## What is 香港華人會計師公會?

創立本會
1913年，政府有感華資有限公司的數目日益增多，而其記帳方式多採用中文及上進下支帳簿和進支存欠之結帳，在修訂當時有效之1911年香港公司法例時，曾擬令各華資有限公司必須用英文記帳。惟各有關人士認為在執行此項措施時將會非常困難，遂由周少岐紳士（即已故周竣年爵士之先翁）領導聯合發起向港府交涉取消此擬通過之法例。

政府經考慮後，亦俯順輿論民情，允予接納。將公司法例有關章節，略事修訂。以後所有有限公司，可用中文記帳，但必須加設英文之現金收支簿（即當時之香港公司法例第 121 條之規定）。

同時更規定凡欲擔任華人核數員者，必須經考試合格，方准執業。港府隨即委任劉鑄伯，何福（已故何東爵士兄弟），周少岐及袁金華（又名袁英山）四人為第一任考試委員，又以華民政務司為當然主席。
