## What is IamResponding (IaR)?

Note: "Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."

This App is a companion feature to the IamResponding system, which enables first responders to know who is responding to an incident, where they are responding, and when. This is used by fire departments, EMS agencies, police agencies, and many incident response entities and teams. The IamResponding system also includes text and audio incident notifications from CAD and/or from live pager audio, duty crew scheduling, inter-agency messaging, live chat, incident mapping with directions, mutual aid connections and information, pre-plans, customized information displays, NFIRS and other incident reporting, and much more. This App brings many of the primary features of the IamResponding system to mobile users in the field, in an easy-to-use and access format.

**Please consult the QUICK START GUIDE provided to your department/team to correctly enable all of the app functions and notification features. If you do not do so, some features will not work correctly**

**You MUST be a member of an entity with a current IamResponding subscription in order for this app to work**

We do NOT monitor the Apple App Store for technical support issues, and we cannot reply to support issues posted as user reviews.
**For any technical support needs or inquiries, please submit a Support Ticket (https://support.iamresponding.com/hc/en-us/requests/new).

Please Note: If your dispatch messages are not currently processed through your department’s IamResponding system, that is a free configuration that can be done in almost any jurisdiction, and is included with your department’s IamResponding subscription. Your app will have more complete functionality if we enable that feature for you. Have your local system administrator submit a Support Ticket (https://support.iamresponding.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) to set this up.

### 4/5 — Functional

*2026-08-04*

Being on a fire department, this app has been used alot and works fine. Although I would say - yet has there been a time where the entire app functionality has been utilized. Either because there has been no need or just pure uniformed. Useful when alerting for calls and who is responding to the fire house.

### 3/5 — Update

*2026-06-10, version 2.22.3*

The new update has a glitch that causes the ringtone to automatically go back to default regardless of how many times I change it

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-06-04, version 2.22.3*

Works well. Customer support is fast and helpful. Been using for years. I like it better than active911.

### 1/5 — App sux

*2026-05-20, version 2.22.3*

App sux.

### 4/5 — Cool but..

*2026-05-05, version 2.22.1*

.. need to come out with a Mac version

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-04-10, version 2.22.0*

IaR is a great app, I can’t imagine not having it!

### 4/5 — Decent app

*2026-01-25*

Decent app with my dep however it would be better if they added a feature in which emergency notification for IAR can announce the actual radio audio or read the incident as a notification tone, I really hate having to pull out my phone, press a few buttons and actually get to hearing or reading the incident.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-01-22, version 2.20.0*

Just Fantastic

### 2/5 — Terrible UI, good functionality

*2025-12-21*

Great functionality, but the UI is about as bad as it gets. It’s difficult to navigate and takes way too many taps to get anywhere, especially in an emergency when seconds count. The menu is way too long and items aren’t logically organized. IaR really needs a professional UX designer that takes feedback from users. Not to mention IaR’s support folks are about as arrogant and condescending as they come. If our entire county wasn’t using IaR, I’d ditch it as soon as possible.

### 5/5 — Great App.

*2025-12-17*

With the recent update took away the respond now feature on the responding now screen. Contacted tech support and there was an immediate fix for that problem. Fast support and great service and features! Keep up the good work!!
