### 1/5 — Need internet to use app

*2025-11-08, version 1.2.5*

Nothing like camping with no internet and can’t use the app because you need to “log in”.

### 1/5 — Forced login to connect to fridge

*2025-10-28, version 1.2.5*

Blocks basic Bluetooth control behind an email + verification-code login. For a camping/overlanding fridge, that’s a deal-breaker: if I’m off-grid and can’t receive the code, I can’t open the app to adjust temperature or modes. In my case the code took ~30 seconds to arrive and the app’s countdown expires at 120 seconds, so it’s easy to time out in weak coverage. When I am logged in, controls work well, but there needs to be a “Continue without account” option so local Bluetooth works anywhere, with login reserved for cloud features. Rated 1 stars due solely to the forced login.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-10-24, version 1.2.5*

Every month or so it fails to function and needs a new code sent to reconnect.
No good when one is really “out there”and no internet. And no I’m not getting star link

### 1/5 — Use a password, why an email code?

*2025-07-28, version 1.2.4*

How stupid can you get? The only way to get into the app after it constantly logs you out is to wait for an email code when you are in the mountains with spotty data connection. That’s beyond braindead. How about use a password or face recognition? So so basic. ICECO please think a bit.

### 1/5 — App crash error code E1

*2025-07-24, version 1.2.4*

Latest app version on latest iOS version. Used to work before the update.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect

*2025-07-12, version 1.2.4*

Vl90proD says its support led but neither of the 3 apps by ice o including this one will connect! It just says no devices found but the fridge is on and has been holding temperature and operating normally.

### 1/5 — V1.2.2 zone display picture wrong

*2025-06-15, version 1.2.2*

The app shows both the left and right zones as being L shaped on our APL55

### 1/5 — just can’t

*2025-05-02, version 1.2.1*

Can’t complain about app features if you can’t log in, because the app just has network issues and won’t issue a code.

### 1/5 — Have yet to connect

*2025-04-12, version 1.2.0*

I got the ice co fridge freezer dual zone and still to this day have not been able to connect to my app. Anytime I try it says no devices available..you’d think spending over $1000 on a dual zone it wouldn’t have any issues connecting

### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Work

*2025-03-26*

This app just doesn’t work me. I can’t get the Bluetooth to connect to my phone. The product manual page opens to a blank screen. Why even bother if you can’t write code that works?

### 1/5 — App constantly crashes even after updating.

*2024-11-20, version 1.1.6*

I really like the ability to control this with my phone however, the app is almost unusable as nearly every action crashes the app. This happens even after the latest update. I hope this gets fixed soon.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-08-17, version 1.3.4*

You can’t even set up an account. It keeps erroring out. It tells you the password criteria for about 2 seconds then disappears. Hoping the fridge is better than their software writers. Guest mode is the way to use this app.

### 1/5 — STOP LOGGING US OUT

*2026-07-31, version 1.3.4*

STOP LOGGING US OUT it’s a fridge. What if I don’t have internet to get a code. Dumb design.

### 1/5 — Mind of its own

*2026-05-26, version 1.3.4*

As mentioned by others, set the temp on the fridge. Fahrenheit. Change it on the app, switched to Celsius and sets wrong temp. Example, I set to 34°F, fridge adjusts to 1 °F. App is not usable

Update 5-26-26. Developer says to upgrade to latest version and this is resolved. Not true. I am on latest version of 1.3.4

### 1/5 — Mind of its own

*2026-05-13*

As mentioned by others, set the temp on the fridge. Fahrenheit. Change it on the app, switched to Celsius and sets wrong temp. Example, I set to 34°F, fridge adjusts to 1 °F. App is not usable

### 1/5 — Keeps throwing an error code when you try to see what your cooler is doing

*2026-04-30, version 1.3.2*

Keeps throwing an E1 code no matter what I do when I try to add or check on the status of a cooler. App looks like it would be nice, but doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Celsius Fahrenheit confusion

*2026-04-29, version 1.3.2*

The fridge and the app can't decide how to apply the conversion math. Manually setting the fridge to 37F shows the set temp as 99F in app, which would right if I set 37C for 99F. Changing on app to 37F sets the fridge to 3F.
Switching to Celsius, shows -16C. Setting fridge to 3C gets me to where I want to be. Changing back to Fahrenheit once set at 3C changes app set temp to 99F again, manual set temp to 37.
Having to figure this out was kind of a nosebleed? I guess having the app is a temp sensor in my pocket for this thing? Not even sure I trust what the app says now...

### 1/5 — Can’t even create an account

*2026-04-08, version 1.3.1*

First the email arrived after the end of the verification period, then I tried to use a strong Apple password - which it wouldn’t accept- then I tried to modify it to work but each time you fail it sends you back to the start. Then a bunch of Chinese characters started showing up when I tried to acknowledge things and now it’s not sending emails anymore.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2026-02-04, version 1.2.8*

You need to create an account on some cloud server in order to control your Bluetooth fridge. Two big problems with that A) I only get “internal server error” when I try to create an account and B) even if that error eventually gets fixed, it will be impossible to use this app when camping since it requires internet

This app needs to be rebuilt from the ground up to be useful to the typical customer.

### 1/5 — logs you out after...

*2026-01-22, version 1.2.6*

Horrible app! logs you out after 3-4 days. if you are in area with NO internet, then your screwed and your iceco fridge is useless!
This app should NoT require internet to use!

### 1/5 — CarPlay App

*2025-11-15, version 1.2.5*

App was great until recent update and CarPlay is nearly unusable. Misplaced icons stacked on top of other icons.

Also app prompts you to login almost weekly (or you can’t use it) and you have to get an OTP code via email in order to login.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app

*2026-05-29, version 1.3.4*

Not sure why this app has one star at the time of writing, it’s a good app, well coded and simple. Not overly complicated and does what it needs to.

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2025-07-16*

Couldn’t be happier with the performance of the APL35 and the ICECO app.

### 4/5 — CarPlay app

*2026-02-10, version 1.2.8*

The app on CarPlay could be designed so much better. It’s buggy and is not really well designed. It’s great ifs working right but have the time is very confusing.

### 3/5 — Could do more

*2026-07-27, version 1.3.4*

Very basic functionality which is ok but there is no alerts functions or even time running and and an eta to target temp. Alao seems to be struggling to freeze a three silicon 12 lb ice blocks. 24 hrs in still slushy in a house at 72 degrees.

### 3/5 — Great fridge. App should not need a login

*2025-12-26, version 1.2.5*

The app seemingly needs an email verification code to be sent but if you use Guest mode it does not. Is there is a benefit to using the app with an email since it only needs a Bluetooth connection to the fridge.

The APL series of refrigerators are great!

### 3/5 — CarPlay Needs Help

*2025-09-09, version 1.2.4*

Great app, love the ability to view and control the cooler from the phone.

The CarPlay portion needs work. The icons are scattered on the screen. I can only see the actual temp on one side. Hope there is an update coming soon to correct.

### 2/5 — Works Great, But Major Flaw

*2025-10-03, version 1.2.4*

Couldn’t be happier with the performance of the APL35 fridge.

However, the app needs to have notifications. My fridge recently got accidentally disconnected and I got no warning and lost all of the perishable food in it.

There should be an option to be notified if the fridge ever goes off.

I realize it could only work when you are near the fridge and have a Bluetooth connection, but I consider it a must have.

That accidental disconnect cost me a decent amount of money in lost food.

### 2/5 — Left/right vs Front/back

*2024-08-31, version 1.1.2*

The display panel on the JP40 dual fridge/freezer I bought refers to the front and back sections of the unit when setting the temps, however, the app confusedly designates the sections as left and right. I initially had frozen food in what I thought was the fridge section and liquid ice cream in what I thought was the freezer section.

### 2/5 — QUIT logging me out!

*2024-08-14, version 1.1.2*

Quit automatically logging me out every few days and requiring me to submit a verification code to log back in! SUPER ANNOYING!
