## What is iCantHear?

This app uses speech-to-text and streams the text instantly to a unique URL. This allows you to have communication with a deaf person in a much simpler way than using notes, or other speech-to-text apps that are not specifically designed for this purpose. Text automatically clears after a short pause in speech, resulting in almost natural conversations. Font size can be adjusted to be really large if needed (designed for older users). The app can also translate on-the-fly to communicate with one or several people speaking different languages.

This app REQUIRES a second device and internet access on BOTH. Can be a computer, smartphone, smartTV or tablet.

### 1/5 — Funktioniert nicht

*2020-12-08*

Nach dem ich ein Name für Kanal eingegeben habe reagiert das Programm nicht. Auch bei Eingabe in browser an einem anderen Gerät, tut sich nicht. Schade:(

### 4/5 — Time out issue

*2020-04-15*

App seems to time out after a minute or so and stops transcribing on phone and streaming to its website.

### 1/5 — Funktionert nicht

*2019-11-03*

Auf dem iPad 2 Air funktioniert die App leider nicht. Das gesprochene Wort wurde nicht übertragen, nur das geschriebene.

### 1/5 — NOT BAD

*2018-12-05*

The problem is it crashes a few times until I got going. As on December 4, it’s stops working!!

### 3/5 — It’s a great start!

*2018-03-29*

Needs an update

### 2/5 — Print too small

*2017-09-13*

Great idea, but most people hard of hearing are likely also to be elderly and have poor eyesight. This won't do for us, sadly, because print is much too small.

### 3/5 — Does not work with microphone

*2017-01-26*

Awesome idea, but it doesn't work. Tried on both iPhone 6s and iPad. My experience has been like some of the others. The text and "Sorry..." buttons work, but the app never hears sound. Tried with and without headset as well.

update: For no apparent reason, it works today - and works amazingly well! The inconsistency is troubling, but if it continues to work well, I will revise my rating up!

### 2/5 — Worked Temporarily (One day)

*2017-01-19*

Tuesday worked fine at home. Took it next day to work and speech (microphone issue probably) not transformed/tranlated into text. The typed text goes thru, and the "Sorry....." icon sends the message, to the website. Tried iPhone 6, iPad same problem. Concept wonderful. Would use for patients with hearing impairment. Will try and use periodically hoping the bug gets fixed. Would pay too, assuming functionality. (Ignore uncivilized comments, your work is commendable).

### 4/5 — Great! But one thing:

*2016-11-26*

I am having trouble finding how to make the text larger. Can you fix that? Or am I missing something obvious. Our mom will be thrilled to have a conversation. Thank you!

### 1/5 — I'm speechless

*2016-09-01*

Not impressed
