If you need to learn the structures, symbols, and properties of the amino acids, this is a useful app. Since my original review, they have added additional information including codons, and a simple codon search which allows for the translation of a nucleic acid sequence into its corresponding amino acids. I hope the developer continues to improve it with updates, especially useful would be the ability to view all the AAs at once in their various categories without scrolling. This is a definite 5-star reference now, and is a great bargain. Anyone taking genetics, biochem, molecular bio, or in need of quick access to amino acid data and structures should try this app out. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Fehlerhaft *2024-04-30* Fehlerhafte Darstellung. Das 3.3 Update behebt diesen Fehler und fügt darüber hinaus neue Funktionen hinzu. ### 1/5 — Some information is wrong *2024-03-11* I have not checked all the information about the amino acids but I just saw under glutamine the structure of GLUTAMIC ACID. I found this to be highly unreliable and I consider it to be a waste of money. **Developer response:** Unfortunately, this happened despite intensive examination. We apologize. Soweit in Ordnung, aber sobald ich in die Queransicht gehe und durch die Aminosäuren durchscrollen will stürzt die App ab, bei dem Preis (für so eine unkomplizierte App) ein "no go"! Eine Karteikarten Funktion zum lernen der Strukturformeln wäre schön! ### 2/5 — "Chem Touch" offers more for only $0.99 *2010-08-02* ^^^ The layout here is more spacious than chem touch's but this doesn't include nucleic acids and detail on all elements of the periodic table. Had I realized the chem touch already provided the amino acid info, I never would have purchased this $3 app. Safe to say it is no longer on my touch. ### 2/5 — Where's the fun? *2010-02-15* App says it's a fun way to learn amino acids suggesting a game type format or flash card program. I think they need a flash card feature for, at the very least, structure recognition. Nice reference tool, but not great for learning. Die neue Version ist noch besser und übersichtlicher. Einfacher gehts nicht! For $0.99 you can't go wrong.
