## What is iBP Blood Pressure?

What is iBP?

iBP is a blood pressure tracking and analysis tool. Please note, it is not possible to measure your blood pressure by touching the screen. A separate device is required.

What kind of analysis does iBP provide?

iBP uses color icons to indicate when your blood pressure values are normal, high, or hypertension. It also provides interactive graphs that allow you to display your values by weeks, months, year and time of day. The graphs display lows, highs, averages, and trend lines using statistical analysis.

Why iBP vs. other blood pressure apps?

iBP is a universal app designed to work on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, which means you only pay for the app once and you get all versions! iBP is the only blood pressure app with a built in transfer capability to sync all your iOS devices.

What are the key features?

* Reads and writes Apple Health blood pressure, pulse, and weight data (details below)
* Easy data input using dials instead of keyboard
* Transfer capability to sync all of your iOS devices
* Calculates Mean Arterial Pressure and Pulse Pressure
* Track one personal item (blood glucose, stress level, medication dosage, exercise time)
* Backup / Restore capability
* Multiple users
* Multiple email addresses (you and doctor)
* Multiple email formats (PDF, HTML, CSV, Plain Text)
* Passcode to protect your data
* Touch Id for passcode on devices that support it
* Snapshot of the graphs can be saved
* User configurable color ranges
* Weight units (lb or kg)
* Withings Blood Pressure Monitor & Wireless Scale

Apple Health
iBP is now able to read and write Apple Health blood pressure, pulse, and weight data. If your blood pressure monitor (i.e., Omron, iHealth, Withings) adds data to Apple Health then you can easily import that data into this app. If you manually input your data into this app, then it will write that data to Apple Health.

Withings + iBP = No more data entry!
iBP can retrieve your blood pressure and weight data directly from your Withings account. The Blood Pressure Monitor and wireless Body Scale automatically record and send the data to your account. There is no data entry required and you can view the data anywhere using a web browser or a variety of mobile apps.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-06-21, version 10.1*

I have recently purchased a simple blood pressure monitoring device, with no way of exporting the data.
I looked at available Apps and iBP looked ok, and is easy to use. Simple data entry, great charting and easy to output a summary to my doctor, via email. I would highly recommend it. I would like to be able to enter weight in Kg, rather than pounds.

1 year follow up: BP is now very well controlled possibly too much so ( postural hypotension) so the dose of Lercanidipine has been reduced. I send the monthly summary to my GP & Consultant. I am constantly under 140/80, in keeping with current recommendations. Lercanidipine reduced again in June 2026

Summary: good simple app that gives me all of the information that I need & is easy to export to GP/ Cardiologist.

### 5/5 — Long time user!

*2026-02-07, version 10.1*

Used this for years and it’s great. Connects with Apple Health, shows trends and graphs….just easy and nice.

### 5/5 — Excellent since 2009

*2025-12-12, version 10.1*

Thank you for this excellent app! My first BP reading dates back to December 8, 2009. The syncing to and from Apple Health remains flawless and the graphs with trended data are excellent to this day. After 16 years with the app, I hope the developer remains dedicated to whatever updates are needed to keep the app going for years to come! Thank you!

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2025-05-24, version 10.1*

I have been using this app for almost 14 full years now with daily readings including weight. In all that time, I have missed no more than 30 days total! Love it!

I’ve used IBP since 2012, today I’m unable to scroll backwards on the graph. I’m missing the arrows to scroll, I need help

### 1/5 — Stopped working & developer’s website has been deleted.

*2024-11-18, version 10.1*

** DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING THIS APP **

This was a very useful app but now has suddenly stopped working with Apple Health meaning I now have to enter the details twice. It’s also not been updated for five years and the website has gone indicating the developers have abandoned it. Transfers between iOS devices are no longer working now. Don’t waste your time with this one it will stop working altogether soon.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 10.1 — 2019-03-17

* Fixed Withings login issue by implementing the OAuth2 API
* Fixed issue with MAP not being calculated when importing from Apple Health
* Fixed issue with deleting readings in Apple Health
* Fixed several issues on iPad full screen line graph
* Fixed issue with importing weight from Apple Health in kg

### 10.0 — 2018-09-06

* Fixed a couple of issues with Withings download

### 9.0 — 2016-05-16

Updated for iOS 9
Fixed sharing issue on Withings data download
Added ability to read blood pressure, pulse, and weight data from Apple Health
Changed format for CSV Backup to use epoch time since some date formats now have commas which caused problems
Added 2 version formats for importing CSV data with dates that contain commas
Changed app icon

iBP is now able to read and write Apple Health blood pressure, pulse, and weight data. If your blood pressure monitor (i.e., Omron, iHealth, Withings) adds data to Apple Health then you can easily import that data into this app. If you manually input your data into this app, then it will write that data to Apple Health.

Please make a backup of your data using CSV Backup or iTunes File Sharing before downloading the update. You should not lose any data by downloading the update but it is always a good idea to have a backup.

### 8.0 — 2015-04-07

* Updated to support iOS 8, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6+
* Added Apple Health (see notes below)
* Added Touch Id for passcode on devices that support it
* Changed Summary view to allow time period selection

iBP will now save your blood pressure, pulse, and weight to Apple Health. You will need to enable the setting “Add to Apple Health” and then authorize iBP to have write access to Apple Health. Apple Health does not support multiple users so this setting only applies to the primary iBP user. Please note that only NEW data is added to Apple Health. The reason for this is the possible duplication of data from Withings accounts. We hope to add support for reading data from Apple Health for Withings users soon. Readings that are added to Apple Health will now display a “+” on the Log screen under the colored circle. If you use the Wifi Transfer capability to synchronize data on multiple devices any data that is transferred is not added to Apple Health. This means that you should enter new data on your iPhone and then transfer to the iPad. The iPad currently does not support Apple Health. You can manually move data to Apple Health by editing a reading and then pressing the Save button.

Please make a backup of your data using CSV email or iTunes File Sharing before downloading the update. You should not lose any data by downloading the update but it is always a good idea to have a backup.

### 7.2 — 2014-02-27

version 7.2
* Fixed weight preset value on iPad for Add Reading view
* Increased size of popover views on iPad

version 7.1
* Fixed issue where text was truncated when the device setting for Bold Text is on
* Added weight back to the dials for the Add/Edit Reading view along with status color icons
* Fixed problem with Withings download that caused the app to crash when account email or password were incorrect
* Changed global tint color for buttons and other controls to blue instead of red. Apparently, red makes people angry.

version 7.0
* Redesigned for iOS 7 and iPhone 5
* Added PDF email format that includes readings and graphs
* Added download of comments data from Withings
* Added setting to show current user name on top of most views
* Changed to tab bar controller which allows you to reorder the tabs however you want using the Edit button on the More view

Important Notes:
We received some negative feedback about the last update (version 7.0). The theme of iOS 7 is less chrome and more focus on content. We removed some images because they are considered chrome. The flat toolbars, borderless buttons, and new look for the number dials are part of iOS 7 and out of our control. Apple will not accept any app updates that do not use the new iOS 7 SDK.

Please make a backup of your data using CSV email or iTunes File Sharing before downloading the update. You should not lose any data by downloading the update but it is always a good idea to have a backup.
