the Hyperice devices!

*2020-11-08*

UPDATED REVIEW. I gave this app five stars a couple months ago. Wish I could give it five more stars and some. The app just keeps getting better. They just added vocal coaching instructions to go along with music and video when you’re using the HyperSmart app. I’ve been using this app for a couple month along with my HyperVolt Plus with Bluetooth. I can honestly say there seems to be improvements made to the app regularly. It is better today than when I used it two months ago. I provided feedback on several occasions and see that my input was received and improvements implemented. It’s great when a company is willing to listen to feedback from it’s users and then constantly use that feedback from its users to make improvements to their products. No wonder they are number one in their respective market. They are winners and they work with winners from KOBE and the NBA, NBL, NFL, soccer, track and field and tennis with three time grand slam world champion Naomi Osaki. No wonder they are the official partners of the NBA. Kudos to the entire Hyperice team... you guys do businesses the right way. Keep winning!!

### 5/5 — I love this app and device

*2020-09-24, version 1.02.1*

As a Marathoner, weight training, IronMan trainee I love this device and app combo!! The best recovery tool out on the market!! I seriously love the specific recovery exercises specific to our needs. My sincerest thanks and kuddos to the builders of this app that incorporate your specific activity and alert to a recovery massage to help your body recover!! Amazing absolutely amazing job HYPERICE to being the pioneers and breakthrough technology and specifics to our needs as an athlete!!!
