Unfortunately Hyre doesn’t seem to be available for Southern Indiana &/or Kentucky workers.😩 ### 5/5 — Been on for 6 months and I’m happy I joined! *2023-02-06* I just moved to Toronto a yr ago and came across this app. Signed up and was approved the same day. Sorry to hear that you had issues. Hyre (marketplace) is actually not available in the US yet. Meaning, you can't sign up and pick up shifts as a contractor. What we do have launched in the US: Our scheduling mobile application. IF your employers use Hyre to schedule shifts for you, you would be able to login and pick up their shifts as well as view your assigned shifts. Sorry for the confusion! We are planning on launching our marketplace in the US in the future - when that happens, we hope you try to pick up shifts. If your employer chooses to schedule your schedule with Hyre, we will see you soon. :) ### 5/5 — Flexible, fast paced, and fun! *2019-10-21* I love working through Hyre! I've only been on the app for a few months. I keep getting more work and its pretty fun Cool app :) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Punishes its employees for being harassed. *2026-06-08* Hyre sent me to work at different events across Ottawa and when I got harassed they fired me on the basis of my lateness. I always had trouble leaving my house because of the terrible places this agencies sent me to work at. The first one was Shaw center for dishwashing shifts. There was an old Chinese lady who was super short like me. She was always happy to see me, always made me her personal assistant. She would yell so much lacking different ways of communicating or words in English. This was very distressing to me. The other place was infinity convention center, the lady managers were too strict. Overworked us on server shifts. Maintained tabs too much. I was sent on a house man shift there a few times and in stacking chair with the superintendent he constantly asked for hugs. I remember working at the end of the year construction company party at National art center and the workers were so drunk, making racist jokes, older men hitting on me,… it was horrible. When I told Hyre what had happened to me, they reduced my pay. Mind you I had always been late for 2 years but after much harassment was happening to m and I reported it. They decided to fire me when I left a shift at Brookstreet hotel before the end of the shift. A manager there kept yelling and insulting me because someone left a tray in the hallway that looked like mine. After I found that person and she told her it was not me, she didn’t even apologize for insulting me. My head started hurting, emotions were running high and I told the other manager, I was not feeling well, told Hyre. They fired me. ### 1/5 — So bad *2024-07-30* They never give you all star usually you get the cheap payment also they still from the payment I try it in a lot of shift same plus I cancelled shift before 2 day they charge me 150 ### 1/5 — The new update isn’t working!!! *2024-05-28* I have updated the app this morning but it has been loading, it doesn’t show everything as it was showing before. It’s for the worst and it doesn’t allow you to click on any option. Please review it! Your Orientation Video has no sound (yes my phone volume is up) and the button is greyed out even after watching. Don’t bother trying to click help or faq because the links don’t even go anywhere or do anything. **Developer response:** Hi qtywueie, Sorry for your experience. Hyre (marketplace) is not available in the US at the moment. Our app is only available for Staff who have employers who post their shifts on Hyre for their internal employees.
