They claim to have an array of employers but honestly, it is the same two orgs and the postings from Hyr itself are already ‘booked’ by the time they list. I think this app is a data farming scheme ### 1/5 — Do not register *2020-06-16, version 3.0.0* They do not take your data privacy seriously, you cannot delete your account through the app. I’ve had to send multiple e-mails requesting them to delete my information and data I provided when I created an account but they keep saying that they have only “deactivated” my account and I should delete the app from my phone. This is not sufficient and not the equivalent of my request. Be careful when registering on this app! ### 1/5 — Terrible! *2020-02-27, version 2.2.2* Horrible app, with no jobs. Asked for them to delete my account and they said they’d suspend it, and stopped answering my emails. So it has not been deleted! ### 1/5 — Not getting hired for any shifts. *2020-01-24, version 2.2.2* I have been using this app for over a month now n I have not got a single shift yet. I have even turned on the post notifications so that I can be the first one to apply for a new ad which gets posted but there seems to be no response of me being selected for the shift. After applying and in sometime the shift shows it’s filled and I can’t even see it in my upcoming shifts to confirm m even selected or not. M starting feel this is a fraud app. No matter how many jobs I apply I for, I never get it. ### 4/5 — Good for short term work *2019-12-14, version 2.2.2* I’ve been using Hyr for about 3 months now and I am happy. Excellent source for quick work and you get paid fast (3 business days). Once a company hires you, and you show your skills, they usually hire you back. You’ll have to be patient in getting work bc you are competing against other people for the shift. It was frustrating at first because you want to work. The support I’v received from Hyr staff is quick. Overall, I recommend Hyr. ### 4/5 — Long time Hyr pro! *2019-12-10, version 2.2.2* I’ve been using the app for quite a while and overall I enjoy using it as a way to make extra cash, but wouldn’t advise using it as a full-time method of income. I also suggest people keep in mind that this is an employment platform, and you should treat it as such! I’ve worked many shifts where people either don’t show up, or sneak off early and it really hurts the companies who choose to give you the work through Hyr. The things I love about Hyr: I usually get quick feedback/support of tech or payment issues if they arrive. The member of management I speak to most often replies quickly and with solutions! It’s also helped me meet great work connections and get more consistent work through their clients. Payment is usually quick and easy, and I enjoy having Hyr as an option to pick up shifts. Problems I have with Hyr: My app only works on wifi. I’ve reported the issue multiple times and team members have always told me there’s no issue within the app and there isn’t anything they can do for me. I find this most frustrating when I show up to a shift and cannot clock in or out because they don’t have a wifi server for me to log on to. All in all I give it 4 stars because I’ve had a great experience working through Hyr but there are many ways in which it could be improved. 😊 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Garbage! *2025-05-28, version 3.0.0* The app does not work. I’ve downloaded it and redownloaded it over and over. I just want to delete my account and my personal information from the app and it will not work. Customer support is nonexistent. Save yourself the headache.
