## What is IBDoc®?

IBDoc® is an in vitro diagnostic immunoassay for the quantitative determination of fecal calprotectin in human stool. It is intended as an aid to the assessment of inflammation of the intestinal mucosa for inflammatory bowel disease (e.g. Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) monitoring.

As part of the IBDoc® calprotectin home test, the IBDoc® app allows measuring the calprotectin concentration in a stool sample using a smartphone. The app contains an easy to understand tutorial explaining the test procedure step by step from the collection of the stool sample to sample extraction and loading of the pregnancy test-like test cassette. Once the test cassette is prepared, the IBDoc® app controls the mobile device camera to take a picture of the test cassette. The optical signal of the test is analyzed with the help of a specific barcode on the test cassette. The signal is translated into a result that indicates the calprotectin concentration in the stool sample.

The test information is managed on the smartphone itself and at the same time transmitted via a secure and encrypted connection to the IBDoc® Portal. The test results and connected patient information are stored securely on the IBDoc® Portal and can only be accessed by both the patient and his responsible healthcare practitioner.

The IBDoc® app features include:

-tutorial with schematic drawings and text explaining the test procedure step by step
-A list of all test results performed by the patient
-help menu with a tutorial video and support contact

### 2/5 — Can’t get ir to read properly with iphone 13 mini

*2024-05-25, version 2.1.0*

Just doesn’t read properly, unacceptable. Won’t scan with iPhone 13 mini. I tried and had my partner try too. Neither of us could get a good scan in the timeframe.

### 2/5 — Irritating

*2023-08-30, version 2.1.0*

App forces your camera to use the flash, which blows the image out of focus into a brilliant beacon of white light. You have to keep the camera focused on the test for several seconds which is impossible when it’s looks like Gandalf’s ride across the pelennor fields. Had to cover my flash with my finger in order to submit my test at all - which may have compromised the integrity of the test as it gave everything a lovely red tinge. Camera still couldn’t focus properly since I had to be 1.5 cm from the test for everything to line up properly. The cheery reminder that your scan was late because of the app’s own faulty camera settings was just icing on top of an already infuriating situation.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work at all

*2023-01-09, version 2.0.1*

Why do you have to go through the timer to get to the scanner?? I used my watch to time and now I can’t scan. Then the scanner doesn’t work at all. Tried on black background, white, green, everything. Such a waste for a test that is imperative to my health

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2022-12-21, version 2.0.1*

Does this app actually work?! It’s so frustrating to keep trying so many times and it doesn’t capture the test. As others have pointed out the app won’t scan my test using my phone camera. What’s point if it doesn’t work??
Giving it 2 stars b/c everything else is straightforward until you get to scan your test

### 3/5 — Please update App

*2021-10-25, version 1.5.6*

Please update the App for iPhone 12.

### 1/5 — Good in theory but doesn’t work

*2021-10-11, version 1.5.6*

A nice idea but didn’t work on my iPhone XR. Got so far as the scan to take a photo and it wouldn’t do anything. Tried 20 times , different angles and alignment with the test card and nothing. Frustrating. Not user friendly. Much needs to be simplified and streamlined.

### 4/5 — Responsive costumer service

*2021-09-13, version 1.5.6*

There are issues with the app but customer service is pretty responsive. Good luck with development.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iPhone 12 Pro Max

*2021-04-21, version 1.5.6*

I understand why. Doesn’t matter why, it still doesn’t work.

### 5/5 — This app is a game changer

*2020-04-27*

This app is a complete game changer for me. I’ve had Crohn’s disease for 28years. Having the ability to check disease activity via the IBDoc app in the comfort or your own home is a powerful tool indeed.

The IBDoc app is intuitive and user friendly. I simply followed the in App instructions, set the timer and waited for 12 minutes.

I then have the result!!

Can’t rate it highly enough.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your positive review. We are very happy to hear that IBDoc is helping to stay home and hope that it will continue to do so. We wish you good health in this difficult time!

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2020-04-03, version 1.5.6*

Extremely unhelpful app. It would not scan the test strip, kept saying invalid despite calibrating my camera. Not user friendly. Descriptions with the pictures of the instructions would have been nice
