### 5/5 — My son says "I love you!"

*2011-01-13, version 1.76*

This application has been absolutely a Godsend to our silent little world. My three year old son is nonverbal autistic and for ages would not even attempt to utter a word to me or my husband. We had no idea if he was understanding us, what he wanted or needed and this led to so many frustrating days and nights. The love of our lives standing there, and no way to tell if he comprehended simple words or phrases such as I love you! The very first iPad application we downloaded was iCommunicate. I went in and recorded all of the pictures that I thought we would be using and made several story boards. My son loved it! He figured out very quickly how to navigate the program and pictures. He absolutely loves the scheduling and knowing what comes next in an activity or his day. His favorite picture became asking for a kiss and saying "I love you." One of the most amazing aspects of this application is the fact that he has started echoing the pictures and words he hears from the app. It helps that its our voices and he wants to mimic it. Soon after purchasing this app he was able to come me, show me a snack or show me what he wants for dinner. And now? He says "I love you" on his own and I completely believe it's because of iCommunicate and being able to connect the picture with the words, use it to respond to me when I say it to him and finally be able to do it on his own. I believe ANY child that is non-verbal, autistic, apraxic or any other disability that causes a child to not be able to communicate with parents should have this program. It is a must! Thank you so much for creating this and for making my home a little more noisy. I love it!

### 5/5 — One of my favorites!

*2011-01-12, version 1.76*

As a speech-language pathologist, this is one of my favorite apps! I use it for so many things from choice boards, to play scripts, to schedules and beyond. This app is so versatile and it is wonderful that my own pictures as well as symbolstix can be used.

### 5/5 — So far, so good!

*2011-01-08, version 1.76*

We've only had this a few days, but my son with ASD is captivated by the photos. It makes creating an activity schedule easy, which is always good when you need to whip one up in a hurry and don't feel like searching the Internet for the pictures you need.

### 5/5 — Best App for Introducing Augmentative Communication

*2011-01-08, version 1.76*

We have bought many of the augmentative communication apps for our four year old son who has Cerebral Palsy. Of all of the apps we are using, we have found iCommunicate to have the most versatility and advantage for our needs. We purchased it several months ago and have been so impressed with all of the updates they have provided recently. The addition of 10,000 symbolstix pictures, being able to use Google to find pictures, adding your own voice recording and being able to print your storyboards all make this app so much more useful than others we have tried. The voice recording in particular is a huge advantage as my son needs to hear words said correctly, which is not always the case when using standard computerized voices on other apps. Hearing our voices helps to keep his interest as well. We have used iCommunicate to set up routine storyboards and choice boards. I was hesitant at first to use iCommunicate because I thought it would be too much work to set up individual storyboards and choice boards, but I quickly realized that even the other apps that come with some structure for choice boards already set up require lots of time to rearrange for your child's specific needs. iCommunicate is very user friendly...the process is intuitive and has been developed by people who actually use the product to help their own child. Therefore, it has been designed with ease of use in mind. Setting up choice and routine boards is much easier than I anticipated.

### 5/5 — Babies with iPads

*2010-12-15, version 1.75*

I work with infants and toddlers with multiple disabilities and I have tried most of the AAC app and iCommunicate is the one I always go back to for the little ones. I use it for sequencing, choice making, requests, etc. so easy to set up and using my own pictures is the BEST.

### 5/5 — Great app for my non-verbal son

*2010-12-03, version 0*

I love the fact that I can upload my own pictures and record with my voice. The storyboards are great to talk with my son about our day or what's coming up. He just has fun looking at all the different pics and listening to the words, too. This is a great app for a great price. Very user-friendly. Can't wait to see what improvements/upgrades are in the future.

### 5/5 — AMAZING !!!!!

*2010-11-08, version 0*

Our daughter has Angelman Syndrome and is non-verbal, this app has truely changed our lives ! She is finally able to effectively communicate with us. She knows pictures and this app allows us to download pics from our camera or pull directly from google. Her speech therapist and teacher at school say it has really helped with her progress and they love how easy it is to use. They go on and pull up pics to help her participate in class almost daily. The storyboards have been great to help with her schedules and completing task. We can also set up choice boards for her. She feels like such a big girl and I can tell she is very proud when she can use this all by herself to tell us what she wants and needs! We have used tons of devices with her over the years and this is by far the best and easiest for her, and us.
Thank you so much for making such a wonderful app and for making it so affordable. Having a child with special needs is such a financial burden, so we really appreciate such a wonderful gift. I just can't say enough about it and have recommended it to our ESE Department at school and to others we know that will benefit from it...Thank you , Thank you, Thank you

### 5/5 — Love the update

*2010-10-19, version 0*

I love the ability to make things a checklist. I love the text to speech, will be great until I get around to recording custom audio. We are just getting started but I am so impressed with the quality and usefulness of this app. It is definitely money well spent.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2010-09-18, version 0*

This app is great i choose this app to replace my sons pecs. Its more convenient than carrying around a pocket full of pictures. He uses this to make choices on what he wants to play with, read, and eat. I set up almost 100 pictures in no time with voice and text. Very easy to use and set up. Great response time. Wonderful and quick customer service. I would recommend this to anyone who has a child that is non verbal. My son is two years old and has Down Syndrome and it works great for us. Thank you for making this program i cant wait to see more apps.

### 5/5 — Great app--a must have if your child has autism!

*2010-05-28, version 0*

Thank you developers for a fantastic app! I have a number of apps downloaded on my iPad for my autistic son, and iCommunicate is by far the most useful and easy to use. My son is only 26 months old, yet he is able to enjoy the program. The add-on for the sound is a must have and extremely easy to record--hearing our voices with the pictures keeps him engaged and interested. For example, the program is so versatile that we could use the built-in function to get a google image of "Itsy Bitsy Spider", and then we used the record function to record us singing the song to him. All he has to do is touch the picture, and he is rewarded with a song! Also, the developers responded almost immediately to a concern I had, and I have no doubt that they will continue to make this program even better. I HIGHLY recommend this application--thanks developers!!!

### 5/5 — Great on the iPad

*2010-04-12, version 0*

The iPad is a wonderful match for iCommunicate. The now available audio sounds great! We are so happy to have a tool that is so functional and easy to use for children who need visual supports. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Augmentative communication for iPad

*2010-04-10, version 0*

It's great to see iCommunicate be one of the first augmentative communication apps available for the iPad. It was one of my favorites for the iPhone and iPod touch, and now it's even better for the iPad. The larger screen makes it easier for my students with motor difficulties to access their words with photo support, and custom audio (via in-app purchase). Now my students have access to a well designed and cost-effective augmentative communication tool on a full-size device.

### 2/5 — Not for adults

*2014-11-15, version 4.0*

All pictures and activities are geared towards children, thus this app without lots of personal extra work and input, is not suitable for an adult.

### 3/5 — Good but not great

*2010-09-19, version 0*

Definitely a good app, but I wish I hadn't paid $29 for it. For $29, I thought there would be a LOT LOT more to it... Its more worth $10. There aren't nearly enough pictures or ways to put sentences together. The $29 was way too much to pay. However, I do like that you can add your own pictures, I do like that you can edit, and it does give you a decent base of pictures to start with. I really hope that free updates will include more pictures and more functionality to the app. It was a nice try though... but it does need a lower price.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2011-11-26, version 2.02*

This is very helpful for creating visual schedules with special steps to complete and providing a good reminder for tasks. We use it almost every day.

### 5/5 — Exactly what we need!

*2011-11-18, version 2.02*

My 12 year old son reads well below grade level which creates a significant barrier to independence.

I create storyboards of vocabulary words for him to study. It's great that I can include the written word and a picture as well as a recording for him to repeat.

I'm also starting to record recipe storyboards for him to follow.

Wonderful app! We will use this for many years.

### 5/5 — Great visual app

*2011-11-10, version 2.02*

I received this app for my autistic 6 year old son, it has been so easy to create visuals to let him know what is going to happen next.
Easiest app I have found for schedules- oh and it works on all devices and you can move your pages to iPod, iPad or iPhone.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2011-10-31, version 2.02*

This app is awesome and the technical support on it is fabulous too. I was having a problem and the designer went right to work to fix it. It is so easily customizable, has tons and tons of pictures, and is easy to navigate. I seriously LOVE this app! Don't waste your money on another one. Unfortunately I bought another one first and after it didn't work bought to icommunicate. It's awesome!

### 5/5 — Love the customizable options

*2011-06-14, version 1.85*

This is such a great app and very user friendly. I am an SLP who uses
iCommunicate to help my non-verbal students with autism communicate with their peers and teachers at school. I like that I can upload photos from the camera, camera roll or the web. I like that I have different story board options to choose from so that I can tailor them to either my therapy session or to the student¹s whole day. My students love the task completion option so that they can check off each task as we go along.

### 5/5 — iCommunicate does the job

*2011-04-19, version 1.81*

This app, created by Grembe, is a great tool for creating visual learning schedules, boards, and pages for learners with significant special needs. There are literally 10,000 images to search from and customize. What I like best about iCommunicate is the ease of customization for any user. Staff in my district that are working with iCommunicate report that they love being able to customize "on the go", creating incidental learning for their students as it is occurring. Plus, the ability to edit and record is extremely user-friendly and non-intimidating to novice users. All in all, a great app at a great price!

### 5/5 — Thank You!

*2011-04-04, version 1.81*

I teach an Early Exceptional Education program (EELP), my class is made up of students ages 3 to 5 with special needs and communication delays. I love this app! It is quick and easy to use. It was also one of the more affordable apps too. As I have been using this with my class, there is one thing (so far) that I would like to see....

It would be great if you could see all 40 pictures at once while using the storyboards. The pictures would have to of course be small to fit them all on one screen, but I have an iPad, so I think that my students would still be able to use the device effectively with smaller pictures. I have notice that it is harder for the to scroll down to see more choices and then remember what they have already seen. It would be great to have the option for smaller pictures so that you could display all 40 on the same screen without scrolling. :o)

I recommend this app for anyone working with students that have communication delays. Thanks for creating a great app.

### 5/5 — This is a clear example of how technology is revolutionizing education

*2011-03-24, version 1.8*

Grembe apps have make a significant contribution not only to children with special needs but also to parents and teachers who experienced on a daily basis the need for "something more". iCommunicate is an app that can have so many uses. Grembe keeps coming with some great updates. I highly recommend this app for students and teacher who need access to an easy to use app with a great deal of vocabulary.

### 5/5 — I use it in speech Therapy

*2011-02-13, version 1.76*

This app has a variety of words and symbols to help meet the communication needs of my non-verbal students. If I need to add a photo that is more specific to my lesson I have the option of adding it and putting my voice to the icon. This app is also good for creating a great visual schedule on the go. Thanks for a great app.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2011-02-01, version 1.76*

iCommunicate is currently my favorite AAC app. I can make anything I want, the only thing holding us back is that I have to make the pages and there is no navigating between pages. I need more hours in the day!! It also takes a while to load, but that is the nature of the iPad and large programs.
