Card reader is iffy sometimes but can usually get it to work. It’s very stupid that I can’t just send one of my workers to get ice because I’m “too far away.” Many times cellular data messes up even when I’m close so if I say I’m there, it should believe me. If I choose the wrong location, that is on me. Fix that and it’s worth 5+ stars. ### 1/5 — Not too informative *2025-10-04, version 1.23.3* This app is not very informative. I would like to know how to get my free bag of ice. There are no instructions on the app at all and it makes no sense. Do you have to load your $15 deposit before you can get your free bag of ice? Where are the instructions for forgetting your free bag of ice? Is there a place on the machine where you can plug in your free bag of ice code? Terrible business, every time I stop there ends up being a waste of time. ### 1/5 — Can’t register; it is parsing emails incorrectly *2025-08-15, version 1.23.3* RFC2822 says my email is valid, you vibe coded app rejects it. ### 1/5 — Love Twive the Ice, Hate this Scam of an App *2025-07-27, version 1.23.3* I use Twice the Ice all of the time, & one day their card reader on one of their machines wasn’t working, & I didn’t have cash & while trying to find a bag of ice near me that wasn’t over $5, I somehow ended up on their website trying to find another location. ”Download the app & get a free bag of ice”… I thought, “this is how I get a bag of ice without having to pay an arm and a leg” so, I downloaded the app & created the account. But once I created the account, they never send you the “confirmation email” with the “link” that you are supposed to receive in order to receive the free bag of ice. They use the “free bag of ice” to farm downloads for their app, & to have people waste their time create accounts. I thought “okay, well that didn’t work but at least I can still earn a free bag of ice if I load 20 bucks onto my account” *I had noticed they had a rewards section on the app & that was my first reward that I could earn* So I loaded 20 bucks onto my account. I figured why not because I use their machines often. And it meant a free bag of ice today. BUT it turns out, that the 4 Twice the Ice machines in my general location, didn’t even accept the app, stating something along the lines of “This location doesn’t accept the app, but you can still use cash” blah blah blah. My bank told me this place was a scam and is doing a chargeback on the full amount so they tried steal but ended up loosing it all! I have trouble finding locations and there is no way to report damaged machines. I do not need the account functions or pay by credit card functions. Always pay cash or coins. Not going to provide email or other information since it is not needed. Garbage ### 1/5 — Ridiculous minimum purchase for credit card *2024-08-03, version 1.23.3* Went to one of their locations that apparently stopped in time decades ago because was cash only. To buy with credit card I had to download this useless app to find out that the minimum card purchase is $15. I just wanted couple of $2.50 bags of ice. A business that forces consumers to use cash in 2024 is one on the way bankruptcy. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Why did I download this? *2026-06-23, version 1.23.3* App doesn’t show any locations near me, only an hour or more away. Thankfully Google can find things for companies that can’t be bothered with app functionality. Also why no Bluetooth/WiFi or whatever? If a location doesn’t show on the app, you can’t use electronic payments. Thankfully, I always carry some cash for just such an occurrence, but still a royal pain. App worked flawlessly, had 0 problems. People are really mad about having to make an account but if you plan on picking up ice again these are like the only machines in town so it’s not a bad thing to have your card info saved so you can just pull up the app & not have to do that whole process over again. All I did was press a button to dispense & it worked fine. Also in the reviews it said there was a .10 fee for using your card? That was not the case when I bought my ice today. Flat rate $3/16lb bag. No extra fees. Will be using the app again next time I need ice. App not only told me where machines were but also if they had ice. Was able to find a machine but it was not taking cash bunch of people standing around or trying to force cash into the machine. Added money to the app and was able to get the ice I needed. Showed everyone how to download install and get an account. Not bad for a 73 year old 😂 ### 5/5 — What a great thing to have ! *2024-01-14, version 1.23.3* I used this for the first time, in Wichita Kansas, last night and had absolutely no issues with it. I got my free bag of ice, loaded funds to my account for future reference and it provided me locations in town. Once I got there and clicked the I’m here, it connected to the machine and I got my ice within a few seconds of being there. Not sure how this rating is as low as it is- maybe when there are a lot of them in a large town- not sure but I had the best expected experience possible. - I don’t have to go inside and wait in a line for ten mins or so - super affordable! $2 for 16 lbs and $3 for 20!?!!
