### 3/5 — So hard

*2025-07-12, version 2.1*

I cried so much because I have to put in like hours like 33

### 4/5 — Newest update ruined my game! (Edit: Most bugs have been fixed)

*2025-06-26, version 2.1*

HyperPad has ruined my BEST game, my pride and joy, with the newest update. The sounds are completely messed up, some of them don’t even play, the music is super low and the sound effects are super loud, collision behaviors don’t work, the loading screen I made no longer loads, music is clunky and stops playing when pause, and the gameplay is completely useless now because random behaviors just don’t work like they used to. My whole game was ruined. I feel like crying. I spent months in this game, and with one update that I downloaded, all my hard work… down the drain. If you don’t fix this I don’t know what I’ll do. I’m so sad. Please do something. I know it’s not the devs fault but help.
Update: Edited for connotation.

EDIT 06/26/2025: Most of the bugs have been fixed! I’m so happy that the HyperPad team was responsive and able to pinpoint my issues. Of course there’s much more to be fixed, but a huge shoutout to their ambassador for helping me during this process!

### 5/5 — I wonder what it does.

*2025-05-27, version 2.1*

I just downloaded it and I really wonder what it does.

**Developer response:** Hi, sorry you’re having issues with the update. We’re currently working on a bug fix update. Could you send us an email so we can get more information on your issues? We should have a TestFlight beta addressing these issues in the next few days as well so let us know if you’d like to be added to that in the meantime time.

Once again sorry for the issues and we’re working on getting everything sorted out for you!

### 5/5 — W GAME

*2025-05-08, version 2.0*

so this is good like really GOOD but I can’t figure out how to add assets

### 4/5 — Great app but…

*2025-04-21, version 2.0*

I’m not very good at dev creation thing and it’s hard and I have to make my own sprites I don’t wanna use the free one and I don’t have an apple pen (my device dosent support apple pen) and it kicks me out hopefully you read this and understand my problem

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-04-12, version 2.0*

This no coding expert experience is great but when you export it does it go in the hub I don’t want it in the store.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal!

*2025-04-12, version 2.0*

This app is just phenomenal. It took me a while to learn the basics, but the power that these behaviors have is just insane. I can code RPG’s, 2D platformers, FNAF clones, puzzle games, and way more with it. I’ve even seen other people make online MULTIPLAYER games! (I have no idea how they did, but I’m still learning lol) Importing graphics, sprites, music, particles, and fonts is just icing on the cake. You can truly make a game like how YOU want it. The coding is also lightning fast once you learn it!! You can quickly run your code and check how everything works as well. It’s just next level! Also, the support over emails is fantastic too. I’ve gotten a lot of help from the actual devs of this app! Please give this puppy a try. HyperPad is tragically underrated!

### 5/5 — Scratch & castle gotta put their website together 😭

*2025-03-07, version 2.0*

*2025-02-25, version 2.0*

This app is best for iOS people nice at coding very good⭐️

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2025-01-17*

I cannot insert my music on GarageBand and I’m really mad about it because I spent a lot of time on one of my GarageBand songs and now I cannot use it to upload it to hyperPad because it’s not supported fix that and then I’ll read it five star I read it four star Other than that it’s pretty good

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! We're sorry to hear you're having trouble adding your custom songs. Please note that we do support GarageBand. For assistance, check out our Zendesk tutorials, post your questions on our forum, or join our Discord community for further guidance on game dev. ### 5/5 — Go with this app

*2025-01-07*

I did not wanna pay $15 but I did and I think you guys should lower down the price and then you maybe will get a lot more people to get your app it’s helpful and easy to make games. I can’t wait to make a good one, but that that will be in the future just maybe roll down the price please but keep up the good work and maybe more options if you keep it $15 it’s expensive but it’s a good game or good game maker and I have another question. Can you update the games to the App Store and if you can’t can you try?

**Developer response:** Hi there! Thank you so much for your feedback and support. We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying hyperPad and finding it helpful for game dev on iPad. Your suggestion about pricing is valuable, and we'll definitely share it with the team as we’re always looking for ways to make hyperPad more accessible. As for uploading games to the App Store—yes, you can absolutely do that with hyperPad! We're here to empower creators like you with our no-code game maker, making it easy to bring your ideas to life. Stay tuned for more updates and new features, and keep creating—we can't wait to see the amazing game you’ll make in the future! 😊

### 4/5 — Great but one thing

*2024-12-31, version 2.0*

So a thing i would like is normal coding like java or c++ and a 3d mode

### 5/5 — Phenomenal!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Entirely Scammed

*2025-11-29, version 2.4*

Not only does it cause my IPad to crash frequently now but also, it was connected to my gmail account and everything else connected to it has been getting corrupted, so I entirely just lost 15 bucks and my gmail account because google couldn’t save it, I wouldn’t recommend this with a small iPad or with your gmail account. :[

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly and needs work in loads of areas

*2025-09-20*

I got HyperPad and it’s in simple terms… janky and clunky. I have had hyperPad for maybe a year, and I never use it bc it will randomly crash, the tutorial is honestly dog-water 💦. And the whole UI system is annoying af, having to import an image or take smth from the TINY amount of variety in the downloadable ones is SUPER inconvenient. You need to add something like in Scratch, where you can draw one, cuz otherwise, I won’t change the rating

**Developer response:** We hear you. hyperPad is always evolving and updating to the latest version will help reduce problems. We highly recommend that you report crashes as and when they happen. Our tutorials and UI were made in collaboration with high-performing users who have made excellent games with our platform. Do share with us on our global Forum what you’d like the tutorials to cover.

While we understand your frustration, the asset library is just a sample option, made for beginners to try out our powerful behaviours. We encourage our users to get creative and import their own custom art when creating games on iPad.

Thank you for supporting hyperPad! We look forward to seeing you create games on iPad. If you have any questions or concerns, do share your own ideas on our Forum.

### 1/5 — PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A WAY TO ACTUALLY🥺

*2025-08-14, version 2.1*

PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A WAY TO DELETE APPS FOR REAL IN THE APP STORE!?

### 1/5 — The game crashes in the opening slides

*2025-03-03, version 2.0*

Fix please it crashes right when you first go in

### 1/5 — Buyer beware

*2025-03-01, version 2.0*

They charge you monthly even though it doesn’t show up under subscriptions and they don’t mention it when you purchase. Neither is it listed how to cancel.

### 1/5 — Sprite

*2024-11-01, version 2.0*

I really like the app I just wish they made a system where u can make sprites/sounds in the app like I scratch where there is a canvas and u can make sprites if u could do that I would be happy:)

### 1/5 — Login won’t work

*2024-06-23, version 1.40*

Why??

### 1/5 — The app crashes

*2024-01-13*

I would of give this app a 4 or 5 star if only the developer team ere responsible enough to reply me about an issue I’ve been having since I bought this app days ago. The background button doesn’t work, every time I try to resize an image the app crashes immediately. Like I said before I sent several complains to the company and NONE! Have the decency to reply me back with a solution.

**Developer response:** We sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We’ve received your email and have responded with details about your issue. The crashes you’re experiencing should be resolved in the upcoming 1.40 update, which addresses these bugs. Thank you for your patience, and we’re committed to ensuring your experience with game dev on iPad is as smooth as possible! 🌟

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2023-03-20, version 1.34*

I can’t believe I spent my birthday money on this piece of crap just a waste and my mom is so upset with me and the same happened the other day I wasted £9 on goat simulator that was the same as the pocket edition

### 1/5 — buggy app

*2023-01-24, version 1.33*

If it worked, this could be a great app. But it crashed in the middle of the tutorial, and there wasn’t even a way to get the tutorial back. Even the help function delivered the following nasty error message:
{"error":"invalid_token","error_description":"The access token is invalid","state":"unauthorized"}
Too bad - i will change my review if it’s fixed and works!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Super powerful and superb!

*2026-06-14*

I’ve made dozens of games on this puppy and it’s given me endless entertainment. It’s so powerful and easy to use at the same time! It’s impossible to overstate how much I love this app. I’ve made RPG’s, Platformers, Five Nights at Freddy’s Clones, and more! Letting us import our own music and graphics makes our games endlessly customizable! Keep up the great work guys! If I had one suggestion, it’d be to please make a behavior for letting us easily control a platformer character with keyboard controls, it’d be awesome. I’m sure there’s already some way to do this exact idea I’m suggesting, but if they made this update, it’d broaden the horizons of this app far more!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your detailed feedback. We’re thrilled to hear how much you’re enjoying creating games on iPad with hyperPad. One of our main goals is to give indie developers and solo creators the power to make iPad games exactly how they want — from RPGs and platformers to puzzle games and multiplayer experiences. ### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-04-13*

Great App for learning Game development and actually build a game. The community is very helpful and supportive with working through the drag and drop behaviors. The Admin team is very active. There for support, fun game jams, and eager to listen and build on user ideas. Easily a 5 out of 5!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much! We’re thrilled to hear that hyperPad is helping you learn game design, build playable game prototypes, and turn them into real games you can publish and sell on the App Store. Our goal is to make visual scripting, level design, and asset management accessible so creators at any skill level can focus on gameplay, creativity, and bringing their ideas to life. We can’t wait to see your next game project hit the Hub, and the App Store!

### 5/5 — Too Good

*2026-03-27*

Going on two years the experience has been amazing. I've made several small games and feel confident (already am) moving on to larger projects.
The devs actively add nuances and capacities while listening to the community, the software is approachable but fully capable for anything I can imagine/is compatible with my other workflows, other users are cool, developing on tablet is smooth(ist)... Really really good

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! You've captured the spirit of what we're building with hyperPad perfectly. Our goal has always been to give creators the power of a full game engine, with no code required, no royalties taken, and no monthly fees. It’s awesome to hear you've been exploring the visual behaviours like conditionals, math, arrays, and more. They're the heart of how you can make your own games and bring complex ideas to life. And yes, with every update, we’re expanding what’s possible. We’re just as excited for the future of the hyperPad Hub, seeing more indie games made entirely on iPad is what drives us. Thanks again for being part of the journey!

### 5/5 — Best Game Design App for Education

*2026-01-28*

I have used HyperPad with literally dozens of schools around Australia and it’s always a hit with the students and teachers. So much you can do around coding concepts, design, problem solving, and the ability to import student character designs and GarageBand soundtracks. Just brilliant all round and I highly recommend it!

**Developer response:** Thank you for such a thoughtful and encouraging review!

It’s fantastic to hear how hyperPad has resonated with so many Apple schools across Australia. Seeing students and teachers connect with iPad game development through visual coding, design, and problem-solving is exactly what hyperPad is about. Your mention of importing student artwork and GarageBand soundtracks perfectly captures how creativity and learning come together in the classroom. hyperPad is compatible with so many iPad apps.

We truly appreciate the recommendation and the incredible work you’re doing to inspire a new generation of creators through EdTech!

### 5/5 — It learned me how to make it better

*2026-01-25, version 2.4*

I like it. It’s so fun. I like the learning.

### 5/5 — Great for Beginners

*2025-11-03, version 2.3*

Great for learning game design and actually making games that work and can be sold in the App Store!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-10-04, version 2.2*

Great engine for learning and building games for sale or educational purposes.

### 5/5 — I can make talking games

*2025-07-20, version 2.1*

heset yoshimura

### 5/5 — Great

*2025-07-13, version 2.1*

Lots of ways to be creative and build a game on an ipad.

### 5/5 — Pretty Crazy

*2025-06-09, version 2.1*

I've been using HyperPad for... I think over a year. It's been great. Behaviors are code functions in visual blocks. You still have your conditional, math, array, etc functions you just drag and drop instead of write out the syntax.
It seems like a matter of time until people realize HyperPad is a complete engine with no percentage on sales for a one time fee less than what Adobe charges monthly for Photoshop (and there's a separate free starter version of HyperPad in the store).
It's pretty crazy we don't as of yet know what all HyperPad is capable of since the regular performance updates by the dev team. The hub is going to be rad as more catch on.
