The iAutoharp is easy and fun to play; just tap a chord button and strum to hear that chord played as sweetly as if on the actual 37-string instrument. * Switch keys and chords effortlessly. No musical training is required, and the interface is well designed for the small screen. * Use any of six chord buttons, initially set to common chords so you can easily accompany your singing or play along on most popular tunes. * Reconfigure chord buttons to get any of more than 150 possible chords for each key. You don't need to understand music theory, but if want to learn more about it, the autoharp is a great way to experiment. * Try picking out a melody by "pinching" subsets of strings with two fingers. Didn’t give it much of a chance though. I want the thick strings at the top and couldn’t figure a way to do that, so I went to another one ### 4/5 — Chanting the Psalms *2018-02-23* If your needs are simple, as mine are, iAutoharp serves the purpose. I use it for chord accompaniment to chanting the Psalms. In the future, I hope the developer will add a sustaining feature for smoother transitions from one chord to another. ### 2/5 — Fun and nice but limited *2016-07-16* I love playing this but I would love it more if I could use audiobus to record it and I would love it most if I could record the midi output. ### 2/5 — Spoiled by poor sampling *2015-12-31* It's a pity that this programme which has some some good features is spoiled by the poor sampling of the harp sound. What should be bright and clear tones sound as if they're being heard through muffled curtains. This results in a muddy and lacklustre sound. As I say this is a pity since the concept is good and the chord selections impressive. I was disappointed to have paid almost £2 on this. It it certainly isn't worth that and I wouldn't recommend it without a dramatic improvement in tonal quality. ### 4/5 — Great Great but room for improvement *2014-02-11* This Autoharp is as good as a q cord or omnichord with one exception...it just isn't loud enough. This makes it useless as a musical instrument. I don't expect an app to be as responsive as an analog instrument, but the lag is unforgivable - especially since there is another Autoharp app that works great (and costs only .99)! I had to buy the cheaper app after discovering how useless this app was. The lag on this instrument makes this app inlay suitable for an instrument tuner.
