## Newest reviews (14 of 55)

### 2/5 — Defaults to Autofill

*2022-02-08, version 4.03.137*

I can’t get the app to stop automatically logging in without prompting me for my password. I uncheck Remember Password and Auto Login, yet the app invariably overrides those choices. Seems like a pretty fatal flaw for a program whose whole point is to enhance security.

### 2/5 — UI Needs a Major Overhaul

*2021-04-03, version 4.03.137*

The app works, but the design of it is like something that was done 20 years ago. Not simple to use. I’d love an option to arm and disarm using Face ID rather than going through menus to then punch in my code.

### 2/5 — Slightly disappointed

*2020-08-25, version 4.03.114*

My alarm company recently changed to this system and setup was painful (almost 2 hours). After all is said and done, setting up notifications is difficult (no instructions or assistance), and the zones currently only allow 16 (I have 20+). I’m hoping this will be fixed soon.

### 2/5 — Can’t use app

*2020-08-05, version 4.03.114*

It’s been about 2 weeks, I haven’t been able to use the app to put the alarm on “stay mode” while I’m out shopping and leave my teenagers at home or even to use it for “night mode” since the actual pad makes noise. Can someone tell me why it tells me “unable to connect?”

### 1/5 — Absolutely terrible app

*2019-08-13, version 4.03.021*

The impression one is left with is that this is the result of a single developer with no design experience trying to put something together in an evening. The app is horribly unintuitive, difficult to use, and if you want to do anything but very basic arm/disarm, forget about it. Napco should be embarrassed by this amateurish garbage app.

### 2/5 — Slow and tough to connect

*2019-06-22, version 4.03.021*

I always seem to struggle to connect. It’s also very, very slow to log in.

Landscape orientation is really annoying

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2019-03-08, version 4.03.021*

Portrait mode would be much easier to use. Also would be helpful to have an exit from this app button.

Arming & disarming is very easy; it does sometimes lose the login which is frustrating.

### 2/5 — Ok- needs work

*2018-12-08, version 4.03.021*

Basic GUI. Below average functionality. Meets basic needs but far from good.

### 1/5 — Very Unreliable !

*2018-12-04, version 4.03.021*

Very un reliabke app. Frequently doesn’t work, will not login, and often doesn’t turn alarms off on time. Almost no support/ unresponsive team doesn’t help!

If you work with a security company who uses this app, request a change!

### 2/5 — Gets the job done, but could be improved

*2018-11-04, version 4.03.021*

The iBridge app works for the basics I need: arm/disarm my alarm. However, I often arm or disarm while driving, which is hard to do with a landscape only view. I would like to see a “Use Touch ID” so I can easily disarm using my thumb! (opt-in obviously.) I have also been able to setup basic texts (arm, disarm, trouble), but haven’t been able to setup texts when a zone is left open, yet alone see anything on my zone list.

I have not tried to use as a Z-wave hub to control my thermostat (I built my own :) or video cameras.

Improvements I would like to see in the next version:
* Touch ID to disarm
* Portrait view instead of landscape only
* A better explanation on what’s required and how to to setup/download zone lists (i.e.bridge must be connected via Ethernet)

### 2/5 — Works...but could be better

*2018-10-31, version 4.03.021*

The app works but takes waaaaaay too long to connect. The GUI looks like something that was made 10 years ago and needs an update desperately. Please, I beg you, make the font black, not light gray, as it blends into the background and is very difficult to see. Also, why is it only usable in landscape? That seems unnecessary. Please update this app!

### 2/5 — Ok, but missing functionality

*2018-08-06, version 4.03.021*

I have been using this app for over a year now. It works great to arm and disarm my Napco alarm system. The app displays and works terribly on the iPhone X. The Stay feature still doesn’t work with my alarm panel. To get the alarm in to bypass mode, you have to go into keypad mode and then set the bypass from there. Z wave bridge doesn’t play nicely with other Z Wave Controllers and automation systems

### 1/5 — Can not connect

*2018-07-06, version 4.01.146*

I can connect to my alarm keypad every time online. This app however will NEVER connect. I have tried everything.

### 1/5 — “Not able to connect, please try later.”

*2018-05-07, version 4.01.146*

This is so annoying. Napco, figure this out!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Works, but is on 2002 level tech

*2026-06-04, version 4.03.145*

This app looks like it was designed for the iPhone 3. It isn’t very intuitive and constantly switches from portrait to landscape orientation. It makes it so bad to use, I’m embarrassed to sell Napco products and quit doing so bc customers want a good app.

### 1/5 — Use this app if you hate yourself

*2025-06-07, version 4.03.144*

Never connects quickly. Most of the time won’t ever connect. Forces you to waste your time and disarm or alarm manually like an idiot. I wish I could meet the ceo of this company. Loser!

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-04-30, version 4.03.144*

This app is absolute garbage. I usually make so many attempts to connect that I eventually give up and activate/deactivate my alarm system the old-fashioned way.

### 1/5 — Not easy to use

*2023-10-17, version 4.03.143*

I have another app for a security system at another house called
Alarm.com. IMHO Napco should try to incorporate some of this apps features and ease of use to help improve their app. My equipment will only work with iBridge. I might have gone to other equipment if I knew ahead of time what this app was like. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — State of the Art in 2008

*2023-08-20, version 4.03.142*

This app being described as “state of the art” is laughable to anyone who has used an app in the last 15 years. The user interface is not intuitive, and the need to be in landscape mode is something I haven’t seen in at least a decade.

Beyond an outdated interface, the functionality ranges from lagging to broken.

In the lagging category, the app requires you to create contacts (for receiving messages, etc) in the app itself rather than just prompting you to give the app access to the Contacts app on your phone and selecting contacts from there. Simple iOS and Android APIs have been around for many years. It’s simply staggering that they’re not being used.

In the broken category, when you’re creating a contact (from scratch, unnecessarily per the above) the field for the contact’s cell phone provider defaults to Verizon and cannot be changed… not to AT&T nor T-Mobile nor any other carrier that comprise the 68% of US mobile users that are not on Verizon.

So the app doesn’t work for nearly 3/4 of the US population! But ask yourself this: when was the last time you had to specify your mobile carrier when subscribing to text/SMS notification?

Come on Napco - this is 2023. If your developers can’t even produce an app with functionality from the 2010s it may be time to hire any of the millions of developers who can…

### 1/5 — Worst app ever !

*2023-08-18, version 4.03.142*

APL is trash / will not connect / will not let you sign in. I have used a local alarm company for 20 years perhaps it’s time I go big box and get me something that I can actually control remotely

### 1/5 — Worthless app won’t connect to security system!

*2022-10-03, version 4.03.138*

This app must not ever be updated to work with the latest iOS. I have been unable to connect to my system for a year now. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and it still won’t connect. My security company told me the only way to operate my system remotely is to get an entirely new system. My system is 3 only years old!! Make sure to ask your security installer which app they use and if it’s this one call another security company.

### 1/5 — I’m a alarm technician

*2021-10-07, version 4.03.137*

The review I get from most people is “this app looks like a high school project” and you know what I give it a C+ because it does technically work… sometimes… but the real problem is Napco refuses to accept the future, all there panels are just sad 8bit only systems of yesteryear and when you talk to corporate they steadfastly say “we are aware of Alarm.com and other company’s and we will never be like them!” And they are proud of it. It’s sad really, they will be the next intrlogx and go under because they put there heads in the sand and refuse to listen… PS for those nerds who caught the 8bit reference it’s really what they still use and other company’s are using 8core processors running full 64bit…. Napco stop napping!!!

### 1/5 — Needs redesign

*2020-12-21, version 4.03.124*

The app needs a complete overhaul. It’s that simple. UI and design elements are terrible.

I’ve since learned that when I remotely arm my security system and I select “away” the system actually arms it as “stay.” I don’t know if this is a UI bug or if the system is actually sending the wrong command. Either way, it’s ridiculous that the app has no product support.

### 1/5 — Really Bad

*2019-10-28, version 4.03.021*

I agree with other reviewer. I never leave reviews but this app is so bad it deserves my time to warn everyone else that might be pointed to this app. Don’t bother using it. The design is so difficult to use. There can not be anyone NAPCO that is in the role of User Design or User Experience. If you alarm company pointed you to this app be prepared to be horribly disappointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It Works

*2023-01-07, version 1.03.141*

It’s by far the best app to control your alarm system, lighting, locks and thermostats. Those leaving negative reviews must be from the competition or do not understand the system.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-11-09, version 4.03.137*

This app is a giant improvement over the old Star Link app. You go do anything from it that can be done from the Touch Pad. I couldn't ask for more.

### 5/5 — Alarm app

*2020-08-19, version 4.03.114*

This app is one of the easiest to use from three alarm app that I am using right now Napco app is very simple give you everything you need. The app on your phone looks just like your keypad on the wall nothing new to learn easy to use!!!

### 5/5 — it works

*2018-08-07, version 4.03.021*

It does what it says it does competently. Set your alarm, disarm it, get texts when any zone opens or closes. It even serves as a basic z-wave hub. It could do more - eg sunrise sunset in your local area which almost every other hub has now - but buy a smart things hub if you want that.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2017-12-02, version 4.01.146*

The latest version works great.

### 5/5 — Finally runs smooth

*2017-11-23, version 4.01.146*

Always been slow and non responsive.

Now it finally works

### 5/5 — latest version is great

*2017-05-16, version 4.1.63*

Good job, the latest version works flawless.

### 5/5 — Finally works with iOS 9

*2015-10-04, version 2.5*

Convenient to use.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2015-09-22, version 2.4*

Very good App

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2013-10-11, version 1.5*
