In an app of this cost, that is completely unacceptable. - Pictures are not handled very well, seem to publish differently than they appear in the editor sometimes. - The editor doesn't do the auto-capitalization that is expected when typing text on the iPhone. This is a huge pain. There are other annoyances, but those are the main ones. I tried iBlogger because my bogging service's custom app (which was also poor) disappeared from the App Store. I wish j could post to my tumblr from it but I can't... That and twitter/FB integration. I assume other platforms are the same. Back to using BlogPress, which lets you post multiple photos in one post, but they must be on your iPod. Sigh! ### 3/5 — New Version Has Bugs I'm afraid *2011-04-05, version 2.0.2* The original version of iBlogger was spot on, v2.02 whilst a supposed improvement the only thing that happens now is: - Regardless of the picture you take and the size of thumbnail you choose all pictures are posted at full size and full resolution (don't actually see what use this functionality is actually offering) - When you login to iBlogger it no longer remembers the previous postings you have made (since the v2 upgrade) and you have to refresh and download all of them which on a slow link can be tiresome - When posting there is no longer a success message that appears and you have to assume it has posted. The changes made to this version seriously needed to be tested before they were sent out. Nice product but too many new niggles. ### 2/5 — Finally update, then won't with my 2nd Gen Touch *2011-04-04, version 2.0.1* They finally update with the features it should have had in 1.0 and now it will not work with 2nd gen iPod Touch, positively abysmal support. Still can't find a way to report bug. Despite developer's claims, this app does not work with SquareSpace -- only posts drafts. Not only that, it only allows you to post 1 picture per post. There are no settings. Being that I'm constantly on the move and not always carrying my laptop, I decided to use this app as I also use ECTO which is their client based app for writing and managing blog post. One MAJOR problem, it doesn't work with iOS 4.0 +. When I went to their website looking for tech support... it NOT excitant! I feel completely ripped off and with no recourse! If you are still running 3.1 + then it works fine, but if you are planning on upgrading or are using iPhone 4 don't waist your money. As a solution, I downloaded the FREE WordPress app (only works with WordPress) and although not as pretty and feature-reach, it does the basics: I can write/edit/post all from my phone. If I need to do extra twitches to my post, I just do them when I get back on my laptop! ### 1/5 — No support??? *2010-08-28, version 0* What's going on? ### 2/5 — No good with Wordpress *2010-07-29, version 0* I hoped as this came from the same publishers as Ecto, my preferred Mac Blog editor, that this would be an improvement on the disappointing Wordpress iPhone app. It isn't, it is completely unusable on my Blog. The two major fails are: 1. It doesn't support Wordpress's tag; if you try and edit an existing post that uses this tag then it only loads the text that precedes the tag. 2. Image handling is awful - it doesn't give you any option on placement, size, resize, thumbnails and the inserting in done in preview mode, not edit mode so you can't control where the images appear in relation to the text. I hope that Version 2 address the issues and iBlogger truly becomes Ecto for the iPhone (and iPad) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Absolute trash *2022-06-03, version 3.0.3* I used this app before and now it uses that crap Wordpress which has been defined as the worlds worst. Do not use this app it is absolute garbage. My text would wrap nicely to the right of the image and all was well. Now my images are huge and can't be re-sized. Useless. So I waited over a year and a half from version 1.09 which wasn't stable and unusable with blogger for this? Ecto (what iBlogger was based on) was abandoned long ago. As were/are their support forums (filled with spam). There is no option to save your work. I may even blog myself now ... ### 5/5 — GREAT app; don't believe the bad reviews *2009-07-30, version 0* The reviews seemed all over the place for this app so it took awhile before I downloaded this app and must say that it is simply amazing. I have 6 blogs on my Squarespace account, each with multiple articles. To set iBlogger up to access my blogs, I just had to enter my username and password then seconds later, all 6 blogs appeared and clicking on any of them showed all my currently published articles. Creating a new post could not be easier. Just start typing a title then edit the article. Not ready to publish? Just don't push the Publish button and the draft is saved on the iPhone. In fact, I have two articles on different blogs in draft form now and will publish when they are ready enough for me. Some people are reluctant to spend $9.99 for an app and seem to think nothing is worth more than $0.99. Well, this one is well worth it.
