App has a really low request time out so I could never get it to work on my international data plan, I basically had to figure out what bike station would be near a spot with fast enough WiFi that the app would work without constant errors. And figure out where I was going to dock beforehand as well. 2 stars because Seoul has great bike infrastructure all along the Han river so it was worth the hassle

I could only get so far and it would kick me out. Finally I consistently got a network error and could t get in at all. I used the Kakao T app for e bikes and it was great. I recommend using that.

Every time I loaded up the app on data,  it crashed. I tried restarting my phone and redownloading the app but this didn’t fix it. Every time I tried to load my pass it saved until I closed the app.

Maddening how the app loses your pass when it is unloaded from memory - had to type in the pass number about 5 times on my otherwise enjoyable ride. iPhones have storage, tell the devs to use it!

The app constantly crashes when I’m using mobile data provided via KLook eSIM (SKT Korean provider) and only works on Wi-Fi. As a result, it’s impossible to unlock a bike, even after purchasing a pass.

the app being this bad kind of irks me as a foreigner having been in seoul for three months because actually riding the bikes is amazing both for leisure and to get places.

the only reason i can rent a bike through this app is because i have memorized everything that can go wrong with using the app (and there are now more things going wrong that sometimes stop me now). first of all, the app blocks any non-korean ip address, so when you are using a travel sim that’s routed through hong kong/singapore, you cannot use the app at all, and it gives a very uninformative message on why. then, when you go to rent a bike, it will take a while after scanning the code to show a popup that is
a) half the time broken and
b) not translated
anyway, after closing that the bike should open. but later when you have used your phone for a while and re-open the app, the app has completely forgotten your session, which means you have to input the pass number you got in your email into the app! and because the app takes the session number as two 4-digit fields instead of an 8-digit number like its given to you in the email, you can’t even easily copy it over either. luckily, it seems like you can return the bikes without the app open but still annoying to check

also, i ran over the time limit for one of my passes once and now i can never use that email again, because when it prompts me to pay the surcharges, there is always an error with my payment. i have tried with different cards and also through the website, but the website is even more broken

i wish this app can be better because it is such an important part of the city life of seoul and really gives a bad look to tourists who want to enjoy the city

I spent 2 hours trying to rent a bike and still couldn’t do it. Endless errors and constant crashes — completely unusable.

In all my years of using smartphones, I’ve never seen anything this bad. Honestly, if I asked a 2-year-old to vibe-code an app in 20 minutes, it would turn out better and more stable.

It’s not even about the money — it’s about the wasted time and frustration.

網路一直連不穩，好不容易連上了掃碼，結果一掃就跳掉，想要再用你買的號碼再掃一次的時候，他就跟你說沒有這個號碼了？？？重點是那台腳踏車根本沒有被解鎖，我根本就沒有辦法用。然後想要找客服，只能用電話。超級外國人不友善。還找不到地方退款。

why have a ‘foreigners’ section if they’re unable to use it? 

i was getting blocked by their firewall, and have no idea why this could happen. i was on SKTelecom at the time. 

the firewall did not block when WIFI was present, but unfortunately it was not near my local bike rental spot. 

i tried even using a VPN and buying an e-sim but it didn’t work.

very sad, i just wanted to ride a bike :( very stressful trying to figure it out by myself at the bike area

일년에 3만원으로 한시간 무제한 이라니…말도안돼는 가격입니다ㅠ
너무너무 좋습니다. 가격도 매우 저렴하고 정류장도 많아서 이용하기 편리합니다. 예전엔 따릉이 안에 있는 개인 비번4자리를 눌렀어야 했는데 최근엔 핸드폰으로 큐알코드만 찍으면 되더라구요. 굉장히 편리하고 똑똑해 졌다고 생각합니다. 메인 정류소(잠실역,삼성역)이런곳에 자전거 배치가 더 유동적으로 되었으면 좋겠다는 피드백이 있습니다.

출퇴근을 거의 매일 따릉이로 할 정도로, 이제 따릉이는 제 일상의 일부가 됐습니다. 특히 아침에 버스 시간을 맞추느라 스트레스 받을 일 없이, 앱으로 근처 대여소를 확인하고 바로 출발할 수 있어서 너무 편리해요.
앱에서 실시간으로 자전거와 거치대 수를 확인할 수 있는 기능이 가장 유용했고, 최근 업데이트 이후에는 속도도 빨라져서 이용하기 훨씬 수월해졌습니다. 출근길에 상쾌하게 바람 맞으며 하루를 시작하는 기분은 따릉이를 타 본 사람만이 아는 매력이라고 생각해요.
출퇴근뿐 아니라 주말에 가볍게 라이딩할 때도 늘 함께해서, 이제는 제 생활과 분리하기 힘들 정도로 큰 도움을 받고 있습니다. 앞으로도 안정적이고 편리한 운영 부탁드려요. 서울시민의 일상 속 발이 되어주는 서비스, 정말 고맙습니다!

정기권으로 거의 매일 이용하고 있습니다. 서울시의 가장 좋은 서비스라고 생각합니다ㅋㅋㅋ 앱이 예전보다 사용성이 점점 개선되고 있는 느낌이예요. 대여, 반납도 점점 더 빨라진느낌?! 주변 대여소에 자전거도 늘 있고, 자전거 관리상태도 좋아서 늘 감사한 마음으로 이용합니다! 감사합니당!

운동가거나 가까운곳 다닐때마다 따릉이를 이용하는데 가격도 그렇고 자전거 상태도 항상 좋은것 같아요!!
딱하나 아쉬운건 에어팟으로 노래를 들으면서 따릉이를 반납하면 가끔 임시반납 처리가 될 때가 있어요.. 앱을 껐다켜면 해결되지만 급할때 몇번 이래서 곤란했던 적이 있습니닷 ㅜ
이거 말고는 상담원분들도 정말 친절하시고 문제해결도 빠르게 해주셔서 더할나위 없이 만족하고 있습니다!!

따릉이를 출퇴근과 주말 산책용으로 꾸준히 이용하고 있습니다. 자전거 위치 확인도 빠르고, 최근 업데이트 이후 반납 오류가 확실히 줄어든 점은 만족스럽습니다. 무엇보다도 가까운 대여소를 한눈에 볼 수 있고, 실시간 잔여 대수 확인이 잘 되어 급할 때 유용했습니다.

다만 일부 지역에는 자전거가 부족할 때가 많습니다.자주 이용하는 사람 입장에서는 대여소마다 자전거 수량이 조금 더 균형 있게 배치되면 좋겠습니다. 서울의 교통 체증을 줄여주는 좋은 서비스라 앞으로도 꾸준히 이용할 생각입니다. 지속적인 개선과 업데이트 기대합니다.

Thanks to this public bike rental system, I was able to bike around the city of seoul easily.
I am a foreigner and I could still use the app to purchase a one day pass.
The app is straightforward and easy to use!
I had a really nice time riding the bike🥰

공공 어플들 대부분 UI가 구리거나 제대로 작동하지 않는 경우가 많은데 따릉이는 깔끔하고 대여, 반납, 임시잠금/해제 등 모든 기능이 잘 작동돼요. 그리고 따릉이 1일권이 한 번 사용이 아니라 24시간 내 여러번 대여 가능한게 진짜 편해요! 예전엔 1년권으로 매년 썼었는데 아무래도 한겨울엔 거의 안 쓰고 하다보니 요즘엔 일일권으로 쓰는데 만족스러워요. 정기권 예전엔 제로페이 할인 됐었는데 다시 할인 적용이 됐으면 좋겠어요.
