### 4/5 — Impressive Film Effects, broken UX

*2026-08-13*

Probably the best photo film emulation I’ve seen in a iOS app, every shot has something ethereal. But, the app is ridden with “ok” alerts, unnecessary confirmations that are blocking the screen, so shooting experience is a bit like video game fight. My suggestion to the app designers would be to try streamline the shooting experience - can I take 6 photos in a row, just by tapping 6 times - no confirmations, no cancels, no dismissable UI. Just shoot and edit later. Overall still a lovely app but with plenty of room to grow

### 4/5 — It’s sad…

*2026-03-07*

You love film, it's great, I love film too! But why don't you like iPad support?

### 2/5 — Selection or full access

*2026-02-26*

I’m being asked if only a selection or full access to my photos. If I choose selection only I can’t access any other photos than the previous once used. That doesn’t make sense. Going back and trying to change that decision isn’t possible - because it doesn’t show. I need to wait 24hrs until all options are available again?

### 4/5 — Great

*2026-01-22*

This is a fantastic app which I find to give realistic looking film photos, the pro version is well worth the £5. My only gripe is how big the photo files are when saving them.. around 60mb. This really adds up when I use this app so much. I would like to see updates on the app with more light leak options

### 2/5 — Barely usable but has potential

*2025-05-13*

This app has a lot of bugs when it comes to simply loading or opening/closing things. It takes 15 seconds or more after tapping the + icon to begin an edit. There’s similar lag when your camera roll loads up, and you have no ability to sort by recently added vs capture date. The album icon doesn’t work at all and just freezes the app on my iPhone 14 Pro Max (using the paid premium $5 version).

Other similar stuff like tapping X to close an image, or tapping the yes/no prompts takes 5-10 seconds for the app to respond. It’s so laggy that my iPhone screen often times out and turns off before the app opens a photo. That’s pretty bad. I don’t have any of these issues in Lightroom, which I’m sure is a much larger and more complex app

In terms of the film filters and editing options, that’s definitely the strongest element of the app but could use some improvements. Sliding the film ISO to another setting doesn’t lock in the ISO, you have to tap a second time to set it or the app discards your change. Unnecessary. I’d like to see an option to rotate the dust and light leak overlays so you can choose what side of your photo the effect displays — that would make them much more usable and flexible

An option to add film frames / borders would be nice and feels like something you’d expect to see in an app like this; kind of silly to go all-in on film vibes here only to export the photo and open it in another app just to add film border

### 4/5 — One feature lacking

*2025-05-05*

As a photographer who used the .5 wide angle lens option on my phone 80% of the time I’m sad this otherwise excellent app will not accommodate my needs. I love the results and the clean effective interface but I do have to go elsewhere to other similar apps to meet my needs. Maybe I’m alone in this but I just thought I’d point it out before you bought it and like me was disappointed.

### 4/5 — Awesome but…

*2025-04-16, version 9.3*

First off, I Love Film is a great app. The quality of the countless film emulations is really convincing, and it can turn any digital-looking photo into something with an analog feel and texture.
But… the navigation feels a bit clunky, with way too many clicks needed for some operations. For instance, saving a photo after editing requires five clicks in different parts of the screen, with unnecessary animations just to choose the next picture to edit. With no option for batch editing, it becomes pretty time-consuming when you have a lot of pictures.
When it comes to adding textures, there’s unfortunately too little to choose from, and no real customization available. For dust and scratches, the patterns all look very similar, and you can’t manipulate them to randomize the look from one photo to the next. You can’t rotate, scale, or mirror any of them.
There are no light leaks, only some tacky bokeh, and no texture overlays like paper or stains either.
That said, the app is really cheap, with a one-off payment and no subscription nonsense, which is rare enough in the photo editing world to be celebrated.
I honestly think this app is just a few features away from being one of the best out there.

### 2/5 — No funciona en iOS 16.7.10 o anterior

*2024-11-08, version 8.6*

Parece una buena aplicación, pero la cámara no funciona bien con un iPhone 7 Plus o un iPhone X. Una pena comprar la versión pro y no poder hacer fotografías. Les ruego una actualización para usuarios de iPhone antiguos.

### 5/5 — Best, at any price!

*2024-08-11, version 8.1*

Best film emulator app that I’ve tried, and it’s DIRT CHEAP!!!
I don’t ordinarily leave reviews, but this app is worth it! Fricken’ LOVE IT!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2025-08-11, version 10.0*

I bought this app hoping for at least some acceptable simple photo grain filters that don’t distort the image. Ugh. Nope. There’s absolutely nothing of any use in this app for me. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Barely usable but has potential

Update, Aug. 2024: this app is dead. Doesn’t open at all.

This app has a lot of bugs when it comes to simply loading or opening/closing things. It takes 15 seconds or more after tapping the + icon to begin an edit. ### 1/5 — Performance schlecht

*2025-02-27*

Lädt die Fotos nicht
Does not work. Photos not loading.

und leider nicht für das iPad…schlechtes Design.

Super slow on midern devices.

### 1/5 — Buggy App

*2024-11-03*

I bought the premium version of the app only to discover that the grain settings are discarded when you save the photo to camera roll, thus losing its vintage feel. I reported this to the developer a few weeks ago and got no response. AVOID THE APP AND LOOK ELSEWHERE.

### 1/5 — Dark

*2024-01-31, version 7.2*

Waste of money

### 1/5 — Please update the app

*2023-07-13*

I bought all the filters, but the application does not work, the iPhone 12 pro and I can not select any photo, it does not respond to anything where it wants to click, it turns off by itself.
Even after update my all problems on IPhone still the same, app just not spond.

### 1/5 — Never answers emails

*2023-07-12, version 7.1*

2nd email and no response. Poor customer service.

### 5/5 — Fabulous app!

*2026-02-09, version 11.0*

There are so many same-old photo apps out there, but this one I love. I use Apple Photos, Lightroom and a couple of others, but this little app does exactly what it’s supposed to do and does it very well.

### 5/5 — I like it

*2025-07-30*

Works fine. I like the results.

### 5/5 — De las mejores apps

*2025-06-05, version 9.8*

Súper fácil de usar y buenos filtros

### 5/5 — One Problem With This App

*2025-05-12*

The only thing wrong with this app is the name of the films, The names of the films / words are far too small to read, could you please make them bigger as I can hardly see the film as the letters are far too small.

### 5/5 — An endless Candy Store!

*2025-04-08, version 9.3*

This app and the other apps that are offered by the same people are a vault of endless possibilities that one might come addicted to never stop learning and editing.
But what could be a great app worth trying out without having a great team behind it to help and motivate your creativity?
This team cares about you and they keep you up to date with their updates.
KUDOS 2 YOU!!!

### 5/5 — Just me

*2024-12-01, version 8.7*

Great tool to edit photos , have fun, take editing your photos to the next level

### 5/5 — Started with a Zenit 35mm

*2024-11-03*

So far it’s a very cool interesting app. The teaching aspects are great and very valuable. It’s easy now with auto everything to forget about the real photography learned over the years. This apps a great reminder for the reason I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures. More than just an app. Nice 👍🏻

### 5/5 — LA MEJOR

*2024-08-26, version 8.3*
