However, over the last couple of weeks I’m unable to access files indirectly, ie when in Twitter or Flickr and the Icedrive app doesn’t allow me to see icons of images or allow them to be accessed, downloaded etc. atm I’d recommend avoiding until these bugs have been cleared. (iPad running latest version of iOS) ### 4/5 — Great service with greater potential *2024-01-19* This is a great service! Fast, secure and very well designed. Like VPN’s or ad/tracker blockers. Always get an error RX-01! Then need to shut down and restart app. A huge pain if you’re trying to download multiple images. ### 1/5 — Extremely Slow Uploads IPhone And Desktop Apps Useless *2022-07-18* The title says it all. The iPhone app and desktop apps don’t work, I tried to upload 10gb of data into 1tb of storage capacity and the system wasn’t capable of doing it. The auto upload of photos and videos in the IOS app doesn’t work. Can load one file at a time and it takes over 4min to upload a 4mb file. Not worth the money, the company behind this have obviously spent all there money of advertising and nothing on the systems. ### 1/5 — This app is substandard *2022-06-16* The iOS Icedrive App is more than disappointing 1. I cannot upload files created on my iPAd using iOS apps like Procreate or GarageBand. The upload window opens but then it stalls…It doesn’t open my directory or allow me to select a destination folder…it just shows a progress bar but nothing actually happens. 2. It does not sync with the server so even when I email files to myself and upload them on my PC the files are still not available to me on my iPad 3. And clicking on FAQ or Support in the “HELP” brings up nothing but a black screen so Help is nonexistent! Then when I contact Support they seem totally uninterested. It takes forever to upload mobile photos from iPhone. The UX of the app is also poor with odd icon decisions and lack of proper messaging for status of things like file uploads. ### 1/5 — Losing The Will To Live *2024-03-18* Had this app for a year now, paid for the lifetime plan, what they mean by lifetime is that's how long it will take you to upload or download your data, a complete waste of my time & money, crashes every time Ive used it even for a small upload or download, now with PCloud, in a different league altogether, had no choice but to give it one star & that's generous. ### 1/5 — Not good enough *2024-02-22* It’s not really good enough as an app. The photo backup is pointless as it’s so unreliable, can’t tell when it decided to no longer back up your photos and videos. And I would argue that is probably one of the main purpose for a cloud storage app on a phone. I have to rely on a free alternative, which actually functions as an app. I paid for this service and development is so slow. App updates are promised on the forums but never delivered. It’s been over a year since an update. What are you doing if your not updating your apps?! You can’t justify it, there is no excuse. Just do what you are paid by your customers to do. The service is fine for speeds etc, but I’m losing patience with the service as a whole. I no longer recommend it to people. ### 1/5 — Don’t do it *2023-12-09* Icedrive came recommended as a service similar to pcloud so I figured I’d give them a chance. Thankfully I started with a small storage tier (paid for life), figured if I like it I’ll upgrade later. But unfortunately the icedrive app is riddled with bugs that make the app unusable and they don’t seem to be in a hurry to fix anything, last I checked the app hadn’t been updated in over 11 months. Doesn’t seem like they’re even putting an effort into it. At this point I’ve accepted that I’ve wasted my money on this service that I’ll probably never be able to use. ### 1/5 — Needs improvement *2023-09-11* App doesn’t get updated. It’s been a year and a majority of my uploads just hang and fail. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — A Suggestion for the Developer *2023-08-31* I had IceDrive’s lifetime subscription for over three years now. I think if the developer invests a portion of the money they get from lifetime subscription into JP Morgan’s professionally managed JEPI and JEPQ, they together can yield about 10% per year if the times is good. And also invest a portion into treasury bonds from the US government that are yielding 4-5% per year up to 30 years, those should pay for the subscription itself if not more. Not sure why some users complaining, but I’m really enjoy to use this app. I have Linux, Mac, Windows, iOS and all devises sync with no issues. I like minimalistic desig and functionality. Zero-Knowledge Encryption is what separates this company from the well known cloud services like DropBox, OneDrive, etc...all of those companies are known for some known negative privacy issues and having trackers on their apps. So, thank you, IceDrive!! I’d REALLY like a multi account option, as I’d like to use a personal account separate from my business account since I use this for work related docs. I’d hate to have to get a second phone just to upload my personal photo album or have to constantly sign in and out. A MacOS app is desperately needed but I see it’s coming, looking forward to that! Also, and this would just be a plus, but I dark mode icon, I like the logo but my phone is already heavily populated by white apps, my eyes would appreciate it!
