### 1/5 — Bluetooth range is horrible!!

*2021-05-29, version 2.0*

Holding my phone 1 foot from the unit I get the annoying error message that the signal is weak.

### 1/5 — Absolute Rubbish!

*2020-08-29, version 2.0*

Absolute rubbish product and even worse App! Do not waste your money!!

### 1/5 — App has stopped working

*2020-07-12, version 2.0*

Can’t connect to the device anymore. Used to work fine. Needs to be updated.

### 1/5 — Rubbish Product

*2020-02-01, version 2.0*

Do not buy this product. You would be better burning your cash in the BBQ. Absolutely horrible App. No range (right now, it’s zonking at on a distance of about 20ft). Zero intuition in the design and layout.

Just a very, very poor overall product.

Note to Apple team, apps like this deserve the ability to give half star ratings.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2019-11-28, version 1.1*

I will be standing next to the device and get an out of range warning. Very poor overall. Now when I open the app it says no device found. Not worth it. Much better products out there. Do not buy this device.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2019-10-13, version 1.1*

As others have stated the app and or the device do not stay connected over the advertised distance. The controller can be sitting next to the phone and you can see the signal strength drop until it no longer registers and the temp graph is gone, very frustrating over long cooks.

### 1/5 — Poor range

*2019-07-14, version 1.1*

App is archaic and clunky at best. I’m standing next door on it right now but it’s saying there’s no signal.

Needs some serious attention!!

### 1/5 — Poor range

*2019-04-27, version 1.1*

Very poor range, keeps dropping in and out and this keeps resetting the timer, very frustrating.
Would not recommend

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Either the app or Bluetooth does not work

*2025-12-29, version 2.0*

The thermometer works by itself. This app cannot connect to the device. I am very tech-savvy and it appears that either the device’s Bluetooth is defective or the app is defective.

### 1/5 — Why same price as competitors, but so much worse

*2025-12-26, version 2.0*

Great product and potential, but app hi looks like it was made for the first phone as well as the interface being lacking

### 1/5 — ichef Bt 600

*2024-12-25, version 2.0*

Just poor all around. Tossed mine in trash. Not worth effort or price I paid. JRV

### 1/5 — Needs update

*2022-07-03, version 2.0*

Although range not good it worked fine for a year but not now. Phone recognises the device but doesn’t open up the program when it is selected anymore. Can only use as manual thermometer now. Back and forward to BBQ

### 1/5 — Mode section

*2022-04-08, version 2.0*

Interface doesn’t match the manual, I can’t locate the Mode Section???

### 1/5 — Great device, really bad app.

*2022-03-14, version 2.0*

Constants pop up error messages telling you that you out of Bluetooth range and reminding you that all the probes are not attached. Super obnoxious.

Not intuitive on how to adjust temps it has a steep learning curve.

No way to silence alarm with out adjusting temp in app, then it wants to restart your graph and timer.

Randomly loses connection then you have to go back in and refund the device and you lose your graph history and timer.

The concept for what the app can do is amazing but the execution comes across as a beta that never should have been deployed.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2022-03-13, version 2.0*

This thing is so out dated and is a waste of money. Bluetooth is horrible, not all the features on this app even work. Very cheap idk how else to say it.

### 1/5 — Smokin’ Joe

*2022-01-07, version 2.0*

Bluetooth is irrelevant as poor range means you have to sit next to bbq/smoker for app to remain connected. My 8 hour slow cook meant having to abandon this device and go back to manual checking with stand alone thermometer by regular trips from inside as I had done previously.

### 1/5 — PIA

*2021-11-25, version 2.0*

Every time I open my phone with this going I get the errors probe 3 and 4 not attached, of course I DONT HAVE PRODE 3 and 4. Gotta get through those errors. Then I get low BT signal while inside my house, oh yeah that over road the missing probes 3 and 4 so now that’s back up. It should have a setting in me which proves I have and use. I WILL NEVER BY PROBES 3 and. 4 and will probably be looking for another unit.

### 1/5 — Horrendous app

*2021-11-19, version 2.0*

Still using very very old iPhone interface, in desperate need of an update.

Terrible functionality within the app with very little options, pretty poor range with the device too.

If I had known how bad this app would be I wouldn’t have bought the thermometer and definitely won’t be recommending it, purely based on the app.

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2022-05-22, version 2.0*

Does exactly what it’s suppose to do - cooked a perfect lamp roast using this app with associated hardware.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2020-06-21, version 2.0*

So far I like the thermometer and the app. Two of my complaints where improvements could earn more stars: 1. The annoying pop up message that says Bluetooth signal is weak and you may be disconnected. That pops up way too much. Just give us a message when we do in fact disconnect. Or let us disable that message altogether. Also, the Bluetooth range isn’t good. Says up to 300’. Maybe in a straight line with zero obstacles could you get that kind of range. So improve those and I would give it 5 stars.

### 3/5 — Has potential to be great.

*2018-12-19, version 1.1*

Overall not bad, I am yet to compare with other temp probes to see how accurate they are. Some Bluetooth issues even though it boasts a huge range. I’m sitting 4m away from it and it says low signal. I also wish there was an interface where I can see all temps at once.

### 2/5 — Needs update

*2019-11-10*

In apple’s latest iOS ,when phone screen turns off Bluetooth drops out and needs to be reconnected, looses timer and graphs

### 2/5 — Needs an update

*2019-03-24, version 1.1*

Bought this new digital thermometer to replace my last one which was the older model. As stated in two reviews there is range issues. I’m sitting next to it right now and it’s stating there’s a low signal. Hopefully they can rectify this or may have to return.

### 2/5 — Range issue’s

*2018-12-25, version 1.1*

Great thermometer, it’s accurate come’s with the grill clips ect but the range stated is false and I may have to return on that basis. Maybe 30 foot range which is one tenth of what they claim.
