### 2/5 — Stick to the Basics

*2026-09-01, version 9.9.19*

It’s fine but over priced for what it is and what features it includes (even with the $100 unlocked version).

The good: Functions very well, organization is relatively good but could be better, all the info that’s pulled up via the barcode as expected, no ads, offers a lifetime option instead of subscription

The bad: AI “functionality”, I was subscribed to a newsletter after purchase, not super user friendly (it appears continuous scanning is not a function - which is crazy for an app like this one), there’s a whole other version for desktop that you apparently also need to buy.

I regret my $100 purchase. Just use sheets or excel.

### 3/5 — Missing some items

*2026-08-31, version 9.9.19*

I’m going through my collection right now and I noticed not all my DVDs are added in iCollect however I’ve scanned them all

### 4/5 — Why remove it

*2026-08-25, version 9.9.19*

Love this app but as of recent they removed a very important feature where next to the item name is the number of count of that items example number of xbox games next to the Xbox category

### 2/5 — $100 one time fee. And they don't tell you that until later.

*2026-08-24, version 9.9.19*

I was really excited about this app!! There's a search feature found in your collections, so that you don't have to scroll through all of your entries, and it has a super simple layout!
But. I was 30 entries in, grinding out an hour of entering all of my DVD's, and then a pop-up hits me. Before i can continue adding anything else to the collection, it tells me that i have to pay a one time fee of $99 :( kinda nice that it's not annual, but dang bruh i was already 30 entries in. It's a no for me, a paycheck-to-paycheck 20 year old who just wanted to log her prized DVD collection.

### 2/5 — Buggy book catalog

*2026-08-20, version 9.9.19*

I’ve used this app for years to catalog a few collections and for the most part it’s great. Recently the books are saving the wrong images (sometimes other fields) when I switch between items and it is increasingly frustrating to correct. Sometimes I have to completely delete the book just to reset it in my collection. Please fix this issue

### 2/5 — Nice idea, poor execution

*2026-08-16, version 9.9.19*

Attractive user interface and simple data entry by scanning ISBN or other barcode. Now expensive at £80 annual sub. Let down by bugs and missing features. Worst annoyances: app mixing up data of the last item edited with the current one, spoiling both; no simple way to move items between collections (e.g. books and maps), no way to save an item without a cover image. After using this for 6 months I'm moving on elsewhere.

### 3/5 — Random loss of data

*2026-08-15, version 9.9.19*

I was super excited when I got this app at first. But for the price I paid I’d expect it to actually save the data I input. With additional fields, part of my data got totally lost. The developers responded a few months ago and fixed a glitch and I recovered the data temporarily. Now it’s gone again.. rather annoying

### 2/5 — Eh

*2026-08-14, version 9.9.19*

Really easy to put things in the collection but the paywall

### 2/5 — Expensive

*2026-08-10, version 9.9.19*

You get fifteen ai scans and that’s fine but after fifteen of anything so after fifteen in collection at all both ai and not at combined then you have pay 50 to 100 bucks based on how long you want to keep being able to grow you’re collection and that’s way to much

### 3/5 — Best Book App

*2026-07-23, version 9.9.19*

Update: I’ve sent two emails in three weeks for support and received no response so maybe an updated review will get their attention? The app has turned buggy. It doesn’t save images correctly and it won’t save item location. I found out after updating 750 books that 70% have saved correctly while 30% pretended to save information. That meant I had to go back through all 750 to double check which books were missing information. It’s incredibly frustrating. I have over 4000 books. I do not want to spend more time and money on another app. I need this one to work and I need communication from the creators. Normally they’ve been great in the past.

I downloaded every major book app I could find and then went through each one to find the one I felt would meet my needs. This app was the best one.

It has the most customizations. I personally need to see front and center: the cover artwork, author, title, series, format, and if something is a special edition. This app allows me to see all those things in an organized and simple list.

It’s super easy to add books in bulk. The app does a great job finding even the most obscure book.

Right now I’ve catalogued over 1800 books and the app still quickly loads.

I love that it even tracks my wishlist items.

A few things I would change (some of these are bugs):
Add a decimal for series numbers to easily catalog novellas in a series.
Let’s say I buy a book that was on my wishlist and I scan it in, it says I own a duplicate. It would be nice is the wishlist wasn’t connected in this way because it makes me think I own two of the same book but I don’t.
There’s a bug where sometimes I will click a book and when I change to a different book, the first book’s image is now associated with the second book.
When manually adding a book to the wishlist, it asks if I have an ISBN twice if I say no, I don’t have one.

### 2/5 — Stop ruining everything with AI

*2026-07-18, version 9.9.19*

I started using this app back in 2023 or so, it’s been very useful for keeping track of my manga collection and various other book collections of mine. But recently, it’s been frustrating even adding new books to the app. Even when I use the “scan barcode” option to manually enter it, the titles and images are still not completely accurate. I’m assuming this is due to further addition of AI features. This app did not need AI to begin with. I’m highly considering switching my collection tracking to another app. Screw genAI.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Overpriced

*2026-09-06, version 9.9.19*

Want to use the app to its full extent? Get ready to drop over 200 dollars. Not worth it given you need to shell out around 100 dollars initially then apparently 149 a year.

### 1/5 — Handy but extortionately expensive

*2026-09-03, version 9.9.19*

It’s all in the title. You can track 30 items for “free” just enough to be annoying. The cost is “reduced” to $100 for unlimited collections or $50 for one collection for life. That seems like it’d be it right? Already too much for a fancy excel sheet, but hey- gotta wring a dime out of every single pore of a person, am I right? Because once you decide to buy a “lifetime unlimited” subscription to this stupid app, you’ll be prompted to sign up for the $180 pro plan…

Get out of my pocket, vultures!

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-09-03, version 9.9.19*

Limited to 30 titles unless you pay $100 or $50/yr to unlock the full edition. That's robbery. Get real.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-08-29, version 9.9.19*

Apparently 15 video games is a massive collection. To unlock further collecting its costs $99nzd just to add more games. For collectors who are collecting more than one item it costs $199 which is ludicrous. The app had so much promise but sadly everything must cost.

### 1/5 — Insane

*2026-08-26, version 9.9.19*

I sincerely want to know what the devs are on. You get about ~15 things to track per category, and then you cannot contribute unless you buy the unlimited option. Okay, then. Crazy as it is, but what could the unlimited option cost? $10, maybe? $5 a month?

No. 100 dollars. I wish I had the audacity.

### 1/5 — Super Overpriced

*2026-08-18, version 9.9.19*

I originally really liked the layout of the app and the functionality of it but, as someone who collects comics, having a 30 item limit is extremely limiting. So against my better judgement I spent the 100 dollars for premium and for a bit I did find everything was worth it until I tried to switch to my laptop to properly edit some of the comics I put on the list. Not only do they want you to spent 100 dollars for a lifetime but they want even more money to use it on your laptop. I find it ridiculous that I have to spend even more after spending such a large sum. For 100 dollars I better be able to use every feature imaginable.

### 1/5 — Deceiving

*2026-08-13, version 9.9.19*

Once you hit a certain amount of items organized they require you to pay an expensive subscription to continue to add more. They don’t tell you until you’ve hit the limit. Waste of time and money, bad business practice.

### 1/5 — dishonest!! stay away!!

*2026-08-10, version 9.9.19*

charged me $149.00 when i didn’t press anything to purchase , taking money out of my account then ignoring me is criminal and apple won’t refund either even though you can see i hadn’t used it, and i can’t access pro features anyway!!! then they havnt returned my emails for 3 months now !

### 1/5 — Grossly inflated estimated values

*2026-08-09, version 9.9.19*

Very disappointed in the product. It has $20 action figures being worth $800 and it only takes a quick Google search or login to Ebay to see the Values are wrong

### 1/5 — Constant notifications asking to subscribe

*2026-07-27, version 9.9.19*

Insanely annoying. Every day or so I get a notification telling me to sub for a hundred bucks before the price doubles in the coming future. Its been months of receiving the same notification and the price hasnt changed. Clearly a scummy tactic to get money from people with FOMO.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-09-03, version 9.9.19*

Love all collections in one place

### 5/5 — Useful tool to manage my movie collection

*2026-08-25, version 9.9.19*

I buy movies for my 86 year old father because he doesn’t have the internet. He doesn’t understand streaming or anything more complicated than using his tv remote control. I now have a collection of 786 DVDs/Blue-rays. I was using a spiral notebook to record each purchase in alphabetical order. About six times I bought duplicates and it was becoming frustrating just trying to manage Dads collection. This program helped me scan the movies in lighting fast time. I tried using spreadsheets but this program is amazing !

### 5/5 — Total BS

*2026-08-19, version 9.9.19*

App fails to tell you that you have to pay and I just spent an hour adding things to my lists. Bs that they would charge to make a list. Great concept but I’m not paying to make a list.

### 5/5 — I like it

*2026-08-17, version 9.9.19*

Easy to use

### 5/5 — Best Inventory System so I won’t buy duplicates

*2026-08-10, version 9.9.19*

I have found the best inventory system. You see I love books and stuff, a lot of books. I have donated 2 pickup truck loads to libraries plus the many books I have given friends. Now I have a system that not only lists the books but I can keep up with who borrowed my book. Next the needles.

### 5/5 — Puzzles under control!

*2026-08-04, version 9.9.19*

I’ve turned into a jigsaw puzzle collector and needed something to help me keep up with what I have (after too many duplicate purchases!). I tried a (strictly) puzzle tracking app but it wasn’t detailed enough. iCollect is exactly what I needed and the amount of detail for each item is excellent! I love that I can use it for many different items. Next up, my books…

### 5/5 — Great for shell collecrtions.

*2026-07-28, version 9.9.19*

My collection is growing and the “Icollect everything” app has helped me know what i have and vastly improves the way i can study the collection in that it makes it possible to search the family im interested in or species. It will pull up anything independently. Really helping me to the classification of the shells and in the end has increased enjoyment i get from this study. So, shell collectors out there gice it a try-i think you will like it.

### 5/5 — Needs more features

*2026-07-26, version 9.9.19*

There’s a lot to like here but I could use a few fresh features like bulk uploading of non-sequential issues or items

### 5/5 — Long time & ‘Lots’ user

*2026-07-22, version 9.9.19*

Been using iCollect for a really long time and have 1000’s of items catalogued…
Really easy to use, really easy to manage, really easy to ‘look’ at and find your stuff…
Very helpful team, great job and opportunities to share

### 5/5 — Not fond of the price but, it keeps track of ya collection .

*2026-07-15, version 9.9.19*

It’s an expensive app for sure , but it overall it is better than most of what’s out there . I feel I’m pioneering the nascar diecast data base lol ,for if ya can’t find your item you have to provide all the details ya self.. It would be great if the AI feature was not per scan I have over a 1000 cars and entering them manually is tedious, I don’t know how the pro version works yet I bought the lifetime membership I didn’t know it was another 100 to be a pro member..the pricing is a bit off as well but it makes for a nice looking total ..lol. For a new app is has potential.. it’s like an excel for iPhone.
