.الأجنحة المتكسرة جبران خليل جبران

هي نزعة رومنسية واضحة تلف أحداث وقصة جبران "الأجنحة المتكسرة" فتى وفتاة وحب روحي طاهر يجمع بينهما، بعيد عن متعة الجسد وشهواته، وهو حب يائس، حب مستحيل انتهى بالموت. إلا أن هذا الموت يجمع بين الحبيبين اللذين فرقتهما شرائع الناس والحياة. وعلى غرار العديد من الرومنسيين أكد جبران ازدواجية الروح والمادة، فقدّس الروح واحتقر المادة، فـ"ظمأ الروح أعظم من ارتواء المادة، وخوف النفس أحب من طمأنينة الجسد"، لأن ظمأ الروح هو ظمأ إلى مصدرها، إلى الكمال، إلى الله، فيما يكون ارتواء المادة فساداً، لأنه ابتعاد عن هذه الحقيقة، وانصراف إلى ما يفصل الروح عن مصدر وجودها، عن الخير المطلق.
