It would be great if in the analytics it didn’t cost the solar power which is free. It costs it all at the tariff rate you set in the app. As the app can identify where the power is coming from it should be able to give you an accurate cost. ### 3/5 — Drops WiFi *2026-07-01, version 6.7.2* Would be great if I didn’t have to keep switching off at mains, when it drops WiFi. ### 4/5 — Tariffs *2026-06-23, version 6.7.1* Just started using the app and charger. So far so good. Just one point. On the page where one enters the tariffs it should make clear if these should be quoted including or excluding Vat. ### 2/5 — Needs improvement *2026-06-14* Kind of regretting going for a Hypervolt now. Firstly, the app has stopped calculating the electricity charges based on my tariff. It worked for the first week after install and then had just stopped. My biggest bugbear though is if I need to charge outside of the schedule. I have to turn it off, then remember to turn it back on. Why not have a turn on until the next schedule. This is the biggest pain and surely could be sorted out quite easily. Lesson learned, you need to dive in way more before purchasing. ### 4/5 — Great App just add iPhone widgets *2026-05-13, version 6.6.4* Great app great charger just add widgets please as I charge my car everyday and I do not always remember to check the app and once or twice the car has only charged at 1kw so if I saw the widget I could stop charging remove charger and charge again which rectify the rate issue ### 4/5 — Good Charger & App *2026-03-28* I find the charger and its features great specially for solar, however I would like to see more app features like widgets so you can see live data on the home screen or lock screen for a quick glance. Would also be good to add some more customisation to the LEDs so you can pick a solid colour or individual LEDs to make your own combo if your into that. would be good also to have a bit more compatibility with tariffs such as I’m with octopus go tariff but this doesn’t show and data on the app such as costings etc. ### 2/5 — Unable to export reports *2026-03-08, version 6.5.4* Latest version does not allow the export of reports as PDF. Two improvements please 1) Further adjustability of the brightness of the LEDs. 50% is too much, but 25% is too little. 5% increments would be nice. 2) For the ‘Ultra’ feature, I’ve been through the setup and the feature is not available with my provider at present. As the feature is therefore known not to be available, please suppress it; I would like the banner to be removed from the home screen as it’s distracting and occupies real estate. Often charging does not happen because my Home Pro 3 fails to wake the car up. The Hypervolt app often says that there is no charging schedule in place when the Octopus app has notified me with full timings for the charging that has been scheduled Can often be a struggle to lock and unlock the charger ### 4/5 — More colour *2025-11-25* Two months in and everything is going smoothly, we like the way you can change the charge points colours to match your mood or occasion i.e.halloween although once you’ve tried this you’ll probably never do it again. It would be good if you could change the colours or tag events in the analytic and usage pages within the app to show easily which vehicle was plugged in to the charger to better monitor each vehicles usage over the month for households with more than one EV. Octopus Go integration is working well. I have two feature requests. First please make it an option for the charger to go on standby rather than Eco when Octopus Intelligent is not charging. I don’t have solar and this “waiting for solar” message is just weird. Also some solar users might prefer to sell their power to the grid rather than charging the car. This was a really useful tool on the App which is why I have downgraded my rating to 1 star. ### 1/5 — Ultra mode *2026-06-16, version 6.7.1* App now doesn’t show costs of charging despite tariff with the app. Ultra mode - cannot unlink it from the app and charger is now stuck with Ultra mode. Customer services being really slow with responses. ### 1/5 — Unable to lock charger *2025-04-16, version 6.2.0* I too am unable to lock the charger as of recently. It is stuck ‘pending’. It was working fine before. Happy to delete my review if it can be promptly fixed. ### 1/5 — Useless don’t waste your time *2024-12-01* Ideally I’d rate the app as 0 stars. As a software engineer and someone who has my own apps on this very App Store I cannot recommend Hypervolt at all. The app is buggy as hell, never shows a correct status of the physical charger. That’s without the fact that the physical charger fails to work on 50% of the time. As the title says don’t waste your time, Hypervolt is not a premium brand or service for EV chargers, save yourself the headaches I’m facing on a regular basis and probably save yourself money going with any brand! **Developer response:** Hi there, Thank you for sharing your experience. Why update a working reliable app! The old version worked really well but this one seems to be deliberately designed to cause anger and frustration by hiding all the useful stuff beneath layers of pointless shiny icons. I plug it in when I get home from work, the charger charges my car from midnight till 5:30am. I don’t need any more from the charger, it’s doing its job. With regards to the app, I hardly ever open it, I don’t see why I need to.
