While I find this app generally helpful I am wondering if there is any possibility of tracking the "number" of times a particular sin was committed, given that the priest will sometimes ask the penitent how often a sin was repeated since the last confession. Just wondering as I'm sure other Catholics have encountered similar situation. ### 3/5 — Could be better *2023-01-15* Can't write much in the Notepad. The page won't scroll up and, after a few lines, the keyboard covers what you're typing. Can't add personal sins to flag for confession. You cannot change your password on this app. It is the password I have always used. It is even in my password keeper. Now all of my notes from years of using this app are gone! Should also include a way to add your own prayers (e.g.: Memorare, specific prayers from saints, or prayers your priest asks you to pray for penance), a way to keep track ( log) when last class confession was/ and see how often you are going; a way to data track / keep data in a sort of memory/ excel spread sheet done automatically once you flag a sin) your sins to see if you really are trying to improve on repeated sins... ### 3/5 — iOS 11!! *2018-01-19* my phone won’t let me use iConfess with iOS11 unless you guys update the app :( ### 2/5 — Please make an update! *2017-10-24, version 1.9* This was a great app! If these were added, I might feel differently. ### 3/5 — Helpful app *2016-03-08* I agree with some of the reviewers regarding password issue and lack of prompt care of this important issue from the developer. However and in my opinion, one should not give the lowest rating as the app still VERY useful even without this "password-lock" feature. We must not forget that this app is free as opposed to comparable apps that have to be purchased. Also, this and other similar apps should be more used as guides and not so much as solving methods. CAUTION app NOT secure!!! *2015-12-22* Good idea poor execution. Master Password settings DO NOT work. Please do not use the notepad feature or log to write sensitive , issues of conscience. The password can be bypassed by pressing cancel and your confidential thoughts will be exposed. Upon further review app has not been updated since 2014-IOS 7, this is unacceptable and I am surprised that Apple/ ITunes does not have stringent quality improvement guidelines in place. I was a satisfied multiple year user of this app with my old IPhone when app first came out. No more with IOS 9 Again it's a good concept poor execution and follow up use with caution by not storing or using log or notepad. Please report to iTunes and request developer to update or remove from App Store as this is a great disservice to its user who trusted in its security mechanisms. Thank you for reading. I have tried a dozen different Confession apps and this seems to be the very best of everything I’ve tried, both free as well as paid. There is no better “examination of conscience” in any app other than this one. All Confession apps have the examination conscience starting with the 10 Commandments. Most stop there which is pretty limited. This app continues with, Sins with respect to the Sacrament of Confession, Sins that cry to heaven for vengeance, Sins against the Holy Spirit, Nine ways of being an accessory to another persons Sin. It continues with the seven deadly Sins of Anger, Sorrow, Gluttony, Pride, Laxity, Lust, and Greed. Finally, Sins regarding the precepts of the Catholic Church. Trust me if you make it through this examination of conscience you’re halfway to sainthood. Earlier negative comments seemed to be in regard to the password protection which was available on the older versions. For me, that was never a real problem for the following reasons. First, most people’s phones lock so it’s a moot point and second the examination of conscience is done before Confession and everything is cleared out before you leave the confessional. That meant that I had to prepare by examining my conscience more thoroughly. iConfess is very helpful, and it also has a log.
