I left my apartment and turned of the air assuming it turned off, I came back and the air was on leaving my apartment ice cold. The physical box didn’t work either. It’s 2025. My fridge talks to my watch. My dog’s collar syncs with my iPhone. But my apartment—the place I pay actual money to live in—still acts like Apple is some underground startup. Still checking on that “high‑priority” Apple integration. It’s been a while, and I’m starting to think the update is stuck behind a dial‑up modem somewhere. I’m still here unlocking my door like it’s a museum exhibit on early mobile technology. At this point, even the imaginary carrier pigeon I mentioned is looking more realistic than an actual release. The app is riddled with bugs and glitches. The customer service is absolutely no help to remediation of services. I login to the app and I can’t get any further than that screen it attempts to load then goes all black and unresponsive. Submitted a trouble ticket and the most they asked was have I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I mean come on can we go a little bit deeper than basic troubleshooting efforts. If I could give them no stars I definitely would. Smh. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Error Code 401 *2025-06-21, version 2.3.1* Rebooted WiFi, disconnected my device from WiFi and still couldn’t make any changes. Always a struggle to open lock. It’s always a battle of getting off WiFi to work and vise versa. Won’t connect to my other modern router for faster connection. Won’t populate when searching for WiFi. First time using a service like this and having a horrible time with every use. When it works, it works just fine but mostly always an issue with connection. ### 1/5 — Pretty awful *2025-05-08, version 2.2.1* You’ll have to close the app three times over for it to register any changes. Maintenance updates are often for whatever reason and will stop you from making any changes too. Another useless product shouldn’t need to be online 24/7. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Concern customer *2026-08-10, version 2.991.0* Like the previous survey that was given same thing happened to me when I get home it feels colder then what my app says so when I get home I see the temp on the thermostat it says different what my app says then when I reboot it and totally says a different temp it actually says it’s a lot lower then what I have set at now it’s been running and now my electric bill is thru the roof and this supposed to be a new smart thermostat this is getting ridiculous I don’t understand I’ve called and many times and emailed no one understands what I am saying basically saying I don’t know what I am doing I hate being called dumb ### 1/5 — New chip installed *2026-07-29, version 2.99.0* Just a couple months ago they came and installed new chips in the doorknob to fix an issue. I had no issue until a week ago now I’m having to put batteries in the knob every 3 days. 4 AA batteries every 3 days gets expensive plus I pay monthly for the service they provide. I don’t know if it’s me or my apartment complex that’s getting fleeced but I hope it’s handled ### 1/5 — A Useless App That’s Forced Upon Me! *2026-06-30, version 2.97.1* This app is worthless it’s forced upon me where I live it’s always glitchy and doesn’t work I hate that this app is something I have to deal with on the daily at home as it’s not user friendly avoid it at all cost and do not rent at any property that uses it to save yourself the headaches! ### 1/5 — It doesn’t sync anymore!!! *2026-06-26, version 2.97.0* Up until a few weeks ago it was good but it just recently started doing the opposite of what I need it to do. So if I need to make sure my door is locked - I have to put it to unlock. I was at a conference for 4 days so I turned my AC off in my apartment - forgetting I have to do the opposite it showed in the app that it was on came home to the inside temp at 85 and the ac off not on like the app suggests. Surely someone can fix it where I can reliably turn my system on and off and adjust the temperature from the app. I have asked and asked And no answers No update, still no results . ### 1/5 — App No Longer Works with Thermostat *2026-06-17, version 2.96.1* It worked great until recently. My AC had to be flushed because it stopped working. Since then the app has a mind of its own. It no longer follows the schedule and I never know what it’s going to do. Often the temp on the thermostat doesn’t match what the app says. The app doesn’t show an update is needed and I’m at a loss. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-06-13, version 2.96.1* Claims your door is unlocked; it’s not. Claims it’s locked; it’s not. Says you have no internet while having full bars on cellular and WiFi. Makes great claims, and meets none of them. ### 1/5 — This is Horrible *2026-06-08* I am totally frustrated, I have asked for help, I have been using the app for about 10 months since I moved in. Mostly no problems except one time. But now, the tech people told me I cannot set a different temp on each of the two thermostats. I have been for 10 months but they did an app update and I guess I am the one who has the problem. I wish I had either someone helpful or a different choice This is now 3 days later, and this Iapartment app is worthless to me, apparently I am not the only one . Update now two weeks later ,,, Still no one has resolved my issue, they at least know it is an app issue, however, the “tech support” as they call it, has no solution other than they don’t know what to do and they are “ working on it”. There should not be any limitation to setting individual temperatures on your two thermostats. When trying to turn off the thermostat from the app it takes minutes and multiple attempts to respond. Then I go into the app and the home screen has a thermostat with one temperature and then you check devices see the thermostat and it has a completely different temperature reading. No wonder my air conditioning just runs and runs. This is an awful design and I hate that my complex switched to these “smart” devices. Why is there two thermostat pages and why are they not in sync? Awful awful awful. ### 1/5 — Update took control away from me *2026-06-07, version 2.96.0* It worked just okay until recently. Wouldn’t update information when opened app and now it does what it wants. Every time I open the app I don’t know what I will find. It changes the temperature on its own and doesn’t operate the temperature on the thermostat to my liking. It operates to what it wants to keep it on and is not in sync with a thermostat. This means I have two different temperatures one on the app one on the wall . I noticed it usually doesn’t also kick on until it’s two temperatures below what the app sets it at which in my opinion is likely how the app is set up to operate.
