### 5/5 — Brilliant Software

*2013-03-04, version 4.0*

This app has become as important to me while flying as my TrackIR and my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. Easy to setup, the ability to have my MFD's literally at my fingertips makes what was once a bit of a chore (freezing my TrackIR, reaching for my mouse and trying to hit the correct OSB with my cursor) into an immersive experience. Having experimented back in the day with Falcon 4 and TouchBuddy with a Viewsonic touchscreen monitor, I can honestly say this is a dream come true and the best $30 I've spent on my hobby in a long time. Support is great as well as the author solved a problem I was having within 12 hours of posting a trouble ticket.

### 5/5 — Awesome support

*2013-02-24, version 4.0*

Works great with DCS. Really makes cockpit management easy. Price is fair for such a niche market. To top it off support is outstanding. I had an issue on my end running and support was there over the weekend answering emails within an half hour. Outstanding!

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2012-12-30, version 4.0*

I've been using this for a long time now, turns my home PC into a mini sim-pit. Kinda amazed at how easy it is to set up. Turn the server on on your PC, hit the app and it's connected. If you only have one monitor be aware that you'll have two static repeated images of your two MFCD's so I recommend a second monitor as the latest version lets you put them on there so your main screen is uncluttered. Also, depending on the server's settings it now works in multiplayer.

Very immersive stuff, well supported, highly recommend for A-10 pilots.

### 5/5 — Excellent MFD and panel emulation for DCS A-10

*2012-08-29, version 4.0*

Very well done app allowing fully functional mfd's with good frame rates and no major hit to sim performance. I need to spend more time with it but I'm loving it so far.

Now can we we heave one for DCS Black Shark? =)

### 4/5 — Great Flight Sim App

*2011-07-15, version 2.0*

This is really a great addition to the somewhat barren world of flight sim apps for the iPad.

Different people will use the iPad in different ways, personally I have it as another interface other than having to use the mouse to point and click when using the UFC, MFDs, Radios, and CDU. Others may use two and have it setup for easy reach as the 2 MFD’s are in real life.

The interface is responsive to inputs and the fps for the MFD’s (in the combo view) is up in the high 20’s for general use, it will however drop down to around 10 fps in complex fighting scenarios when you are using the TGP or Mav. Note that this is only when in the combo view, in the single view it is still up in the high 20s (this is a really great achievement IMO).

The combo screen view of the MFD’s is nice for those that don’t have 2 iPad’s (which I don’t). The software for the server side (to be installed on the desktop running DCS A-10C) is straight forward to install and setup. One point to note for those that use dual screen, that in your video card setup, make sure that the 2nd monitor is to the right of the primary (this is a limitation of DCS A-10C, not of the server config). A minor issue to be fair and one that I haven’t worried about.

Had some initial issue with the release version being able to connect via the bonjour services over my Wifi (this hasn’t been experienced by all users) however working with the dev have tested the new direct IP connection which works great.

Recommend it to those that have DCS A-10C, now, wouldn’t it be great if a mission briefing and checklist component be integrated into this as well!

### 5/5 — Very Impressive!

*2011-06-25, version 1.0*

A fantastic addition to any DCS A10C set-up! I am finally able to make full and proper use of the CDU. Looking forward to iPad radio controls on the next update. It would be great to have the option to use the iPad in portrait which would be better suited to the size and orientation of the CDU.

### 5/5 — iControl DCS

### 5/5 — Great

*2011-05-10, version 1.0*

Stunning peice of software for all Hog pilots. If you fly DCS A10 and own a Ipad, Then this is the software you have been waiting for. Finally touch screen Mfds and a great nav Comp and UFC. Been following this project for some time, and am very happy its finally released, Im that confident in it, Ive even purchased App, BEFORE I have a Ipad.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2017-02-03, version 4.2.6*

No longer works in the current version of DCS.

### 1/5 — Ignored by Developer

*2015-02-22, version 4.1*

Requested refund for this inferior software, took ages to set up server. Need a hammer to use switches! The mfds are poor quality and the swipe function is almost impossible to use. This app will only frustrate and distract from flying. Complete waste of money! If you like flying do not use this software. Don't forget about the fact you need a second monitor to use this app or you will be stuck with two annoying mfds in your cockpit view. No support from developer and bad attitude. Again never ever buy this because you won't get your money back. Note to developer, if you charge a lot of money for an app make sure it works first. Otherwise give support and at least if app is rubbish as in this case refund money.

### 1/5 — Can't get it to run

*2014-10-13, version 4.1*

Spent 3 hrs trying to get this app to run without success, checked forums, contacted support and tried trouble shooting the heck out this thing. I had a lot of hope, but just about to give up when it asked me to rate it!

### 1/5 — Very nice layout and interface...however

*2012-11-26, version 4.0*

The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that once in the dual MFCD UFC Screen, it is difficult to "swipe" back to the other screens. Perhaps my swiping technique is not very good; however in the heat of things, I found myself task locked and loosing my situational awareness extremely fast. All the other screens swipe fine. I would suggest to fix this would be to have a small "hot" spot labelled on each screen to allow you to go to the screen you require as apposed to swiping up or down or back and forth. Just a thought.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2011-10-30, version 2.1*

Stick with itouchcontrol, I tried for hours, I reinstalled dcs multiple times trying to get this to work, read and reread the install instructions and it either displays the cockpit across both my screens despite the resolution for my main monitor being set correctly, and doesn't work at all for showing live mfd streaming. the button interaction is very hit or miss, when it does work, the latency is bad. I don't expect instantaneous response but I was hoping it was comparable to ipadpit.

For a $30 dollar app I was expecting "plug and play" as it should be for that price. As far as correcting the damage to your config files this app does, this is what you get "the files changed are backed up to the directory in which they were modified in"....ok would you like to give up a hint which directories those are? How hard would it be to code in a uninstall button? More correctly a "fix my files your crappy app changed" button. So save your money and get the touch control app and download ipadpit.

### 2/5 — DCS iControl

*2016-12-29, version 4.2.6*

In light of recent updates to DCS, this app has stopped working properly. I have tried reinstalling the app and the associated program on my pc but with no results. I would appreciate some input into this issue if possible.

### 2/5 — A regretted purchase

*2014-10-16, version 4.1*

A hefty price tag most likely due to the small market for this app.

At this price I would expect the connection to the server to be a great deal more reliable. Even prior to connection the app will often freeze or crash altogether.

It needs more work to justify the price tag. Don't purchase and expect an easy, seamless or reliable solution for your DCS control and display needs.

I regret spending my money on this app.

### 2/5 — Full disclosure

*2012-05-31, version 3.1*

This app is generally functional and generally works well, but there's a catch: in order for it to work the way you are probably expecting it to work, you must have more than one monitor. Since I am running a single display system, I am unable to effectively use this product to its potential. Had I known before I came off the 30 bucks to make this purchase I would have passed.

I spent a couple of hours tinkering with unsupported workarounds for the multiple display problem but haven't had any success. I'm not going to invest any more time trying but will keep an eye on product development in case this issue is resolved.

If you're the kind of person who is tech savvy and willing to tinker with something until you can make it work OR if you already have multiple displays, this product may be for you. If you're more like everyone else, then I caution you: caveat emptor.

PS: there is no instruction manual.

### 4/5 — Very useful.

*2017-01-28, version 4.2.6*

Having CDU easily reachable is a godsend. Great app.
I only gave four stars as the battery panel in the coldstart screen is badly positioned when in portrait orientation, not entirely rendered and obscured behind another panel. A rarely used screen for me but I can't give a perfect score if I see something is not perfect.

### 4/5 — Great addition

*2015-01-10, version 4.1*

I have been flying DCS for a while using the A-10 with my X-52 pro and cougar MFDs. This app is a fantastic addition to that setup.

It allows me to use the UFC and CDU seamlessly allowing me to get on station earlier to provide CAS.

On occasion it lags, but that was very, very few times. Overall it is an almost instantaneous switch when you press the button. I thoroughly recommend this App to further enhance your A-10 experience.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Update

*2025-06-15, version 4.3.1*

I’ve been using this marvelous app for quite a long time now and it’s fantastic. It sure would be nice to get an overhaul of the package that includes the whole cockpit of the A-10C and A-10C-II. I’d me more than happy to pay a higher price for such a quality product. Excellent work.

### 5/5 — Essential

*2024-11-26, version 4.3.1*

Can’t play without it. Terrific app. Too cheap for what it is, and the customer service is incredible.

### 5/5 — An Essential Component!

*2017-08-18, version 4.2.10*

While the app sure needs a few tweaks here and there, it definitely provides the best interface for the MFDs and other components as well.

While I understand some of the review claiming that it is only usable in a multi-monitor setup, this isn't completely true. You CAN use the app in a single monitor setup but you will have to sacrifice places for the MFDs from your screen. You can resize them and make them smaller but you will sacrifice the quality of the screen on your iPad.

Using a second monitor surly provide a better experience since you can place all three exports (2 MFDs and CDU) on your second monitor and resize them to be bigger for better picture quality on your iPad screen, and leave your main screen for the beautiful cockpit view.

So far, I used the app for a couple of flights including cold starts and aside from some small instances where I had to use my mouse for input (such as powering on the ILS) things were great.

I definitely recommend this app for those looking to improving their Sim experience.
Sure, the price tag is high and if you are worried you might try the free versions first before you decide on paying.

### 5/5 — Hard To Set Up But Finally Worth It.

*2014-11-05, version 4.1*

I had a hard time getting this app to work. After I totally gave up, I sent an email to the app developer without expecting a reply, but I was surprised when he replied to me immediately and started helping me with the thing: A true rarity in an app developer these days. He deserves 4 stars for this, if for nothing else. He helped me step-by-step via offering suggestions and tech support, till finally we got it to work the way it should...........................It had something to do with my PC resolution. So for all those having problems, try tweaking around with your resolution in DCS options menu as that might help. Full screen mode have to be NOT checked..........................UPDATE: It works well with track IR (but you gotta know how to set up the TrackIR properly). After I leant how to set up both really good..............I am now living in the skies. I really love this thing. You can't know what you are missing till you use it in-game.

### 5/5 — Simply Amazing

*2014-09-01, version 4.1*

This is an amazing app. I have been using it for about a year now and I cannot begin to describe how amazing and useful it is. Well worth every dime.

### 5/5 — Excellent app, seamless.

*2014-04-20, version 4.1*

I was about to purchase the MFD Cougar pack when i found this app. I must say that i am very pleased i did as i have been using this all day and it's excellent. It's really simple to configure and very effective with lots of features making interacting with the MFD's seamless. I'm using triple screens and Track IR so it's much easier to interact with the panels on my iPad, particularly as it's always in the same place, and physically touching them adds to the immersion.

### 5/5 — So cool and useful.

*2014-04-05, version 4.1*

Cant fly the A-10C without it, I feel naked. It is very cool to flip switches and use the cdu, mfcds on the ipad. Setup is a breeze, all automated. I used the virtual display option and it was easy, just had to do a bit of math to fit everything on an invisible screen. The only con is the price. Performance in game also suffers a bit.

### 5/5 — Excellent must have

*2013-08-29, version 4.0*

It took a little bit to understand how to use the app with the server component. However, after taking my time and exporting the CDU and MFDs to another monitor and reading the help pages everything works awesome. Being a real life pilot and DCS A-10 being as real as it can be it sure helps when you can actually touch the buttons on the MFD.

I use Track IR Pro and time and time again I fumble around trying to move my mouse over to click the correct button and fail.

For those who have troubles getting everything working just take a deep breath and read the help pages. This is a complex app connecting to a complex simulator. Stay with it. You will be glad you did.

If I could request an option? Instead of the two finger swipe can you just make a small arrow or another button to switch screens? Or add the option to do so?

Bravo Developers! Worth every penny!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2013-07-03, version 4.0*

I have 2 iPads running this app and it is like having all the buttons and switches I need right in front of me. I can actually fly almost without a mouse. Download the server app to the PC. Fire it up and everything is recognized and I was using it right away.

My only issue is the 2 finger swipe to change displays is not really optimal. A button would be better, but I understand something is in the works.

Great investment. Makes the sim much more realistic. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — A must-have for DCS A-10C users

*2013-06-21, version 4.0*

If you enjoy DCS A-10C and consider purchasing some equipments to deal with MFCDs, UFC, CDU, and etc., this is the app you must have. There was an issue with multiplayer stability. But, since the 1.0.0.4 version released, the issue has been cleared. The price of about 30 bucks is nothing considering what you can get from this. You don't need to buy all the panels and displays with iControl DCS.
One thing that i want to remind you is that you must have very good connection with you router to get good refresh rate. I believe you will need a N router and your server PC has to be connected with LAN not Wifi.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. Thanks a lot for good product and support.
