## What is hyperPad iPad Game Maker?

Turn your iPad into a complete game studio.

hyperPad is a powerful visual game engine built specifically for iPad. Design, build, test, and publish real 2D games entirely on-device using touch-first tools and visual node-based logic instead of traditional coding.

### 5/5 — Super powerful and superb!

*2026-06-14*

I’ve made dozens of games on this puppy and it’s given me endless entertainment. It’s so powerful and easy to use at the same time! It’s impossible to overstate how much I love this app. I’ve made RPG’s, Platformers, Five Nights at Freddy’s Clones, and more! Letting us import our own music and graphics makes our games endlessly customizable! Keep up the great work guys! If I had one suggestion, it’d be to please make a behavior for letting us easily control a platformer character with keyboard controls, it’d be awesome. I’m sure there’s already some way to do this exact idea I’m suggesting, but if they made this update, it’d broaden the horizons of this app far more!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your detailed feedback. We’re thrilled to hear how much you’re enjoying creating games on iPad with hyperPad. One of our main goals is to give indie developers and solo creators the power to make iPad games exactly how they want — from RPGs and platformers to puzzle games and multiplayer experiences. It’s great to hear you’re exploring visual coding, importing assets, and testing gameplay quickly, as that’s exactly what we built hyperPad for.

If you’re ever looking for more tips or examples while learning advanced features like multiplayer, our tutorials on YouTube and the hyperPad Forum are excellent resources. We’re excited to see what you’ll create next! Do tag us on socials with #hyperpad as you share your game development journey.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-04-13*

Great App for learning Game development and actually build a game. The community is very helpful and supportive with working through the drag and drop behaviors. The Admin team is very active. There for support, fun game jams, and eager to listen and build on user ideas. Easily a 5 out of 5!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! We’re thrilled to hear that hyperPad is helping you learn game design, build playable game prototypes, and turn them into real games you can publish and sell on the App Store. Our goal is to make visual scripting, level design, and asset management accessible so creators at any skill level can focus on gameplay, creativity, and bringing their ideas to life. We can’t wait to see your next game project hit the Hub, and the App Store!

### 5/5 — Too Good

*2026-03-27*

Going on two years the experience has been amazing. I've made several small games and feel confident (already am) moving on to larger projects.
The devs actively add nuances and capacities while listening to the community, the software is approachable but fully capable for anything I can imagine/is compatible with my other workflows, other users are cool, developing on tablet is smooth(ist)... Really really good

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! You've captured the spirit of what we're building with hyperPad perfectly. Our goal has always been to give creators the power of a full game engine, with no code required, no royalties taken, and no monthly fees. It’s awesome to hear you've been exploring the visual behaviours like conditionals, math, arrays, and more. They're the heart of how you can make your own games and bring complex ideas to life. And yes, with every update, we’re expanding what’s possible. We’re just as excited for the future of the hyperPad Hub, seeing more indie games made entirely on iPad is what drives us. Thanks again for being part of the journey!

### 5/5 — Best Game Design App for Education

*2026-01-28*

I have used HyperPad with literally dozens of schools around Australia and it’s always a hit with the students and teachers. So much you can do around coding concepts, design, problem solving, and the ability to import student character designs and GarageBand soundtracks. Just brilliant all round and I highly recommend it!

**Developer response:** Thank you for such a thoughtful and encouraging review!

It’s fantastic to hear how hyperPad has resonated with so many Apple schools across Australia. Seeing students and teachers connect with iPad game development through visual coding, design, and problem-solving is exactly what hyperPad is about. Your mention of importing student artwork and GarageBand soundtracks perfectly captures how creativity and learning come together in the classroom. hyperPad is compatible with so many iPad apps.

We truly appreciate the recommendation and the incredible work you’re doing to inspire a new generation of creators through EdTech!

### 5/5 — It learned me how to make it better

*2026-01-25, version 2.4*

I like it. It’s so fun. I like the learning.

### 1/5 — Entirely Scammed

*2025-11-29, version 2.4*

Not only does it cause my IPad to crash frequently now but also, it was connected to my gmail account and everything else connected to it has been getting corrupted, so I entirely just lost 15 bucks and my gmail account because google couldn’t save it, I wouldn’t recommend this with a small iPad or with your gmail account. :[

### 5/5 — Great for Beginners

*2025-11-03, version 2.3*

Great for learning game design and actually making games that work and can be sold in the App Store!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-10-04, version 2.2*

Great engine for learning and building games for sale or educational purposes.

### 4/5 — Update menu crashes the app

*2025-09-28*

Once i got the menu to stop popping up i have no idea how it stoped crashing but for solid hour i was just trying to get into the app without it crashing now that its stable though i will say im very happy with the tools avalable

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your experience, and we appreciate your patience. We are sorry to hear you initially had trouble. That is not the experience we aim to provide. We are glad to know everything is running smoothly now and that you are enjoying the game developing tools and features available in hyperPad. If you ever encounter any issues again, please feel free to reach out so we can assist. Your feedback helps us continue improving the game making experience for everyone.

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly and needs work in loads of areas

*2025-09-20*

I got HyperPad and it’s in simple terms… janky and clunky. I have had hyperPad for maybe a year, and I never use it bc it will randomly crash, the tutorial is honestly dog-water 💦. And the whole UI system is annoying af, having to import an image or take smth from the TINY amount of variety in the downloadable ones is SUPER inconvenient. You need to add something like in Scratch, where you can draw one, cuz otherwise, I won’t change the rating

**Developer response:** We hear you. hyperPad is always evolving and updating to the latest version will help reduce problems. We highly recommend that you report crashes as and when they happen. Our tutorials and UI were made in collaboration with high-performing users who have made excellent games with our platform. Do share with us on our global Forum what you’d like the tutorials to cover.

While we understand your frustration, the asset library is just a sample option, made for beginners to try out our powerful behaviours. We encourage our users to get creative and import their own custom art when creating games on iPad.

Thank you for supporting hyperPad! We look forward to seeing you create games on iPad. If you have any questions or concerns, do share your own ideas on our Forum.
