Fairly comprehensive and great pics but drop down menu for characteristic choices does not work. Reinstalled and rebooted but still broken.

The identify a weed function doesn't allow my to select anything in the drop down menu. Not sure if it is a bug with iOS 9 of iPhone 6S. Could be a good app if that function worked.

Much better photos of grass weeds than other weed apps I've used. They could still be better (e.g. Wildflower ID by Isoperia), but are adequate to ID most of the grasses

...is that when you press BACK, you should go back to the point from whence you came - but you do not.  Instead it takes you back to the very beginning, and you'll have to scroll to get to where you were.

I don't even really want to say that it's a good first try, because really it's not. The search functionality is pretty much useless and hardly, if ever, works. So it basically just becomes a long and monotonous list of every possible weed they chose to include.  Even at that, it still fails as scrolling is clumsy, going back and forth from the tiny postage stamp sized preview to the actual grainy "full" photo starts the list at the top all over again! If your fingers can actually get the letter selector to work, the app will not let you scroll up past that letter, which just seems entirely unnecessary. 
 
I will admit it's one of the few apps that even tries and it might be useful to some, but it needs a lot of work to actually be useful as an ipad app. As is, it's a very very rough app.

So if you expect this to magically identify the nuisance plants in your yard, with simplicity and ease, keep looking. 
If, however, you just basically want a flat list with tiny thumbnails, grainy photos, and little else in a listing of all possible MO weeds, they chose to include, then this app might be for you.

It's a great start, but has room to improve. I would like to bookmark certain invasives. Better and more photos are needed. Not all species have descriptions to go with them. And best control methods per season would be extremely helpful including manual, mechanical and chemical.
Thanks for all your hard work! There is a huge need for a comprehensive invasive App.

I could see this being a very useful app if you're in MO, or surrounding states. I'm in Colorado, and while there's some overlap (which is why I downloaded it), it's certainly not tailored to the western plains (but that's not how it's advertised, so that's fine). It's still got utility here, but not as much as it would be if I were in MO. Now Colorado State needs to do something like this!! All in all, it's a very functional app. I'll keep it.

Great app! Easy to use and very helpful. My fiancé does crop research and every now and then comes across a weed he hasn't seen or does not immediately recognize and he loves this app. It's also helpful for around the house...figuring out what weeds are in the garden

They need to provide definitions of search terms and better photos. The photos are tiny with no way to zoom in.

No part of this app works, and I have tried downloading it on multiple devices. Whether I go through the plant identifier key, the search function, or try to access the full list, I just get the same error message that says “Database error: undefined.” Very disappointing as this seems like it could be a very useful app if it actually worked.

Couldn’t get it to identify a single weed. It didn’t even suggest possibilities, just none found. And I reside in Missouri. My weeds are not mysterious identified anomalies, there bout as common as you can get because I see them everywhere.

This is a great non-linear identification key. Many times better than a dichotomous key.  I use this app constantly through the growing season at work.

I've used a lot of these weed ID apps. I'm an agronomist, I keep my books close by. But this is the best app I've found and it competes with my books. Really good.

Great tool to use while in the field! Handy for a field scout to refer to as well. Allows you to identify a weed by selecting multiple categories in order to help you find the right weed. Fantastic!

I've done the image search online, Wikipedia, and the like, but here it is all in one place. 

Now, if I understood some of the terminology better (had to look up petiole, ochrea), the search function would probably cut my selection down to just a few, as there are 16 different characteristics to identify your weeds by.  And when you open each file, there is more than one picture, showing different stages in the weeds life-cycle, along with more information about the weed than you probably wanted to know, unless you are a botanist. 

The only thing it doesn't tell you is how to control or eradicate the weed, but the name of the app is ID weeds, not exterminate them.

One of my problems with the app was that some of the IDs involve pulling the weed, and I planted a wildflower seed garden, and wanted to know whether something I couldn't identify yet (no flowers yet) was something I planted or a weed. 

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that: 
a) the thumbnails for their weed guesses are tiny, so you often have to open them all up. If they were a little larger, or zoomable (or enlarged when you hovered over them), you could save the time of opening and closing each file. 
And 
b) the first picture in each file I looked at wasn't always a close up of a mature (or at least identifiable) plant. Sometimes you had to go 3 or more pictures in to see what the plant looks like when you're likely to be pulling it.

I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, as that's not a deal breaker, just gives them something to shoot for on the next version.

I use this app to help clients identify weeds.  The back button should go back to the parent link.  Readability is five star. Would like to see management/irradication options.

I really like the app except when I view a weed and hit the back button. It takes you back to the beginning of the list and you have to restart your search.

I have used this app for identifying medicinal herbs most people call weeds here in Texas. It worked well for identifying and giving me the common name of the plant so that I could look it up in a reference book. Unfortunately last time I updated my iPhone it rendered the app useless. Going to try to download it again today.
Other than that it works very well.

I think this is a solid, if not spectacular app for identifying weeds in the south central region. It walks you through a process of questions which limit your choices of possible weeds, the more criteria you select. 

Found that some of the more technical questions didn't give any help to the layman except basic (sometimes very cryptic) photos. Some text explanation might be nice. 

Also found that when scrolling through plant selections, it would interpret a pause in my scrolling as me choosing that plant and sending me into the detailed plant explanation. 

Would really like it if all photos of plant came up when going into detail screen (current version makes me scroll through them).

Would also like if detail provided control strategies.

This is very good.  It could be made even better if the identification module worked like a real decision tree, where after a selection is made for a major attribute only the relevant choices are possible selections for the next attribute.  That way you would never get the entire form filled out only to have the app tell you there are no weeds which match.
