Despite the app, we ordered and installed another fandelier but will have to take it down and send it back because the app does not support multiple devices so it’s not possible to change the light color on that light. ### 1/5 — DOES NOT WORK and no way of contacting them *2023-03-31, version 1.81* The ceiling lamp and app were poorly designed by some random people in China and not an actual company. The Bluetooth does not connect, and there is no way of contacting the people that made the app and lamp. If you click on the support/feedback button in the app, the app crashes. In the App Store description they do have a link to a support webpage, but the whole thing is in Chinese. They don’t have any email address or phone number that you can contact for support. DO NOT buy Chinese made stuff unless it’s made by well known companies (Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo, etc). It will always be poorly designed and come with instructions in terrible English. You can tell it’s bad if it comes with instructions in terrible English, there is no company name, there is no company website for the product, or all of the above. I got this lamp for my birthday in 2017, and it came with an app that actually worked. Since then the app has been removed from the App Store and replaced by this app and a few others, and none of them work. The light still pairs with my old phone, but not with my new phone, so if I want to listen to music on the light’s speaker, I have to use my old phone. Because the original app that actually worked is gone, and this one doesn’t work, I can’t use any of the light’s other features. Also I’m pretty sure the people who designed the app just machine translated the whole interface to English. There’s still Chinese text in some places. The one thing that Chinese and Americans have in common is that they’re lazy monolinguals. In India you need to speak 2-3 languages fluently in order to be successful. I speak 3 and my dad speaks 4. The same is true across Europe. At some point I will also learn Mandarin because many Chinese don’t know English; so it will be useful. ### 1/5 — Mostly unusable. PLEASE UPDATE THIS APP!!!!! *2023-02-18, version 1.81* - Go to music, it’s a blank page, you have to then click on a disk - The music on your phone is alphabetical by song name. There’s no way to reorder a list. And all you see is the song name and album, you can’t go to an artist. So you have to pick one song at a time. You can’t play an album, or even a few songs from one without scrolling to each alphabetically and playing them for a moment so they go into the “recent” list, then you could play the recent list. - half the time I can’t get it to play through the light speaker, sound stays on my phone no matter what I try. - There’s no way to “download” and no indication of if that puts songs directly into the lamp… if it did that might solve some of the above… at least I’d be able to put a bunch of good songs in there and be done with it, but I doubt that’s what it is for. Pretty sure they just modified some other existing audio app to get this one. - often if you turn it off then on again at the switch the light defaults back to bright hard white - the color modes are jarring… they don’t fade between colors, they switch, though in one mode at least they fade out before changing. The rhythm setting is like being tortured with light flashes. FIX THIS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is ridiculous. ### 1/5 — Can’t connect to app 95% of the time *2023-01-13, version 1.81* Can only connect to sound cannot connect to app, lightning became redundant. ### 1/5 — Bluetooth is connected, app pretends it's not *2022-11-27, version 1.81* My device connects to my light perfectly. I know it's connected because it plays the connection tone anytime a device connects to it, and I am currently using it's Bluetooth speaker function to play YouTube videos. The problem is that the app pretends as if nothing is connected. I can't use any of the settings because immediately after clicking anything at all within the app, it fills the entire screen with a big popup which says "CONNECTION PROMPT. Please go to the system settings to connect the i-Light. Open the application again and connect the device." There's no way around this, therefore the app is unusable. It had ONE job. I purchased this lamp for my home office, which has a retractable fan. I like the speaker which plays my music from my iPhone library. One thing I wish it would do, is remember the “hue” I prefer for my light… Each time we flick the light on and off it changes “white-to-warm white-5 shades-etc.” I also wish you could change the light colors & hues from the remote control (the remote control controls the fan.) May 2022 – iPhone updated and i-lamp no longer connected to my Bluetooth. After several tries, I finally got my iPhone to “Forget this device” and went to the app to reconnect. She likes it on Medium. Shes only 8, she wasn’t a fan of the colors at first. But when I make Amazon Alexa play music through the speaker she loves it. She even figured out how to add it. When she has guest over I get a kick out of playing with the colors. She has the app on her iPad but I mostly use the app. The fan feels better than all fans on the market.
