### 4/5 — Functional

*2026-08-04*

Being on a fire department, this app has been used alot and works fine. Although I would say - yet has there been a time where the entire app functionality has been utilized. Either because there has been no need or just pure uniformed. Useful when alerting for calls and who is responding to the fire house.

### 3/5 — Update

*2026-06-10, version 2.22.3*

The new update has a glitch that causes the ringtone to automatically go back to default regardless of how many times I change it

### 4/5 — Cool but..

*2026-05-05, version 2.22.1*

.. need to come out with a Mac version

### 4/5 — Decent app

*2026-01-25*

Decent app with my dep however it would be better if they added a feature in which emergency notification for IAR can announce the actual radio audio or read the incident as a notification tone, I really hate having to pull out my phone, press a few buttons and actually get to hearing or reading the incident.

### 2/5 — Terrible UI, good functionality

*2025-12-21*

Great functionality, but the UI is about as bad as it gets. It’s difficult to navigate and takes way too many taps to get anywhere, especially in an emergency when seconds count. The menu is way too long and items aren’t logically organized. IaR really needs a professional UX designer that takes feedback from users. Not to mention IaR’s support folks are about as arrogant and condescending as they come. If our entire county wasn’t using IaR, I’d ditch it as soon as possible.

### 3/5 — Needs to be able to upload.

*2025-10-14, version 2.18.0*

It's a good app. But it really needs to have the ability to upload pictures and documents to a secure cloud of some sort. This does not. It also need to make the area of reporting incidents to be able to have more info like times of first apparatus on scene and more.

### 2/5 — Live audio

*2025-10-04, version 2.18.0*

Live audio stopped working since last update

### 3/5 — Functional…but ..

*2025-06-28, version 2.16.2*

Works well on iOS just not Mac. Please bring out a Mac version.

### 4/5 — Apple/Andriod CarPlay

*2025-03-12, version 2.13.0*

Great app. Love the integrations with all platforms. Would love to see integration into CarPlay with calls and ability to notify if responding to avoid distractive driving.

### 2/5 — Cluttered

*2024-12-07, version 2.12.0*

Interface is super poor compared to Rover. Pretty disappointed our county switched over to IAR. Hard to see the board for members responding and OOS. Very cluttered and messy app. Notifications come in quick however

### 2/5 — So far behind

*2024-12-03, version 2.12.0*

So far behind where it could be. You look at Active 911, the old Rover Mobile and it lacks so much. It’s got some nice features but overall this transition from rover to this is terrible. This app is not emergency user friendly and needs adjusted.

### 3/5 — Recommendations

*2024-08-27*

I like this app but it would be even better if there was a way to make a IaR CarPlay app that would during an alarm turn down the radio and read the cad/card. Let you say your response and then present you a mapping option or cad map. This would improve safety while bringing a great new feature that would be desirable for those with modern vehicle displays that utilize hands free from the respective device. Another would be the ability to listen to radio traffic for the first 30 mins ok the call. So that if a response it canceled or the situation evolves responders a advised.

### 3/5 — UI

*2024-08-02, version 2.9.4*

Not a fan of new UI. It is cumbersome and causes need for more clicks and screen changes. As others have mentioned seconds count and fumbling with an app is counter to the purpose.

### 3/5 — Station62

*2024-06-13, version 2.9.2*

Very informational app most of the time. However the mapping system is awful! Half the time, it takes you to the wrong location. Not good in an emergency.

### 3/5 — Okay App

*2024-05-27*

IAR is an okay app to use. Most of the addresses are correct with the occasional hiccup. The one thing I like is the ability to see how many, who and how long it’s going to take for people to come back to the station when we get a call.

The new update that was completed a week ago is terrible though. The whole user face for the CAD and pre-alerts is different and it just doesn’t work that well. There seems to not be any flow to it like there was before this most recent update. Would love if they changed it back.

Other than that, the app is good for its purpose.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App sux

*2026-05-20, version 2.22.3*

App sux.

### 1/5 — Slow to receive calls

*2025-11-27, version 2.19.3*

App is good when it works. It often times takes me minutes to receive a call after others have received theirs, if I receive on at all. Not adequate when our job, every minute counts, especially when someone’s life lies on the other end of me receiving the call in time.

### 1/5 — Slow

*2025-09-06, version 2.17.1*

New phone, good data plan. Slow app, takes forever to load hydrants

### 1/5 — Updates

*2025-02-05, version 2.12.0*

The new version is slower and harder to navigate than the previous version from 2024. Wish they’d let us switch back to that.

### 1/5 — County fire association

*2024-09-20, version 2.10.0*

We asked for a day that they could send us a trainer so we could use this program to the fullest seems like there uninterested unless your a
New customer not already established customer. We even offered to put them up and pay expenses hope the customer service department wakes up before we chose to find a different provider

### 1/5 — Go back to the older version

*2024-08-28, version 2.10.0*

Latest update is complete garbage

### 1/5 — Not receiving notifications

*2024-07-21, version 2.9.4*

I am not receiving notifications or text message and have tried deleting and redownloading multiple times

### 1/5 — New design is absolutely unusable

*2024-06-17*

Please give us an option to use old list design instead of cards overlay. This is not an app for teenagers, so don't make it look like one. There was nothing wrong with the simple list and details.

We only have a few seconds to consume the information on the call and the new card UX makes it very cumbersome to get to the details and see who is responding. A lot of times map is only a secondary piece of information that is needed to get to the last 10% of the route so it doesn't need to be front and center. No need for a multitude of options on the screen. All we need is two buttons - respond and view other responses. that's it. 🚒

### 1/5 — Broken on iOS 13.6 iPhone XS Max

*2024-05-23, version 2.9.1*

They refuse to help fix the app bug, so now I am stuck using the browser on my phone while driving to a call

### 1/5 — Recent update

*2024-05-18, version 2.9.1*

Your recent makeover is terrible. Please roll back.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-06-04, version 2.22.3*

Works well. Customer support is fast and helpful. Been using for years. I like it better than active911.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-04-10, version 2.22.0*

IaR is a great app, I can’t imagine not having it!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-01-22, version 2.20.0*

Just Fantastic

### 5/5 — Great App.

*2025-12-17*

With the recent update took away the respond now feature on the responding now screen. Contacted tech support and there was an immediate fix for that problem. Fast support and great service and features! Keep up the good work!!

### 5/5 — Firefighters best app friend

*2025-12-17*

Best app to use to see who’s responding, and who’s on duty, I’ve noticed on the new update that the respond now and incident icons are not available in the my agency screen, I’ve had to go to like the menu which is different and difficult to see what the incident is but other wise great app

### 5/5 — Alert tones

*2025-06-13, version 2.16.2*

Love the app. Just wish for some better alert tones!!!

### 5/5 — We love it, great customer support

*2024-03-21*

We have been using IaR for probably close to seven years now. At first we didn’t have it set up with our 911 center but once we did - game changer. We put a large monitor up in our truck room with IaR on it. Our first due coverage area is 40 square miles, very helpful to know exactly where you are going while donning gear. Other features are great: knowing who is coming and where they are (tracking), map markers, ability to import hydrant data, pre-plans, geo-fences, calendar of events, expiration tracker, personnel availability, two tone detect, etc. Very few problems over the years, customer support is always on top of things and quick to resolve issues.

### 5/5 — Add Apple Car Play

*2022-11-10, version 1.44.1*

Great app! It would be awesome if Apple CarPlay was available for this with a responding screen and map allowing users to use their vehicles built in navigation

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2020-06-28, version 1.33.0*

I have used this app for 2 years now in 2 different departments and it’s been a great tool in the toolbox for info and knowing who’s going each station without tying up the radio.

Just a quick question? Any thoughts on an CarPlay App? Would be nice to have a map and details on the dash.

Thanks!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2020-02-27, version 1.30.1*

My fire department uses this and is an outstanding resource to have. Would sure be a lot different without it! Highly recommend it.
