Customer service is non existent and if you do choose to use I’d say expect to be visiting charging stations as home charging (which is the point of this) is intermittent at best. This is not intelligent charging!! I inherited this as we bought a new build but so wish we brought our easee car charger from our previous house (so much easier!) to charge Awful set up…i would seriously avoid if possible ### 1/5 — App freezes on sign in page *2023-12-07, version 1.8.2* Not good that whenever you need to charge your vehicle the App just freezes on sign in page ### 1/5 — Rubbish! *2023-11-24, version 1.8.2* Keeps loosing contact very slow sending commands after sending multiple time. Does not work with iPhone password chain or face password. I would not give it 1 star but that’s the minimum excepted. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2023-11-24, version 1.8.2* Honestly terrible, the app randomly stops working and you need to delete the app and re-register which means re-syncing with the EV charger. Avoid both the chargers and the app. ### 1/5 — Avoid *2023-11-24, version 1.8.2* The app, the charger, customer service if you can ever get anyone to answer the phone, absolutley horrendous for a so called “premium product” had problem after problem and now the app won’t even do anything! If it’s not randomly disconnecting the app just won’t do anything at all including signing you in. I very rarely complain but this product and app is absolutely garbage. ### 1/5 — Works until it doesn’t! *2023-11-23, version 1.8.2* Has been fairly reliable for last year but now the app has stopped working and unable to charge the car. I’ve paired RFID cards previously but currently not authorised. Incredibly frustrating there’s no back up option to re-pair RFID card (outside of app) and no clear instructions for using QR code. Definitely needs more thought in design and execution ### 1/5 — Poor *2023-06-27, version 1.8.1* Having to keep deleting and reinstalling the app to set my start time. I have experienced issues with the app since I first had an iCS charger installed. Not impressed. ### 1/5 — The worst app I have ever used *2023-06-25, version 1.8.1* Unnecessarily complicated charger and app, it’s almost funny how shockingly bad it is… well it would be if I didn’t need to charge my car! ### 1/5 — Just hideous *2023-05-21, version 1.7.9* The app is so awful it’s laughable. It signs you out then doesn’t recognise your email or password. Just impossible to reset and so so frustrating. When it works, which is infrequent it’s ok. Frankly when it doesn’t which is most of the time and you can’t reset it, it’s the most annoying thing ever. ### 1/5 — ICS 2.0lite is an Appalling app *2022-10-02, version 1.7.3* Poor user experience. Poor integration with the charger. QR code reader doesn’t work. Poor integration with the IR card. It regularly forgets my login details so I have to spend several minutes re registering before getting in my car. If you use the card you can’t use the app and visa Versa. As an ex software engineer I can recognise an app that has not had sufficient resources put into it. It looks like the cheapest possible solution-a version 1.0 that has never been upgraded. The result is that the user is inconvenienced at every turn. The only usable way of using the charger is via the app so this poor app makes a good charger very difficult to use. My advice to ICS is to employ a proper software DESIGN engineer. ### 1/5 — Awful *2022-08-29, version 1.7.1* This charger brand and app is terrible. The scheduling doesn’t work properly. You cannot set the time for the device and it thinks it’s an hour or so behind. So the timer functions don’t work. It’s a bit too tech an app and in all honesty for a premium device the app interface is atrocious. I wish I hadn’t installed from this firm and gone with another brand. When it works. And even when it does, it’s really clunky to use. Haven’t been able to change since the clocks changed last weekend and the support is woeful. The fact that they boast on their website that they have industry leading software is laughable. With hindsight, would avoid. If I wrote software this bad, I’d be fired. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2025-06-28, version 1.8.6* The ICS system has been changed once and now within a month the system has thrown yet another wobbly. Can’t even access the app now having to use a local charging network at over 10 times the cost. What a waist £1100 having this system installed, frustrating to say the least😤 ### 1/5 — Poor *2025-06-28, version 1.8.6* Very poor. Really wouldn’t recommend this charger or app. Charger regularly drops off from WiFi so bought a sim card for the charger - still drops off. The cards - seems to reset and don’t work. And as for the app.. don’t get me started - yet again in a situation where the app is frozen and I can’t log in to charge the car. ### 1/5 — Only works sometimes *2025-06-28, version 1.8.6* It’s ok. If I wrote software this bad, I’d be fired. ### 1/5 — Not letting me log in so can’t charge *2025-06-28, version 1.8.6* App and phone both up to date, WiFi working. When I try and log into app it just times out so I can’t travel now today because the car hasn’t charged overnight. Not a very good system/app. ### 1/5 — Probably the worst App on my phone *2025-04-18, version 1.8.6* If I had a choice to install another charger I would do the research on which one was easiest to use. Support is there and responds promptly but with inane responses which don’t actually answer your question. If my problem of constant dropouts isn’t solved soon it’s going on ebay. ### 1/5 — Messing with people’s lives! *2024-05-20, version 1.8.2* I have had the unfortunate experience of having an ICS charger for 2 years now and I am at breaking point. If I’d have known how poor the app is prior I would not have purchased the ICS charger. Always as soon as Apple have an update or ICS have an issue, I can’t charge the car until they sort it and that means days of work, missed appointments, no school run. You really need to get your act together. ### 1/5 — AVOID AT ALL COSTS! *2024-05-19, version 1.8.2* This app is a headache. Its stuck on the sign-in page and therefore I cannot charge my car. No customer support. The RFID card says ‘invalid authorisation’ Doesn't even deserve 1 star. ## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Works perfectly *2025-03-21, version 1.8.2* I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are about , I have installed an ICS charger which was straight forward and looks great . I was disappointed when I came to download the app and seen all the negative reviews . However the app is simple to use, works faultlessly. Maybe others are having IP and setup issues. Some of the set up options are a little confusing but apart from that a great experience. ### 5/5 — Works. *2024-09-02, version 1.8.2* App works perfectly. After reading the bad reviews I can only imagine it is user error. ### 5/5 — Smart charger *2022-07-12, version 1.3.2* The app installed quickly and has all the features I need. Especially like the schedules to take advantage of my off-peak electricity price. Great to keep check on how much energy being used by my EV (and what it’s costing me to run). Also used the feature to sync a card to start charging which works great. So far no issues ### 5/5 — Excellent functionality *2022-07-06, version 1.3.2* The app works well and does what it says on the tin. We install ICS chargers and have had only good experiences. Chargers must be connected to the internet before the app can be used, which is a little technical but the instructions are in the user manual. Once the charger is linked to Wi-Fi the app connects perfectly. Some chargers are not set up for ICS 2.0 lite by default (as they are mainly for commercial sites which use full ICS 2.0 management suite) but ICS technical were able to help with a very quick phone call to adjust its settings. This can also be done by the end user but again it’s a little technical. Once it is set up you need to reprogram cards using the app and the charger card reader, which is actually very intuitive. Don’t be put off by other reviews. ### 4/5 — Just ring ICS for help! *2022-07-18, version 1.3.2* Like other reviews I had trouble getting my unit online but after a quick phone call to ICS I was emailed user friendly instructions and I did it! App now working and unit online. ### 3/5 — Needs work for inverter and battery storage system *2023-06-05, version 1.8.1* I’m using this app for the Ics hybrid inverter and battery system unfortunately it doesn’t give you any history of solar generation and usage making it impossible to look back at how the system is performing without actually going to the inverter itself which is not ideal ### 2/5 — Poor *2025-04-25, version 1.8.6* Installing the app and adding the charge point via Bluetooth is relatively straightforward. Adding WiFi details is awkward. There is little in the way of positive confirmation that the WiFi details have been accepted, and if they have not, the app just replaces them with defaults. Once you have it connected and the app reports the charger is online, the app then crashes if you attempt to change any settings. Dreadful. ### 2/5 — Unreliable *2023-04-12, version 1.7.9* The app is just too unreliable and not very responsive. When it works it’s fine to start and stop charging (I.e. the most basic functions!) but otherwise it really should be a *lot* better. Also, the time is not set to GMT/BST local time!! ### 2/5 — EV Charger *2022-03-13, version 1.3.2* The charger itself looks good and was easily to install but unfortunately just cannot get the app to work.
