《外教社大学英语词典》APP以非英语专业大学生为目标用户，以助学助考为首要目的，具有以下特色： 
1. 语料质量可靠。本APP基于上海外语教育出版社词典语料库开发，所用语料均来自正规编辑出版物，经编辑和专家严格审校。 
2. 收词规模适中。本APP收词5万多条，收录大学英语四六级和硕博阶段的词汇以及其他常用英语词汇，可满足非英语专业大学生日常英语查考、学习和考试需要。 
3. 专栏多，语法用法信息丰富实用。本APP有谚语、用法、背景知识、辨析、考点、教材例证库等多个专栏，有助用户多角度认知英语词汇。 
4. 与考试和教学紧密结合。本APP标注了大学英语四六级和硕博阶段英语词汇和词组，并为词典中的大学英语教材词汇提供了来自教材的例证（即教材例证库），让用户能针对考试和教学词汇进行有效学习和记忆。
