### 3/5 — Not sure if this app works anymore

*2022-09-05, version 2.2*

Either that or my phone is hacked

### 2/5 — Refund

*2021-03-22*

I thought that this had capability of snapping a photo of the person tryna Ng to steal or gain access to your device, but it does not. I think this would be an excellent addition to make people want to buy more.

**Developer response:** Hello Rebel, the ability to take a picture is not mentioned anywhere in the description of the App. We decided not to include this feature as it is not possible to reliably implement it due to iOS security.

### 2/5 — Watch out.

*2021-01-20*

Does not do much. No notifications so far. When I entered the app recently, my screen went dark and the app itself was not viewable.

**Developer response:** Hello Secessionist, the app helps you detect if someone tries to unlock and get physical access to your device. For the dark screen, you probably selected the “stealth” option: just tap on the screen and the app will be visible, as explained in the instructions. Thank you.

### 2/5 — Busted!

This is not worth a cent no logs nothing!
I need to know if my phone is hacked need a refund paid $10

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money

*2020-04-11*

Waste of money.
As soon as someone unlocks your phone, what do they see? The app screen telling the intruder that you have an app to monitor break-Ins. So now you have to explain, “what are you hiding that you need this app?” Come on please....

### 1/5 — Very Misleading - Does practically nothing

*2020-04-02, version 2.2*

I’ll be requesting a refund. I should be reimbursed for the wasted time installing, setting my dumb notification and actually trying it out.

Save your money.

### 1/5 — I don’t think it’s really helpful

*2020-03-09, version 2.2*

How I gonna know if someone get into my cell phone ?

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2020-02-25, version 2.2*

Waste of money does not work !

### 1/5 — Your instructions are very poor.

*2019-12-23, version 2.2*

I have no idea what this app is, what it does, or how it does it. You must describe what this app guards against and how it is used For example - What is the code number used for? Must it be entered by you the iPhone owner? By the “spy”? Where? For what purpose? Who uses this code how and why. You tell me nothing about your product and how to use it. If I have to spell it out for you, use the following as a template in the user instructions: “iAmNotified is a _____ app that allows its user to ______. To engage iAmNotified’s protective functions, accomplish the following: 1)__, 2)___, 3)____, etc. The function of iAmNotified is to_______ the user’s iPhone from _____. It does this by ______. When an outside party tries to _____, iAmNotified will automatically ____ and notify the user by ____. The outside party’s spying device will ____ thus protecting the user. A passcode is issued by iAmNotified whenever ______. The passcode is used by the _____ and the ____ enters this number when a challenge screen appears on the _______. Once the passcode is entered, the following will happen ______.” Most app instructions are very poor and leave the buyer with another useless app. So you’re not alone here. But your customers are not mind readers. You have to spell it out - what is this app, what does it do and how do I use it. Go into detail. I cannot use this app currently with the instructions you’ve provided

### 1/5 — False advertising

*2019-12-10*

I bought this because I want to know if the owner of my family plan is having my info forwarded to him. NOT AT ALL WHAT YOUR PORTRAY. I KNOW nobody can pick up phone and access it. Duh. That takes changing password. This is worthless.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t detect Spyware on iPhone

*2019-11-24, version 2.1*

Waste of money don’t purchase this app my iPhone has been hacked and it didn’t detect any spyware.

### 1/5 — Absolutely Worthless

*2019-11-21, version 2.1*

Doesn’t work at all, wish I could get a refund.

### 1/5 — Not what I thought

*2019-11-20, version 2.1*

Trying to see if someone has access to my phone remotely. This app seems to only tell me if someone unlocks my phone physically. Waste of money.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not Clear

*2023-02-12*

Says it costs 2.99 and charges you over 14 dollars. Unclear what it does and must only work to see if someone has your phone in their hand. I want a refund.

**Developer response:** Hi 2RealAsh! I’m sorry for any confusion. iAmNotified only has a single, one-time purchase of $2.99—there are no subscriptions or hidden fees. The 14 USD charge not for iAmNotified. For a refund, you can visit Apple’s support page or request one directly through your App Store purchase history.

Regarding how the app works: iAmNotified places a unique notification on your lock screen each time you lock your phone. If someone unlocks your device while you’re away, that notification changes or disappears, alerting you that someone had access. It’s more than just detecting if someone’s holding your phone; it’s designed to give you peace of mind by showing exactly when your phone’s been unlocked.

I hope this clears up any misunderstandings. We’d love for you to give iAmNotified another try once everything is sorted out. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help!

### 1/5 — Trust me, Don’t Bother. Useless

*2022-03-19*

First, you’ll have no idea who tried to get into your phone ( no pictures) . The app simply disappears. So all this so does is let you know all your data has just been compromised.

**Developer response:** Hi palmhoutx! I’m sorry to hear iAmNotified didn’t meet your expectations. Because of iOS restrictions, our app can’t automatically take photos of whoever unlocks your phone—it’s designed to alert you that your phone was physically accessed at all.

If you notice the notification is missing or different when you return, you know someone has unlocked your device. That information can help you take quick steps, like changing your passwords, enabling extra security, or having a conversation with someone who might’ve accessed your phone.

We understand it’s frustrating not to know who did it, but the core idea is to give you a clear signal that an unlock happened while you were away. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve, we’d love to hear them! We’re always working to make iAmNotified as helpful as possible. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2021-12-21, version 2.2*

Doesn’t have a user friendly interface. I thought it was meant to be a simple system for detecting spyware and other mobile spyware products.

In response to your response, I will take off my review for a refund of the money I spent to find out the hard way. I still don’t understand the interface though. Just let me know when you’ve done as requested as I have had to remove the app immediately as it was not fit for purpose. The quicker you can do that the quicker I can do my part.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work well

*2021-07-29*

It’s ridiculously simple idea, and the app still doesn’t do it right!

You simply leave the app on in the foreground. You have to remember to leave it running in the foreground otherwise it does nothing.

If someone other than you open your phone and dismisses the app, then you know someone else used your phone.

It’s ridiculous.

The history log doesn’t seem to work well either.

I wish I could get my $2.99 back…

**Developer response:** Hi Fresh NY! I’m sorry to hear iAmNotified didn’t meet your expectations. Because of how iOS manages background processes, we can’t run continuously in the background the way some desktop or Android apps can. Instead, iAmNotified is designed to place a “marker” (a notification) on the lock screen—this is why you need to open the app and then lock your device while iAmNotified is active.

If you return to your phone and the notification is gone or changed, that’s your indication someone unlocked it. The History Log should keep track of previous notifications, though it’s important to keep both the app and iOS updated to ensure smooth performance.

We understand it’s not a perfect solution for every situation, but iAmNotified aims to give you a simple way to detect unauthorized unlocks within iOS restrictions. If you have any questions or suggestions on how we can improve, we’d love to hear them. Thank you for trying iAmNotified, and we appreciate your feedback!

### 1/5 — Not getting any notifications

*2021-07-23*

The notifications showed up once and then stopped working completely and They just don’t show up on my phone.

### 1/5 — Deleted this app in less than an hour

*2021-05-11, version 2.2*

Not at all as presented
I deleted this app within an hour of having it!

### 1/5 — Scam Alert!

*2020-11-05, version 2.2*

No way to cancel this subscription? Cannot actually contact customer service? Scam.

### 1/5 — Terribly misleading

*2020-08-23, version 2.2*

Item not as described at all. Tried sending a message to customer service many times but every time says unable to go through. Very misleading and item not as described. Doesnt seem legit at all!

### 1/5 — Scam

*2020-06-08, version 2.2*

Be warrned

### 1/5 — App is totally useless!

*2020-05-15, version 2.2*

I want my money back and you can have it! App description grossly overstates what you actually get from it, which is nothing. Not even useful for vanity. 100% bs and 100% useless 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Does it work ?

*2023-03-31*

Not fully understanding the app , does the user in other end that has hacked my phone see the message ?

**Developer response:** Hi Mj7022! Thank you so much for the 5-star rating. I’m glad you’re enjoying iAmNotified so far!

To answer your question: The notification is shown on your own device’s lock screen, not on the phone of anyone who might have hacked you. iAmNotified is designed to let you know if someone physically unlocked your iPhone (for example, someone who knows your passcode or used your fingerprint while you weren’t looking).

If they do unlock it, the original lock-screen notification will disappear or change the next time you check your phone. That’s how you know someone accessed your device.

I hope this clarifies how it works! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. Thanks again for using iAmNotified and for the awesome review!

### 5/5 — Peace of Mind

*2022-11-23*

This app is exactly what I needed! My phone was hacked into by someone I know, he was able to turn my phone on and off remotely, view everything I was doing, etc. I did a factory reset but was so worried that he still had access. This has given me peace of mind that the factory reset worked and he no longer has access to my device.

**Developer response:** Hi CounselorTroi! Thank you for the 5-star review. I’m really happy to hear that iAmNotified has helped bring you peace of mind after your phone was compromised. By placing a unique marker on your lock screen, the app makes it clear whenever someone physically unlocks your device—so you can feel confident that no one is sneaking in undetected.

I’m glad your factory reset worked and that iAmNotified is reassuring you that your phone is secure. We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope the app continues to protect your privacy! If you ever need help or have questions, feel free to reach out. Thanks again for using iAmNotified!

### 5/5 — Wow

*2021-06-18*

So I’m writing this review not only because the app does exactly what it says… not an oz less, not an oz more but because I think the app and developer have truly been shorted on the rating of this app.. it never ceases to amaze me how many people graduated high school or got a GED but, can’t seem to understand the basic description and function of this app… Really, com’on guys, I understood every function of the app before purchasing by FULLY READING the description; Honestly the only thing I didn’t know for sure and would like to suggest/see if possible was if the app would (or in app option like stealth screen) throw the notification if the app was running in the background and not the last app open on your phone thus adding to stealth mode, overall security and function and use ability of the app (not having to remember to open app before lock) that being said this gets 5 stars because of the reviews that say something to the effect of “the app doesn’t work i want my money back because like every time I try to check the notification on my Lock Screen it totally like disappears and when I lock it again it totally like pop’s up again but like I cant see how it like totally tells me definitively if like someone tried to open my phone 💅🏼💇🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️………..SMFH 🤦‍♂️😬😐🤐…Com’On 🧠⚡️💡Folks….

**Developer response:** Hey Vinvinsim, thanks a lot for the positive feedback and showing to understand my struggle 😅. Much appreciated that you took the time!

To answer to your question, I also agree it would be great to have it running in the background, but unfortunately apple does not allow to do so and for very good security reasons, limiting what developers can do in the background.
Thanks again!
T

### 5/5 — How to identify the person who is invading my privacy?

*2020-08-10, version 2.2*

My issue is I had two alerts at work. My employer does not pay for my phone. And that is an invasion of my privacy. This is my personal device and I cannot deal with people thinking they have the right to invade my privacy.

### 5/5 — great app to solve my problem

*2019-10-05*

Thanks to the developers to solve my problem, so that I know exactly when my partner is spying on my phone. The idea is smart and useful. For anyone who are posting negative reviews please read the instruction carefully, I took a while to set it up too but once it’s done, I feel safe and secured.

### 5/5 — Very good!!!!!!!❤️😊

*2018-06-28*

I just downloaded it, but I don't know how to use it. Will this software really prevent my own mobile phone from being monitored?

**Developer response:** Dear Icchuyvcv, thanks a lot for your positive review! iAmNotified is very simple to use: just open the app and lock your screen. You will immediately receive a notification on the locked screen, that will stay there until the phone is unlocked. So if the notification has disappeared and you didn't unlock you phone, someone else has tampered with it.
You can find more info and instruction on the website: www.iamnotified.com and don't hesitate to write me an email if you have any questions.
Thank you, Best regards.
Tommaso
